Dusk Wrote:Actually thanks to Boost MM typically have in the area of 20-25% higher base damage than Corsairs. So Pierce is about as strong as Torpedo.

With the notable difference of it spreading its damage unevenly, while Torpedo is an even spread. So, assuming each monster gets KB'd, Torpedo wins, because Pierce would kill 1 monster faster, then the next, etc, slowly losing DPS while even-spread attacks would not.

In this scenario, we're talking about bosses.
In a training scenario, the back monster would die first, thus DPS to the front monsters won't change at all. Net DPS will go down because there's one less monster, but the same can be applied to the first monster for the Corsair, due to Bullseye, and even more so because the Corsair would then have to use another Bullseye.

Pierce does more damage to the monsters farther back. That's the only reason its DPS is so high. Without those farther back, its damage becomes less and less important, and 1v1 skills become more useful. The Corsair, meanwhile, will maintain the same DPS rate while killing all monsters, and loses no advantages by killing off a monster. And we
re talking about bosses, as you said, so why bring up monsters?

In short, Pierce does increasing damage on larger mobs, hence higher 1v6 DPS. 1v4 DPS is less significant compared to Torpedo, which is stable hit %.[/COLOR]

I think there's some kind of filter at work preventing me from uploading anything, but I ran the numbers based off my single target DPS spreadsheet and made a makeshift mob DPS comparer. I got some pretty surprising results

With 12 att pot, 20 magic pot, no buffs and 6-mobbing:
Pierce - 403k
Fury - 356k
Torpedo - 313k
Big Bang for lukless AM - 309k
Dragon Strike (can't be spammed, though) - 307k
ACB on neutral monsters - 304k
Brandish (1h sword) - 293k
Meteo/Blizzard - 254-282k
Crusher - 275k
Step + BoT - 253k
.
.
.
and lol at the bottom of the pack:
three BM mobbing skills - 168-178k
Avenger without Venom - 144k
