Choosing Starters - Dual - 2010-03-22

Greg Wrote:Fire starters are for casuals.

And the first two gyms in Kanto are Rock and Water. Totally sounds like an easy fight.

My starter choices were:
Red- Charmander (Soloed the Elite 4 with it)
Silver- Totadile (Soloed the Elite 4 with it)
Ruby- Torchic (Soloed the Elite 4 with it)
Diamond- Turtwig (Empoleon really does suck)

And I started off my Soul Silver by getting myself my good ol' Totadile again.

So I pick anything. I'm still gonna catch me a badass Pidgey and make it into a super powered Pidgeot.

"BOSS, I'VE GOT AN IDEA"

"What is it, Ralph?!"

"ALRIGHT... WE'RE GONNA TAKE SOME RANDOM ANIMAL THAT LIVES IN THE WATER SO CHILDREN CAN EASILY RECOGNIZE IT..."

"Alright?!"

"...AND PUT BLUE ALL OVER IT!"

"THAT'S BRILLIANT!"

Okay, bro.

And I am mostly screwing with you. The only water starter I don't like is Totodile, and Mudkip in his first form only. Grass starters are completely horrible though. I mean, Turtwig, wtp? They seriously got away with Turtwig?

Torterra would like a word with you.

Why so much Grass hate? Bulbasaur and Treecko are among my favorite Pokemon.

Nobody messes with Venusaur. I love all of the grass starters.

Yes, even Treecko.

Rather have a turtle with a tree growing in it's back than some deformed wobbuffet.

Gen 1: Squirtle. No exceptions.
Gen 2: Typhlosion
Gen 3: Mudkip
Gen 4: Turtwig

Metagame is extremely fun, you got my point across. Thanks.

You don't need metagame for the main story.

Thanks.

You mean that Venusaur rip off? Please.

Treecko and Grovyle are awesome, Sceptile however is not.

Sorry, can't hear you over how awesome I am.

That's a flower.

Treecko is by far my most favourite grass starter pokemon. Then when he evolves he turns into sh`it.

Why get Venusaur when Blastoise was the king of cool back in R/B/Y? Water cannons on a giantic turtle. What's not to like? Torterra = Venusaur rip-off? More like Venusaur improvement.

Most grass types and fire types can be replaced. I don't like any of the water pokemon other than the starters, Gyarados and Lapras.

More like a palm tree.

Someone hasn't played DPPt.

Is there a reason to carry a grass Pokemon at all?

???

I always went with fire and water, depending on which was more badass.

No way, Sceptile is just as awesome as its pre-evos.

I always go for the best looking one.
