You have points that are hard to argue with, but this above quoted notion is hogwash
I am of course of the opinion that the lvl 200 of yore is more worthy of awe (in this context mind you, not in any other field) than the new ones, but to reduce everything less to meaninglessness is almost arrogant and definitely inaccurate. What has meaning is what you got out of the experience, not where you ended up. Especially not when the goal is an imagined place on a virtual podium.
Re: 31/1 - Characters max level increased to 250!
You guys wanna know something that'll blow your minds? Most of us DON'T think it's that easy to lvl. Most don't even get past 150. I think the whole 200 is too easy is a relatively loud minority tbh.

Casual gamers didn't go far and eventually quit MapleStory back then because to do anything required time, effort, setting goals, and dedication to achieving them. But because a company needs to expand, and because of the massive rise in casual gaming since then thanks to the iPhone and other mobile devices, it only makes sense that they've streamlined the game now so everyone can do anything with minimal effort and funds. Hence why all of the casual gamers are now back playing MapleStory and saying they're "still having fun with it."
I left maplestory for diablo 3 but before its launch there were threads on the official forum stating that it was too simplified for the casual audience and lacked the depth compared to its predecessors.
Of course, there were arguments against it at the time but I left diablo 3 regardless a month after release.
Soon the developers agreed and added an increased cap (paragon levels) with other options for endgame but that didn't do much when there was so much wrong with the core gameplay.
Recently the original game director has announced that he was leaving diablo 3 and the company is now doing everything they can to assure players it will become a better game.
Maplestory (as well as current new iterations of past games these days) have seen a similar treatment when they're expanding to a broader audience.
I don't think that a max cap increase and new high level content is enough to change things but time will tell.
Re: 31/1 - Characters' max level is increased to 250!
inb4 hypers are being "upgraded" into 5th job skills :f3:

This. As I get higher and higher leveled, training becomes harder and harder to stand.

^This
Just because a few people who spend a fortune and prepare months in advance, have a large network of help, and are willing to train for 24 hours straight can hit 200 in a day on an overpowered new class does not mean that is easy for the majority of players. I think its a bad thing that Nexon seems to be redesigning the game based mainly on what the top 1% can do. (Thinking of this topic plus all higher bosses made near impossible in KMS)

I made it to 180 before big bang and around 140-150ish before 4th job came out. I realise that you'd like to keep your pride as a veteran level 200 on one char, maybe two at that point. Take those memories and look the best at them instead of saying this is like nexon is stabbing you in the back. Who cares if theres this 200% luk funded xenon getting level 200-250 in a week or maybe less, we all know ranks arent as they used to be, I mean in EMS when you reach level 200 we're all rank 1, which is stupid. I dont even remember what rank I was when I got my bm to lvl 200.
Its not just nexon who does this to make their game more appealing, pokemon does it too. I'd like them to remove all pokemons after 2nd generation because you have no clue wth they are thinking anymore. They release a couple new 100-200 pokemons every game and nobody looks back to the old good pikachu and so on. To me, new things are fun, but balacing the old to perfection is more exiting.

What a joke. ~40% an hour at 18x without even having HS or any sort of experience multiplier is NOT difficult.
Being lazy doesn't mean something is hard, it means you're lazy.

It doesn't mean they're lazy. I can understand why people don't want to grind 4+ hours a day doing repetitive pomegranate. When I was training my DB at KSH a few months ago in PUGs (pick up groups) I would often find myself falling asleep because it's boring when you're literally just holding down a key. People find entertainment in this game in different ways, doesn't make them lazy. To note, though, I don't mind grinding at all when I'm with a party of guildies and such because we talk over Axon (kinda like Skype) and pre-occupy ourselves (and make fun of each others' damage).

Wait, what? You should check out the new exp tables, level 249-250 takes as much exp as it takes you to go from 1-200 2 freaking times. I expect a month for the most dedicated players and years for the casuals to hit this new cap.

Saw this on Basil. Fairly certain it's fake, but I can't tell for sure. Does anyone know more?

No point in believing it until a more legitimate site shows it. If its real it will show up here in good time.

Huh? Download KMST, the increase is already in game.

Actually, it's just missing Cannon Shooter and Dual Blade, since those are the only other classes outside of the original Adventurers that had name changes per job advancement. Everything else would still be the same.
Either way, that is incredibly obviously fake. It would've been posted all over this site long before it had ever been accepted to Basil. Don't believe in that garbage.

I think he's talking about the names of the 5th jobs, which aren't in KMST.
Re: 31/1 - Characters max level increased to 250!
The image with the ''5th job names'' is fake.

This is exactly what I mean when I say "Gosh do I not like to train in this game". I can train for hours in an RPG, play non-stop, read 400-600 page books in a few hours flat but I draw the line at grinding 4+ hours in Maple because it doesn't make me feel accomplished (Oh cool, 5 AP and 3 SP! Time to add this and repeat 30 more times), I don't feel like I've progressed much once I'm in the 140's and 150's, most actual improvement would have to be cash-based and I shun training at the same spot as a rule. It's fine if you want to say that you like that but even my friends talk about how crazily bored they feel while we're doing PQs together and my idea of good gaming usually does not involve "Whack X for 2309509 times", so our idea of what an accomplishment is definitely differs.
