The explorer set is only some number of all stats, which pales in comparison to the 10/20/40/80 STR you could be getting from another Kaiser, which is worth much more on a Hero. So, yes, it's worth it.

So with Kaiser/Burster/Luminous being crazy good with their +stats, is it worth having the Pirate card set anymore for that +6% ignore defense?

But the pally card is 300 dmg w/ a L 200 main, + the set affect, can the kaiser card outweigh them both?

yep, if you have 2 L200s of each, youd get 160 STR/DEX

yep, if you have 2 L200s of each, youd get 160 STR/DEX
Anyway, I'm pretty sure that the stats you get would probably give you more than +300 range, depending on exactly how much, and I guess your % stat, though I'm not entirely sure % stats affect character card +stats. The warrior set sucks because it only works on base HP and it's only additional damage at the very end of all damage calculations, it doesn't actually add to your range, it appears there, but damage is calculated without counting it as part of your range. If you somehow had 99,999 base HP, it would still only just give you +9,999 damage on top of what you normally do, if you do several hundred thousand worth of damage, it'd boost your damage by less than 10%, and this is best case scenario with 10% HP to Damage and max base HP.

oh. well that certinly changes things. thanks. so what sets (If any) are actually worth getting?

It's 1.8k to your FINAL damage.
So if you did 1,000 beforehand, you now do 2,800.

and just adding, it's BASE hp, so your hp after skills like hp increase or %hp equips, or +hp equipment isn't going to your damage.

But ya, if you do the math for the Warrior set bonus, no matter what you thematically number crunch it for, even having just the 1 Bucc some where in a set is better for extra damage. And I do think that the Pirate set bonus is worth the effect it yields, unless like others have stated, you can already reach that 80% PDR cap ( I believe that's all you need atm for Empress and other bossses) So if you can, then focus on the Kaiser/Burster it seems for those stat boosts. The class set abilities for All STat + don't really compare....your character won't obviously need ALL OF them at just a mere 10, if it can gain 80+ to its main stats instead.

You don't subtract your ignore defense from a monster's defense, you ignore whatever percentage of ignore you have of a monster's defense, for example, if you have 60% and a monster has 10%, you ignore 60% of the monster's def, 60% of 10% is 6%, so the monster has 4% DEF remaining. Hence, you need 100% Ignore Defense to ignore all of a monsters defense, whether it's 10%, 25%, 40% or 70% DEF and anything less will cause you to remain hindered by the monster's defense.

If you didnt notice already, that suggestion is towards using least char slots and obtaining most link skills + koc buff at the same time. But then again the bucc and paladin bonus isnt THAT great for me. Pluss he wanted a bonus set for both of his sets, one being pirate and the other being warrior. What other options are there if you take out paladin and dark knight atm? Not many, especially not many that is worth it. Demon slayer being the best of all options imo and kaiser being the next useful. But like I mentioned before if you want that little extra dmg you can go ahead and make this list instead which I personally dont think is worth the time:

Edit: If you were to ignore set bonuses (by that you already have 100% ignore defense) I would go with this set if I REALLY wanted to spend time into getting most bonus dmg for mercedes db/shadower:
Set 1: Angelic burster, bucc, paladin
Set 2: Angelic burster, bucc, paladin
But thats still not that great for db and shadower untill a luk + card comes out, I dont think there is any better option for just dmg bonus tho, maybe replace bucc or paladin with marksman for more crit.

I'm kind of surprised this didn't come up in the thread earlier, but I'll add it here in case anyone had the same idea as me.
Originally, I was hoping that the drain affect for Aran could be activated by summons. What BM wouldn't love a Phoenix or E Puppet attack activating drain while running around seduced?
Based on my testing though, summon attacks don't count... :f4:
When I get bored I'll test on my Mercedes to make sure it isn't just certain summons.

Assuming I can eventually get enough character slots (currently at 12), I'd like to be able to swap between a pirate set for pdr (8% will give me 100% pdr including the Luminous link skill) and the best I can get for surviving HT/CHT/CZAK and future sed crazy bosses. I'll probably be using the pirate set for everything except when I solo nasty seducers like HT.
So I'm looking for any improvements I can make. I'm particularly interested in how cd reduction and buff duration work with the new hyper skills/buffs. I'm assuming that I will get 15-15*.04 will give me a 14.4 cd on Wind of Frey? How does rounding factor here?
Has anyone confirmed that the BaM's damage reduction works on 1/1? I know it should, but just checking.
The only really possible changes that occur to me are getting %def from Mihile or %avoid from DB for survival. I can't really see anything being better than the pirate set for pure damage.

BaM reduction USED TO work on 1/1, at some point it stopped working, and hasn't been fixed since. at least, i haven't checked. in a while.

Is that BaM card effect fixed or still bugged at GMS? We've obtained the same bug too.
