Yea, theres been a lot of use of pirates items, more than any other area for an unrelated thing, my guess is still in august for the release, if not september, I cant really think of a major holiday in those two months that would have an event, so they seem logical to me if they release them this year. Who knows, maybe theyll give us a X-mas present ala Pirates Angry

Fiel Wrote:Yes, Afrobean, but did they use Leafre or Showa or English Town like... five times in a row? This isn't the first time we've seen pirate graphics on an ad like this.
Um... yes...? I know they definitely used Showa imagery more than a few times. Likely not with the prevelence that they have with the "Pirate" ones, but then again, this one is the first one which is inherently pirate related too. The other ones were map objects and non-descript NPCs from Nautilus Port. This one actually shows Pirates, riding in the battleship, one of them having a gun drawn.

And I'm willing to admit this is a tease. But it's not a hint. It doesn't clue us in to when, how, or what, or give us a riddle or clue. We already knew it WOULD be coming, so this doesn't change a thing.

Edit:

I think you might have found our release date @_@ depending on if Nexon knows of this @-a

I found nothing. Someone identified it on Sleepywood.net and I merely recalled they had mentioned it.

And I'm sure they know it if they're intending to partake in it. Something else the person I mentioned above took note of was that Showa Town's patch was originally scheduled on Showa Day (which, I believe, has nothing to do with what Showa Town is).

They've given many so called "hints". In my opinion they are just taking the graphics from other versions and placing it there because it fits...

This is still a possibility, but theres just been so many so close together.

I agree, but this one has nothing to do with anything.

The other graphics they've used can be explained away. They used the NPC with the telescope because it was about spotting bugs. They used the octopus in the water because it's summer. They used the dock graphic because it's summer.

But why did they use the two Pirates in the ship? Because TCG? Because a winner was chosen? It doesn't make a lick of sense.

Because they're the Pirates from the Pirate ads for KMS.

So if there's no nerf will they fix Showa? Yes please?

More Pirate Hints. - ZartMorder - 2008-07-16

Don't count on it. Showa monsters were probably modified because they depicted modern weapons while the pirate class uses old fashioned guns. Which is a child more likely to come across these days? (Hopefully neither. >_<)

I dont know about everyone else, but if they release pirates on "Talk like a pirate day" (I remember them mentioning it at my high school but I never remebered the date cause I found it corny xD), then that would be like saying we get Magatia on Valentines day (cause the plot is Romeo/Julliet like from what I remember hearing and that's a "love" kinda thing).

Iono, do you need Magatia before pirates? >_>

It's not really needed. Check near the bottom of the first post.

Well, they did also remove other weapons, weapons that Maplers themselves can actually use (such as the Brick or the sword). This means the defining factor is the enemies using these weapons against the players, not the weapons themselves.

Another change they made is that the enemies aren't actually human. The enemies are monsters in disguise. In jMS, they're literally murdering human gangsters, but in gMS, we're defeating monsters who are masquerading as humans.

So therefore, the problem is that they
#1: don't like the enemies using as menacing weapons as that, even ones Maplers can use themselves.
#2: don't want Maplers killing humans.

The gunner Pirate subclass doesn't suffer from either of these things. Obviously.

ps as Berserk said via proxy of Loose's post, it's not needed. In fact, Berserk's own post quoted a thorough explanation by Isaac that pointed out that the quests relating to the connection would be played first through Nautilus before reaching the higher level quests at Magatia.

They took it straight from MSEA and neglected to change the text. Rolleyes

The point he was making is that tons of things can be read into as "hints", but Nexon really doesn't do hints. The closest thing they'll do is early announcements (like 4th job), or Q&A about version original areas coming.

according to many people, showa was nerfed because nexon america didnt want human enemies to use a gun against players. But when a pirate fights the clone during 3rd job advancement, would the clone be using guns against the player. The clone is also human shaped. This mean both the player and the clone would be shooting each other wouldn't it? and isn't this what nexon america don't want?
