I'm currently playing most of the remake series of Dragon Quest on my DS (4-6) and also 9.

Only going on Maple Fridays for Horntail.

My god man I've been having a Harvest Moon addiction for the past two and a half weeks. I've been playing the pomegranate out of Sunshine Islands and I can't wait until I "beat" it so I can move on to Rune Factory 2. All other games are on hold. =D

Hm, I've been considering to play Okami since I've first heard of it a year or two ago; but I don't own a PS2- and my new PS Triple Slim does not support playing PS2 games; forcing me have to use the Wii port of Okami. I'm a little skeptical about how a Wii version might turn out because I'd imagine the controls might be so-so and the controls might feel less precise and somewhat awkward. Would anyone care to inform me how good the Wii version is?

The guy at the counter gave me the bonus content for preordering... but I never preordered.

That game is great. Don't forget to visit the Pit of 100 trials often! Also, pure BP playthroughs are fun (and pretty damn easy, if you know what you're doing.)

Right now... God of War for the PS2. It's pretty fun. I have GoW2 ready to play when I'm done with the first one, too. God of War is mind-breakingly annoying for people like me; I like to explore every corner and find every chest, but there's more goddamn junctions in the paths than a pineappleing motherboard. It drives me nuts when I pick the "right" junction first and I'll never know what was in the other direction.

I'm also playing Chrono Trigger on my DS for the umpteenth time. It's more investigative work at this point. I'm trying to figure out which team is easier to go through the game as: Lucca and Ayla, Robo and Ayla, or Lucca and Robo. Here's some in-depth Chrono talk for those that are interested.

Rules

I go through the game avoiding as many random battles as possible (with the exception of Magus' castle -- I make sure to get Glenn Heal before fighting him), but fight any random battles I run into. As far as sidequests, I attempted a run through with Lucca and Ayla while doing all the sidequests, but it was way too easy. So now I've resigned to doing just Crono's revival, the Rainbow Shell (Prism Helms pls), and one run through the Black Omen. I usually am level 9 by the first trip to the End of Time, level 29 before challenging Giga Gaia, and level 43 for the fight with Lavos in my new, shorter playthroughs.

Up to the Dreamstone Party

Since I planned to do 3 different playthroughs, I figured I'd save myself some time by using the same base file up to the point where I have to decide between the 3 character sets in question. I used Robo and Lucca instead of Marle and Lucca (as I have done for all of my playthroughs ever) for Heckran Cave, Zombor, and Masamune's Mountain. That turned out much better than I thought. Robo's Rocket Roll/Supersonic Spin clears Heckran Cave and most other random battles with much greater ease than I'm used to. The fight with Zombor was about the same as usual. Masamune was also about the same. The lack of Aura Whirl didn't matter nearly as much as I thought it would. I made my base save file before talking with Ayla to start the sake drinking.

By the way, Crono is assumed as a party member, even for late game, because 1)He's a good character and 2)You invest so much time and TP into him, it'd be a waste not to use him. Besides, being forced to use him for so long doesnt' really let you raise a third member.

Lucca and Robo

So far, this is the only playthrough I've completed. I decided to give my Power Tabs/Capsules to Crono, and split my Magic and Speed Tabs between Lucca and Robo. I also pretty much had to wear Speed Belts on them for most of the game, those slow whores.
Nizbel: I killed a few frogs (two runs through the forest) for trading materials (Sword, Gun, Arm, and Ruby Vests) before talking to Ayla for the party. After the party I decided to take Robo to Nizbel because he's my only healer and I've always taken Lucca in the past. Nizbel was pretty easy, but then he always is. Stone -> Sword -> Flashbacks -> Water for Glenn -> Mountain Cutting -> Magus' castle.
Magus: Once again, I decided to take Robo for this one. Turns out Rocket Roll/Supersonic Spin is amazing for clearing out most of the enemies in the castle. I'd say it's even better than Ice Water. This combination also allows for Triple Attack, which made quick work of Slash, but Flea was still annoying as usual. Yadda Yadda got Heal, fought Magus with Lucca instead of Robo. With Glenn spamming Heal, this fight is cake. Lucca was very helpful. Finally able to use my true team (Lucca and Robo) for the climb up the mountain. Then more forced character usage >.>
Black Tyrano: Lucca the whole way. No problems at all. This is a pretty good team for climbing the tower, and a very good team for killing the Tyrano. Nizbel II always has the same tactics: spam Volt Bite and heal with the third character. Tyrano is made much easier by Ruby Vests. From this point, I can use my intended team until Crono decides to liquefy himself.
Giga Gaia: I got somewhat lucky against the 6 Nus, but if I wanted to play it safe I would have spammed Heal Beam. Ruby Vests and Robo Tackle + Fire Sword (in that order) made Golem a joke. I decided to get nearly everything I could get with my shiny new pendant. The important things are the Gold Stud, Magic Ring, Tough Ring, Speed Ring, colored Vests, and some various tabs. I chose the Swallow over the Safe Helm because it would end up being the sword I use to and through the end of the game, for lack of a Rainbow. The Beasts and Mud Imp weren't much of a problem. I mostly used Fire Tackle and Lightning 2. I love Gold Rocks! They die in one Swallow crit (which it seems to do often), and they get me all the abilities I could ever want. I ended up at Giga Gaia with Confuse/Frenzy, Uzi Punch, and Megaton Bomb. I didn't have any particularly great techs for dealing with Giga, but he still went down pretty quickly with the previously mentioned abilities. Colored vests are helpful.
Golem Twins: Dalton isn't worth mentioning. Sprinted through most of the underwater Omen. The colored eyes were somewhat annoying, but I only ended up having to kill the blue ones with physical attacks. Fire 2 and Lit 2 were used to clear out most of the mobs. Fire Zone is surprisingly weak. The Twins themselves were incredibly easy with the same strategy as before. Fire Vests -> Fire 2 -> Frenzy -> Double Bomb -> Win. I think Fire is their worst element. Crono gets vaporized, lots of story, etc.
Dalton: I took Ayla as my third companion on the Blackbird because she rocks. I was (luckily) able to kill 3 turrets before they disappeared. Their avoid is so much higher than the Gold Rocks. Golem Boss died before he even got to 1, thanks to Double Bomb. Dalton was lol.
Crono's Revival: After sucking at the Mime game (I blazed through the instructions and didn't see which button was Laugh), I headed up to fight the three Lavos' Spawns. Fire Tackle and Cat Attack made quick work of the three of them. In hindsight, this didn't deserve it's own bolded section. They're crazy easy.
Zeal: You may be wondering why I did this before the Rainbow Shell. Well, I thought I could beat the game without the Shell, but I came out of the Omen at level 40 with nowhere near enough magic defense to make Lavos any kind of beatable, so I went back to get the shell (because of the helms, 9 mdef each). The Omen was pretty hard because I didn't have my usual status immunity and I came in at a pretty low level. This team doesn't have any particularly good screen clearing Double Techs, so I resigned myself to putting a Gold Stud on Lucca and spamming Flare (I didn't have Luminaire until halfway through the Omen). Also, yay for stealable Speed Tabs! Mutants were easy, Greater Lavos spawn was easy, Zeal I was easy, Mammon Machine was pretty easy. Actually, I think I did worse against the Tubsters than any boss in that area. Zeal's Face was incredibly easy thanks to having Robo lead the team. I don't think any team could kill her faster than Double Bomb + Frenzy.
Yakra XVIII: At this point I was a bit too strong for this area, so the whole thing was a cakewalk. The Rust Tyrano took a little time to kill, but no problems otherwise. Trials are slow and annoying. Chancellor XVIII can rot in his box for all I care.
Lavos: Robo was still OHKO'd by his starting attack. After Life+Megalixer, I decided my plan for the arms was Flare, Luminaire, and Shock/Heal Beam. The head died to Frenzy, Uzi, and Flare. By the way, he has some sort of eye-beam that's a bit stronger than his initial armageddon, so Life was used a few more times. Poor Robo. His last form was actually pretty hard for this team. The left bit died immediately to Frenzy+Uzi Punch, but then Lucca died shortly after to a giant f'ucking rock. The center bit was annoyingly hard to kill. Once the core put down its defenses, I spammed Luminaire and Flare while I could, but I had to put Robo on healing duty until the center bit died. Once it did, I was finally able to barrage the core with a whole lot of Double Bombs. Even though he revived the bits, I was able to take him down before they were able to do any real damage to me. Life was used more often than I made it sound, by the way.

Overall Rating: 8/10
Unfortunately, a lot of this team's best power is wholly situational. More specifically, only if the enemy is really close to Robo. In this case, you can use Max Cyclone early game and Double Bomb late game. If Double Bomb is usable, their power is pretty much unrivaled. However, they don't really have much going for them if the enemy is far away. Double Volt is only barely stronger than Luminaire due to the horrible magic stats of the two characters involved, so Flare is your main skill for taking out the screen. Even worse, Flare isn't gotten until fairly late-game, and it's not nearly as strong as some other screen-wide attacks. Most notibly Twister, Inferno, and Antipode 3. The difference in power could easily mean the difference between a screen of dead enemies, and a screen of mostly-dead enemies. Still, this team is better than almost any team involving Glenn or Marle, so it still gets a generally good score. I just think the other two teams will end up better.

Ayla and Robo

I'm mostly through this playthrough. I'm just about to revive Crono. I decided to give the Power Tabs to Ayla. At first I decided to give Ayla the Magic tabs too, but after giving her 5 of them I thought I'd give them to Crono instead. Luminaire has a crazy multiplier, so I figure they'd benefit him more than the others the way my team is set up.
Nizbel: I did my trading material farming after the party, this time. I used Robo as my tertiary character, obviously. It went just as well as the above playthrough. Sidenote: Rocket Roll is pretty amazing for dealing with those little peon Reptites.
Magus: I used Robo the whole time. It went really well (as noted before) for the Slash fight, but Magus was a totally different story this time. Magus has incredibly high defense for the first 3333 HP, and if you look at my team, you'll notice none of them have very good magic stats or attacks. As such, the first half of the fight went very slowly. Cure Beam was pretty much spammed, and I used Sword Stream or Lightning when I could. Triple Attack made the second half of the fight very quick and easy, though.
Black Tyrano: At this point, my team is more or less set. I put Berserk Rings on Ayla and Robo for most of the climb to the Tyrano and everything died very quickly. Nizbel II died to Volt Bite, again. The Tyrano himself was actually a huge problem, though. Azala, once again, is a character with low mdef and high phys def, so there was little more I could do than use Lightning and physical attacks. He even almost finished a countdown before I was able to kill Azala. Tyrano was killed with Volt Bite and Robo Tackle. Meh.
Giga Gaia: I knew the 6 Nus would be hard unless I played it safe, so I spammed my newly-acquired Lightning 2, put a Berserker Ring on Ayla, and spammed Heal Beam. No one died. Golem was a huge problem though. Since my team lacked fire, I decided to attack him with lightning, which it turns out is much stronger than Fire. Also, he sometimes does a weak, single-target "Flame" with Fire that's just great. With lightning he just kept using a full-screen strong attack that I had no decent armor to block. It went very slowly (with lots of Revive's and Heal Beams), but I was able to down him. I got all the same treasures (Swallow too) as the last playthrough and headed to the Imp. Even though I took quite a lot of damage from counter attacks, spamming Falcon Strike was a pretty quick victory. Gold Rocks died and Giga Gaia was reached. Both arms died in a single newly-acquired Twister (lol), so I didn't take any damage aside from their pre-emptive attacks. I think that's my best Giga fight ever on a first playthrough.
Golem Twins: Dalton died in a single Beast Toss. I put a Gold Stud on Ayla and wiped out most of the enemies with a single Twister (except the Scouters -- they died in a single Falcon Strike). The Twins were horrible though. I decided to use Shadow this time (which, it turns out, isn't really any different from lightning), and spent a very long time killing them. Beast Toss wasn't an option because of the horrid physical attacks the Golems have, so I ended up killing them with several Twisters.
Dalton: I took Glenn as my third character for some reason. 3 cannons died again, and the Golem Boss died incredibly quickly to Beast Toss. Dalton died in one Beast Toss again. He's funny.

This is as far as I am now. I'm about to go revive Crono.

(Tenative) Overall Rating: 9/10
This team is great for clearing out the little guys. You can spam physical attacks when you feel like conserving MP since their physical is high, and you can clear the screen pretty damn well mid and late game with Twister. This team's main weakness comes with a few specific bosses. Mainly, those with high physical defense early and mid-game and the Golem Twins. If you weren't rushing through the game like I was and you knew enough, you could learn Charm before heading to Mount Woe and get some Rainbow Helms from the local Mud Beasts (which resist Shadow) to plow through the Twins. Still, in situations like the Greater Lavos Spawn, Zeal's Face, Lavos and... most bosses that can't be Beast Tossed, Robo is a 5th wheel. All he has to offer in those situations is mediocre healing, mediocre single-target physical attacks, or mediocre full-screen magic attacks. No doubt this team is very powerful in many (especially non-boss) situations, but I think we can do better.

Ayla and Lucca

As I said before, I ran through with this team first on a ROM, albeit with a slightly more item-heavy route and all the side-quests done. However if you pump Ayla with all your Magic Tabs, Inferno becomes a force to be reckoned with. Luminaire and Inferno make quick work of any boss with multiple targets or random enemies, or you can switch to Blaze Kick and Frenzy for situations like Zeal's Face. As a sidenote, Kiss also heals for a pretty absurd amount when your Ayla has more than double of the magic she was intended to have. I'm pretty confident this will be my choice for the best team because they can adapt to the situation much better than the above teams while still being pretty damn powerful.

I remember once they ran out of pre-orders for a game I had pre-ordered and they just showed me a box of random pre-order leftovers to take whatever I liked. They only had crap though. Only real good stuff I've seen is given out to dev teams. Sure I got a jacket from one of my titles, but I wish I wasn't off when a certain Action RPG I liked passed through since they were giving out pirate flags.

Own Okami PS2 and rented Okami Wii. Sorry to say, but you are right that the controls are a bit off; although I suppose you can get used to it. If you think that you'd ever get a PS2, rent the Wii one just for the experience, then buy the PS2 one. Or you could do the whole free Gamestop 7 day rental thing if you want to be cheap :wink:.

Put it off for ages since I knew I'd have my ass handed to me, but I tried out The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil... and I was right.
Finally got around to finishing FF7 for the first time and proceeded to watch the movie. Sad this list of games on my shelves that I've never gotten around to finishing. It's pretty bad when you don't even remember what genre some of the games you own are.

As for right now, no more MS for a while. Replaying Psychonauts on the PC since it was 2 bucks the other day. Looking to take a stab at finishing the old megaman and sonic the hedgehog collections for the first time too. Been trying to finish Ar Tonelico, but I'm just not enjoying it as much as I did the Atlier Iris games for some reason even though they are practically the same. I also put down Valkrye Profile after I found out my first playthrough couldn't get the best ending 40 or so hours in, so I should get back to that. Then there's Star Ocean 2 which I never touched... and the incomplete xenosaga series.

*sigh* Just not enough platformers these days to balance out the RPGs I have to get through. I used to alternate through, but the trend seemed to be play RPG for 3 days, play and beat platformer for one day. I just can't find too many good ones with decent story/length anymore. And from what I'm learning from the PC Psychonauts, I don't really like how a PC handles with one. Wish I had the budget to buy a newer gen console... granted with 60+ incomplete games in my library, I just need to get done with what I got :f7:.

Anyone mind recommending one of the following games that I haven't touched from my collection for me to jump into next?

Metal Saga (PS2), Shining Tears (PS2), Star Ocean 2 (PS1), Rhapsody (PS1), Eternal Poison (PS2), Growlancer [Anything, got all of em] (PS2), Thousand Arms (PS1), MGS3 (PS2), FF 1,2,4,5,8 (PS1), Okage (PS2), Ys (PS2), Luminous Arc (DS), Ruin Factory (DS), Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (GC), Evolutionary Worlds (GC).

I realize some of those are likely to be crappy, but back when I had income, I had this strange obsession to own every RPG released for the PS2 around. As a collector, I regret that budget wasted which could have been used now for current gen stuff.

Okage. One of the very first PS2 RPGs and it's god awful but it's also a LOT of fun. Hilarious cast, tons of side-quests, and a semi-evil bad guy tag-along. So good.

edit: after Okage play Rhapsody. It's really bad in a really bad way but it's only like 12 hours long at most so...

Dante's Inferno and Bioshock 2. Honestly Dante's Inferno doesn't at all seem like its trying to be a god of war clone. Bioshock 2 is a very good game i want to see if the story as a good as part one as well.

Jenova.LIFE keeps owning me, so I put down FF7 for now. I'm probably going to replay kh2 or ratchet and clank 'till next month.

Only edit I made was changing rebirth to reunion, which are exactly the same part. Also what videos? There are none here.

Anyway, if it's the one in City of The Ancients, then you shouldn't need to be over level 35. That battle is easy, just pummel her.

Equip an aqua ring (should've found one in the city of the ancients) to someone and then try if that's your only problem.

For some reason, right from the start I had a "the butler did it feeling". Granted I'm not done yet, so there may be a plot twist.

Also, with practice, managed to get to 2 remaining bars on the last boss of EoSD. My pride as a gamer has improved seeing as I suck less than I thought. Course, learning that I could focus has a lot to do with it.
and I'll probably head off to some PS1 titles after that.

A question for those who already own a PS3. I am downsizing quite a bit now getting rid of as many cartridges/disks/boxes as possible, and while there are several more PS1 games I am interested in buying to play, I'm only now looking into the list of PSN games. Would I be better off cost wise to get a PS3 and buy/wait (for) some games on the PS1, or just buy the disks themselves for PS1 (Note all that is left are the expensive rare games for me that each cost 30$-130$). Also, I keep having corruption on my PS2 memory card and I'm afraid to lose any more data, so basically I would be buying the PS3 to play old games and as a backup device with the perk of 2-3 games for the system itself that I was interested in. Of course I'd be looking for a 60GB unit.

In a comparative situation, I am selling a good deal of my N64 collection and buying some of them back on virtual console due to the apparent rarity of some of them getting me a profit.

So which makes more sense for someone running out of room with only what he can trade in for the money to buy stuff?

PS3's don't come with backwards compatability any longer so if I read what you're saying right, that's what you're interested in and therefore are barking up the wrong tree. The PSN is constantly releasing old PS1 games (reformatted to play on the PS3, of course) but it's not fast and some games seem to have a pretty slim chance. Just buy the ones you want.

Also NEVER EVER EVER back up save data onto your PS3 or use it as data storage. It corrupts ps2 save data.

Atlantica Online and Grand Fantasia on my PC. Only other game I currently touch is MAG for my PS3.

Replaying Samurai Legend: Musashi on the PS2 and Suikoden Tierkreis on the DS while waiting for Final Fantasy 13 and Pokemon HG.

Been playing Left 4 Dead and the sequel a lot lately, though I still hop on Maple every now and then. Trying to get those achievements... xP

Finished Okage and another playthrough of Mario Galaxy and got my corrupt GC stuff relatively back and organized. Still need to replay through some of my unfinished RPGs there too.

Just got Suikoden so I'm probably going to jump into it right away after everything I've heard; a friend who was obsessed with it in the past had the nickname of one of the characters and literally was like a Bible to him :f6:. He once gave me some sort of PC cracked Chinese version of it along side some platforming fan game based on it, so I have a little experience with it, granted I had no idea what was going on. Anywho, hope all that positive feedback makes this a good investment of mine.

Side question: I've been looking at the Shin Megami Tensei series for a while (wanted every RPG for the PS2 ever at some point), but I never found a real starting point for it. Are the stories dependent on one another or are they all independent? Is the Persona sub-series all that different from the main branch? And finally which game, if any, would be recommended for getting into the series? Mind you, I only have about 100$ in credit remaining to buy some older used stuff.

Playing the crap out of Blazblue this week. I'm playing in Final Round, an Atlanta tournament this weekend. I'm just hoping to not get my ass handed to me.

I'm playing Avalon Code right now for the DS and I must say, this is an awesome game. It's from the people who redesigned FF III and IV on the DS (it's not Squeenix for those who thinks so). The whole system is in 3D which is impressive on a DS, the graphics are comparable to Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and Phantasy Star 0. The music isn't too bad, I have yet to be annoyed with it.

What makes the game worth picking up is how much micro-managing is involved in playing it. You collect "codes" and store it in your book...

You know what, I'm not in the mood on elaborating this game. There's a perfectly good review of it on GameFAQs.

Just the other week I picked up my copy Mario & Luigi: Super Star Saga and messed around on it. My save file was right before the end of the game. I don't recall ever beating the final boss on it, so I got back in the groove of things and finished it. It's actually pretty funny because after I did beat it I had to escape the castle with a countdown timer running and didn't remember all the bros. out-of-battle combinations for normal game play. So I frantically tried to remember all of them. I did eventually make it out, but there must have been like 9 seconds left on the timer when I did get out.

I finished Wild Arms yesterday, did a couple of the extra side-quests too.


Now I'm playing Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure.

I've been playing Soul Silver since Baklava left to get it. He vanished for nearly five hours.

I went and bought a pair of seabands the other day, and hijacked my brother's copy of Modern Warfare to try them out. Works pretty well - I managed to get in about 3 hours of play before nausea set in. Gonna grab a bargain bin copy of Assassin's Creed 1 next. I'll have to run it on my macbook pro since my geriatric desktop can't handle it. Hope the macbook doesn't fry.

In other news, I seem to have stopped playing Maplestory altogether. Not surprising, but I wonder if it'll be permanent this time. I still have some NX left that I want to use up before moving on, so I'm thinking of trying out Dungeon Fighter or Mabinogi.

Beat FFXIII so it's not in rotation anymore.

Suikoden Spoiler + rant.

I can't seem to get away from this pattern, even in games, and it's really pissing me off. You ever hear the saying "be careful what you wish for"? It's the story of my life. I always get what I halfheartedly wish for at a cost I wasn't really willing to pay.

Anyway, I hadn't read any spoilers on Suikoden at all, and coming into it all I knew about it was that there were 108 characters and one of them was named Flik (friend of mine's self appointed nickname). I'm progressing through the story nicely and noticing that Gremio just won't leave the required party and his stats suck. I start to get a bit pissed at the character and wish there was some way I could get rid of him without a downside to the story. Lo and behold he dies... :f6: :f7: :hothead: :f4:

Now I just have to wait for my trade in site to get Suikoden 2 in stock so I can put my trade in to use. Not that I'm counting on someone to sell off Suikoden for only 75$.

One of the sadder moments in video game history. Suikoden II does it much better though.

Also MILICH OPENHEIMER hahaha. His music is so good. You're going to run into a guy named Vincent later who starts a trend that sends waves through the series (from 1 - 5). The music never stops.

As for how I feel about it:

Another thing I'm not so fond of. Ending with all the character's life stories after the game ends. I know there are sequels, but it just always gives me the feeling of "They all lived happily [or not] ever after... now forget about them, they lived out their lives and your done with them so stop thinking they have another adventure. Ordinary lives are fine too.

I dunno why, but I just don't like closure like that. I'm fine if you end it where everyone is happy together right after the climax, but having to state that they all go they're separate ways and never see each other again bothers me.


Another thing. Saying something about a person's goals and leaving it be/areas that look eventually accessible but never are. There were a few characters that mention their personal goals here and people they seek, but never get around to doing anything to that end in this game. Again, I realize this has a sequel, but it's another of my pet peeves. Worst one in another game for me was an underground treasury at a mayor's place where the guard says your not allowed in without permission, and it looks like a fully accessible area, but it's never mentioned again once you pass by the area.

Anyway, regardless of pet peeves, it was a good game. Thinking about the time of release, I'd say this was a masterpiece of it's time. Maybe I've been spoiled, but I thought that the characterization could use just a bit more depth to be a timeless classic. Just wish I had the next one lying around somewhere right now. I could always go back to that guy I bought it for and ask him to lend it to me... after all he owed me 40$... then aagin, I haven't seen him in 4 years so it might not be the best greeting.

As for what I'm playing now, the next ratchet game and persona 4 have gained my interest while I was testing them, although I really should get to finishing some of the old ones. Gonna see if I can go back and finish Xenosaga II or La Pucelle for now.

Seeing as it's been a couple weeks, I'm gonna double post here.

Finished Rhapsody, Ratchet: Deadlocked and somehow got my hands on a copy of Suikoden II. Most likely going to throw that in very soon.

Synopsis of Rhapsody

Well, let me start by saying I'm glad I'll never watch that OP song again. This game made me think to all the Japanese songs I've ever listened to and realize how stupid or outright embarrassing many of them sound if I were to hear them in English. I suppose that even though I understand bits and pieces without subs, it isn't a primary language for me so I don't get embarrassed by words that should do so. Regardless, once I got past the fact that in the game's title, it was called a "musical adventure" I looked at it as a middle-school play instead and found myself able to tolerate it more; since I've played a main role in a musical way back when too.

Another thing. Atlus really seemed irritable and egotistical when translating this game. All those bookcase remarks, references to other games Atlus translated and hinting them to be "too dirty", even breaking down the 4th wall and saying "well that's what happens when you make a direct translation". I'm not sure if that's how the content was initially portrayed but it just seemed to add too much of a modified touch. It didn't really affect the main storyline or any dialog, so it wasn't too big of a deal.

My last little gripe is about the difficulty. The game was way too easy. You can beat 75% of the game's bosses+spawn with a technique you know from the start and costs 0MP (after certain conditions are met) in one turn.

Other than those issues, I think it was a decent game. Nothing award winning, but playing it once, I wouldn't go back and call it a waste of my time. Oh and the pause anytime glitch after seeing the credits was fun.

By the way, this thread seems dead. Does that have anything to do with the implementation of blogs here?

A few questions regarding blogs

Well, I've been around on the internet for a little over 14 years now, but I've never really gotten into social networking stuff like Blogs or whatnot so I was wondering what their premise is. I noticed earlier that self-oriented topics should be placed there and beyond that I'm not certain what should go there. I've had a few ideas for discussions for a while a long with a few short personal rants that I don't expect responses from and I've had trouble figuring out where they would be most appropriate. I've heard that the Funhouse has become degenerate cesspool so I'd rather not place topics for discussion there, but at the same time some of them aren't really overly intelligent or rants. For example, "What's one thing about yourself you don't think anyone else has experienced?". I'd wager that the first response I get will be to just look up the textbook definition of a blog before asking questions, but I'd prefer to know the appropriate place to bring up certain things. Especially if this thread is dead, I'd like to know whether or not Blogs would be the appropriate stomping grounds.

Beat Alundra just a few days ago, played the whole thing without a walkthrough. So many times I would get stuck on a puzzle and just put it down for a while and later on when I finally solved it, well, it felt so rewarding.

When I wasn't playing Alundra, I was playing MapleStory. Got my Evan to 4x and quit it, got my Aran from 5x to 7x.

I'm not sure of what I want to play now.

Currently playing through Professor Layton and the Curious Village. I've only used a walkthrough once: it was actually for Matthew's roadkill dog puzzle in the beginning of the game. I had a hard time figuring out how the game wanted me to sprawl out the dog's legs, and so I wound up checking a walkthrough to see how it was done. As of now, I finished Chapter 4 and should be starting Chapter 5 next time I play.

Amazing game. I guess the puzzles are really memorable, because I know exactly which one you're talking about. I had to use a walkthrough for the chocolate puzzle and the very last sliding puzzle at the end of the game.

Going to wait til the next Persona game comes out for PSP.

Finally beat Cid Raines in FF XIII so I can actually move past this 1 month block. DFO/Maple when not on Ps3.

Twisted Metal: Head On: Extra Twisted Edition. Then I am going to play through Black again. And then 2.

After about 30 hours of straight gameplay, i finally finished Just Cause 2 with 28&#37; completion.

Amazing game, though i thought the ending kind of sucked.

I should be playing Just Cause 2 but I haven't touched it in a couple weeks. But I got PixelJunk: Shooters last night and I'll probably play that for a while.

This thread has it's ups and downs, they're in no way related to the blog system. Your little review things would work just as well there but they're infinitely more likely to be seen here because very few people actually check blogs regularly.

Anyway, right now I've got a load of games on the go.

Replaying Suikoden 3, 5 and Tierkreis. Just re-beat 4 about a week ago. What an awful game that was. Makes me sad that it's a Suikoden.

Also sort of re-playing Star Ocean 2, and ...playing Lunar for the PSP though I've beat the PS1 version of it before and this is no different.

Mostly I'm just waiting for Red Dead Redemption though.

Got HeartGold in the mail yesterday, FF13 on the 360.
