Why don't you take a screenshot of the error?
These kind of applications usually anchor deep into the System.
And don't try to run any application while playing. You'll get AB'd, thanks to FPS. FalsePositiveShield.

I had the same problem. For me it was a problem with the shortcut.
I fixed it by changing the shortcut target from C:\Nexon\MapleStory\Database to C:\Nexon\MapleStory\MapleStory.exe

mine is worst!
my other computers, MS is doing fine, DL the patch as it is. BUT my pc in my room, it wont connect to MS. So i decided to reformat my pc and DL MS again. Right now, my MS is doing fine and i dont encounter DC'ng and hackshield errors anymore.

For all those getting the .dll error, I fixed mine by making sure to completely uninstall Maple before I reinstalled. I used the same download I had from earlier to reinstall, and it works fine now.

I doubt someone who doesn't know how to download Maplestory knows how to take a screenshot of the error.
