Quote:I expect we will have more "NLC" after CWK Update during this year, any clues as to whats next in the pipe line, that portal has been inactive on Pharoh Yeti since NLC came out.

Everyone wants to know what's in old Yetinx. We'll see.

Hah! Finally that unused portal in the Yetinx will be used. Looks like we already know what's coming next about Masteria, thanks to NxProse.

*better starts levelling*

Sivrat Wrote:Also, did anyone else lol at battletoads reference? But does anyone own an old copy of those two games, is the orb thing he mentions actually part of the NES or SNES games? I never actually played either of them(imagine that) but he may have given us a good hint of what the defense system is like, or maybe not. IDK, just throwing it out there.

I think this was more in reference to the difficulty and not the actual specifics of the PQ. Battletoads is one of the hardest games like ever...so I think he's just saying while this will be difficult it won't be near impossible.

basically you need to press the D pad along with the toad to make you go faster. the orb is faster than you on straights but takes a little longer on corners. you need VERY VERY VERY good reflexes to do it. if something like this came to maple in a PQ, I doubt a party could be assembled that can pass it.... this was hard enough on 1P mode, 2P was even harder. I cant imagine a 6 players with something this difficult

[Archive] The Unveiling of Masteria - SuperMario64 - 2009-02-14

I saw a video of that yesterday before I posted just to see what it was like. xD

Yes, it does look pretty difficult...but according to what he said, Twisted Switcher is 5/10 in terms of difficulty...I wonder what it is this time...Tongue

90-200. However, while you can go in at 90, the bosses there are all 4th Job and up status.

Wow I guess I can actually participate in this, even though I will just be useless.

Well, let's say that elementals will be handy.

Each class/sub-class has a specific skill for use in the PQ. Don't worry about this too much, as the skills themselves are pretty common. For instance, for an Ice/Lightning Mage, you'd need Ice Strike. However, its not quite that simple is regards to where/when you use it. More will be revealed in time.

Each Sub class has a specific skill needed for the PQ? I wonder how that is going to work if it is a 6 person party then. Perhaps you need at least one of all 5 base classes in the party?

I like that he mentioned I/L mages, at least I know I would have some use during the PQ, though it's probably something lame like killing some token monster that can only be hit by ice attacks..

The prizes, shall we say, can vary. There's Boss Drops and a Vault, so you'll keep coming back for rewards and fun.

I get the idea behind this but I am not really sure I like it. It will probably be a free for all and encourage looting and just generally bring out the worst in people. I was hoping for a system more like CPQ or MPQ where you collect an item and trade it in for a prize.

Are there any plans for higher level content ( like 4th job+ such as an equip to further boost AM's (arcmages ) power such as elemental wands/staffs?

Yes.

Is that just a yes to high level equips or a yes to more elemental weapons?

I'm feeling that Haste and Dark Sight will be a must in this PQ.

I want a longer Room 5 with my PQ, please. Or just add that entire Castle in MapleStory.

I'm thinking it's more likely that there are several different paths you can go through the PQ, and depending on which classes you bring, different doors will be openable. (this fits the "unique each time" and the "each class is useful" criteria). For example, let's say in stage 1 there are 2 doors to 2 different stage 2's, one which can only be reached by flash jump and one that can only be reached by teleport. Both doors have an NPC which you must be really close to talk to (like in the invisible Magatia JQ) so you can't just click it from afar. Depending on which party members you have, you can take either path, and then you'll have a completely different stage 2 through the FJ door than the Teleport door. The alternate paths would converge at certain points to ensure that everyone has to go through those.

This fits in with what prose said about rooms being within the maps as well, which made me surprised when he said it was only 10+ maps, but if the sub-class's rooms are branched within each main class's respective room, then it'd actually be okay.

I thought he was saying it was 10+ maps *outside* the PQ. O_o

NxProse Wrote:We actually haven't counted. Less that the first expansion, it's 10+, but we don't count, say stages within a stage.

Sounds like the whole expansion.

But like I said, the stage within a stage fits in with that sub-class theory.

[Archive] The Unveiling of Masteria - Kirov - 2009-02-14

If they did set it up like that then it would not just be interesting but it would make the PQ much more practical. There is nothing worse than hanging around waiting for a specific class to show up.

[Archive] The Unveiling of Masteria - Jirai - 2009-02-14

I guess this might just be the high level PQ everybody's been asking for for quite a while.

Hmmm, what I was thinking from NxProse's comments was that each of the five weapons on that huge statue would represent like a seal or something that you can break by making a particular class complete a task, and the more you more seals you break, the better reward you get or the easier the rest of the pq becomes, thus fitting in with the "splitting up the party" thing and "most classes," without making every class absolutely necessary.

Quote:Speaking of which, will the alchemy drops in magatia be removed or is the Maker skill to be released soon enough that removing them would be pointless?

While nothing will be divulged in regards to any future release, you're always better off keeping what you may find there.

Are monster powders dropping in Magatia?
Or is this in reference to the "useless kms event drops" like the foods of loneliness, leaves of transformation, etc?
Or something else?

I think he means the monster book cards. The useless items are, well, useless. Or he simply misinterpreted the question.

Someone send "The Guy" to Nexon. I'd love to see a maze/PQ like that in Global. xD

Magic Powders aren't in the data atm, so they're not dropping. I'm pretty sure the drop table is still calling for them though. Probably talking about the emo baking supplies, but the person asking the question doesn't know what they're for (I don't either, but I know it's not Maker).

[Archive] The Unveiling of Masteria - Cyanne - 2009-02-16

Anyone wanna ask him about the weird statue at the top of valley of heroes 2? The jump quest itself to get to lower ascent is way too easy, so there must be something up there. I can't access the maplestory forum, so I can't ask myself.

[Archive] The Unveiling of Masteria - Schrono - 2009-02-16

Even the masochist in me hopes it won't be as hard as this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ot5h9oO1fs

Edit: Yes, I know it's impossible for MapleStory to be this hard.

[Archive] The Unveiling of Masteria - Stereo - 2009-02-16

Minus the deaths (maybe instead have it warp you back to earlier parts of the JQ) it would be awesome if they made an incredibly difficult jump quest. >_>

With the alternative of course being to 'bribe' the gatekeeper 50mil.
