Pirate Release Speculation - Brandini - 2008-07-05

Until I read this thread I was not exicted about the Pirate job.

Now I am giddy like a school girl.

Pirate Release Speculation - Dagger - 2008-07-05

Wow, I only knew about the octo event image and the party search with the pirates in it, I didn't know they used more pirate sprites in ads.
o.o

This definatly makes me think that they will be coming really soon. (2 months and up, no sooner than that.)

Pirate Release Speculation - Holypie - 2008-07-05

also, in a GM blog post it said something along the lines of "we will be ending the summer with a bang" hint, no?

Pirate Release Speculation - Viper - 2008-07-05

Wow, I didn't even notice the party search function thingy, nice find.

Pirate Release Speculation - Pyroticwater - 2008-07-07

Hmm, didn't they say they would have new surprises for the next part of summer or at the end of summer? I can't remember which, but maybe this is it. Maybe the pirates will be released as their "surprise"

It's also worth pointing out that we have some of the Old Ellinia data, some hints of NLC expansion, and hints of that night-time place in the desert. Heart

Pirate Release Speculation - Worthyness - 2008-07-07

I personally think that the Pirate job will come out in December for Maple's Holiday gift...

It makes logical sense, but that doesn't stop me from hoping we get the job in the 2nd part of summer =P

I kinda want an NLC expansion too... it's quite overdue for another area.

Pirate Release Speculation - Stressed - 2008-07-10

I'm probably off here, but here's another thing I'm taking seriously when considering the release of pirates.

"So, we're proud to welcome you to the first expansion in the Chronicles of Masteria, Crimsonwood Keep. The symbol you're looking at up there is the official seal. This should give a few indications as well..."

After looking at the seal for a while I noticed it gave the weapons for a few of our ms classes... including what looks like, in the center of the emblem, a knuckle. So, my guess is maybe nexon mixed it up a bit and put pirates in C-wood Keep.

Before:

After: (excuse my pro ms paint skills plox)

Also, after seeing the Q&A with nxprose, I'm either thinking that gunslingers will be replaced by a ninja class (anyone else notice that only infighter jobs *were* in and soon taken out of the party search function?), or that the majority of enemies will be ninja-related.

Just something that I saw and thought was interesting... only speculation still. =(

Pirate Release Speculation - Germ - 2008-07-10

Aren't Ninjas and Sins the same crap? Oh God, what are they planning. -_-

Pirate Release Speculation - ShadowMarck - 2008-07-13

I'm expecting pirates for the second part of summer update. My friend thinks that we're gonna need to wait until October since MapleSEA is just getting it. Thing is, it isnt based on releases. As far as i know (and am concerned) they use the same language in SEA. I'm not really sure. The only difference I've seen is that they have "Ribgol Sword" and "Lozenge Dagger" as opposed to our "Stonetooh Sword" and "Diamond Dagger" Biggrin Also I dont think they'll mess with the guns like they did for Showa. Rolleyes

Hazzy Wrote:I expect Pirates either this Christmas, next summer, or on some date that relates to Pirates. :/
To get the data in 56-57 patch, and to have them installed in 58 or 59 would be a new record for Nexon, which seems unlikely.
next SUMMER?! oh god. no. Redface

I hope we get it soon

Pirate Release Speculation - Spadow - 2008-07-13

My speculation is that Pirates will be added to the game after Magatia. =]

Spadow Wrote:My speculation is that Pirates will be added to the game after Magatia. =]
That would be ideal in my eyes, however ChinaMS and TaiwanMS have proven that it's not necessary. I hope we get the pre-release events that they got before pirates are released in GMS.

Oh, and that map that looks like the entrance to Nautilus, it was also used as the Summer Fishing Event area in KMS. Not surprising it would be used for summer purposes in GMS too.

A friend of mine came up with something interesting the other day. Quote from another forum:
Lugin Wrote:Perhaps we need to be more subtle...

Seeing as how Showa was initially scheduled to be launched on Showa Day...

Someone should ask, "Do you have anything special planned for September 19th?"
That is, Talk Like A Pirate Day.

That is when I personally suspect they plan to release Pirates.

Wow that post totally led me to Pastafarianism, and I spent like an hour on Wikipedia x.x

I doubt Nexon would really pay much attention to such a...minor, barely celebrated holiday, but I'm ok with a September release date. Honestly, I don't see them cramming Pirates into a Holiday event, so if it's not at the end of the summer/slightly afterward, then I'm not expecting them till '09.

Well, the whole thing on Pirates being released in .60 as a Landmark patch looks to me like out of the question. It's to close. Our next patch is obviously Crimsonwood Keep, and I can bet $20 we'll get a bug patch, either before or after it to fix some issues. Although, It's still possible, but not probable.

Towards the CK Logo, as much as people might think it's a Knuckle, it's not. At least, this is what I assume. If you look at a scarab (Level 70 Claw) It's similar to it, being as there's a pointed blade on top of it. If you look at this, it's more like the end of a Trident on top of it. Almost the same concept, just tweaked a little bit.

Loose, that's a pretty cool concept the only thing is, Sept. 19th is a Friday. Patches are almost always Wednesday nights going into Thursday morning. Although, it could happen. I would love to see them released in September. Seems like the perfect time.

Anyways, does anyone have any information about Pirates being released before Magatia? Weren't there certain quests retaining to Magatia that had to deal with Pirates? What did they do to change this? Any info is nice.

Pirate Release Speculation - Eneko - 2008-07-13

I would like it to come during the summer. Because of school. Only reason why theyd like it to come out during school is so people dont rush it.

Eneko Wrote:hmm, with the logo they didnt put any daggers D: makes me sadFrown

I think the bottom of the fist is a dagger :f6:

At least the handle part...

.60 patch is impossible cause it's a NLC patch. i would assume Mostly for December Holidays because Nexon tends to put a lot of focus on the Holiday patches...

But, you never know. I'm assuming we'll be getting a lot of major updates through the rest of the year, cause Prose said Nexon was working on a BEST MAPLE YEAR EVAR Excellent

Pirates in December would not surprise me, but anything earlier will -hopes for an earlier release than December-

Magatia, Nautilus, and Elin Forest all have a common theme in that they deal with an enigmatic character in Ossyria's past, the Black Magician. The Black Magician ruled Ossyria from Magatia, is being hunted down by the Pirates of the Nautilus, and is responsible for poisoning the Elin Forest during the first expedition to Victoria Island.

However, you don't discover the tale of the Black Magician in Magatia until a very high level for that town (and by this I mean 60-80 area, I don't know exactly when.) The main quests dealing with the Black Magician in Nautilus port are low level (level 20 something), so a character going through the game for the first time would do the Nautilus quests first anyway. For a reasonably high level player, they would encounter the storyline in the order of Magatia >Nautilus>Elin, while a player who started after all this content was released would encounter it in the order Nautilus > Elin >Magatia. Because of this, while the towns are related, either one can be released first without impacting the tale conveyed in the stories.

I've been believing that it was a Knuckle, because I thought the spikes were a bit too long for a claw. Then, I remembered the Craven and Dragon "Sleve".
