decided to delete my save file and start one on normal, farming supports in hard is... annoying.

i think i'll roll female lead this time.

Fire Emblem Awakening [SPOILERS INSIDE] - Chaz - 2013-03-31

First 3 chapters on lunatic are dumb as pineapple. Too much RNG. After chapter 3 it gets a lot easier >.>.

Hard mode is so easy you don't need DLCs or extra grinding.

First 3 Chapters on Lunatic+ will problaly make me rage quit >.>.

Fire Emblem Awakening [SPOILERS INSIDE] - Scaeva - 2013-03-31

Question: how much does the difficulty ramp up in the later chapters on hard and how bad are the ambush spawns? I currently can't decide wether I'm going to do my first playthrough (once I finally get the game on the 19th) on Normal or on Hard. I'll play on Casual regardless of difficulty so I won't end up ragequitting the game on a bad day.

Do it on hard, it's probably the most well rounded difficulty. Normal is just, you don't feel any accomplishment.

only one reinforcement on hard is a peach, and it's because you don't get warned AT ALL.

every other reinforce is told two to three turns in advance.

What.

You get noticed of when reinforcements come into the map in this game?

you don't get told, but usually some unit says something along the lines of "what is taking the reinforcements so long?" or "trap them in the middle" or stuff like that. only one map has the reinforcements appear out of fucking nowhere with no previous warning.

But that's one of the joys of the Fire Emblem franchise. Frown

Hard/Casual is my ideal mode. Frustrating at some parts, but certainly not as annoying as losing a character forever (purists gonna hate). Normal is too easy.

depends, when the reinforces come on horse, and then procceed to move and ravage the ass of whichever unit is nearby on the VERY SAME TURN they appeared... not so much.

Sounds like the Hard modes in Shadow Dragon or Maniac/Lunatic mode in New Mystery of the Emblem.

Keeps you on your toes. Rolleyes

And drives you insane

yea, considering my first playthrough was on hard and with very little grinding, the mofo's appearing out of nowhere and ganging up on the closest mage wasn't cool at all.

that said, after that, every time i read the word "reinforcements" i just charged to the middle of the map.

Severa's recruitment also has this, a lot >_>;.

There should be a marker though, like a bunch of tightly, bunched forts or usually the big area farthest from your starting position.

in some areas you can predict the reinforcements, in others (like the one that pissed me off) they came from the same place where you spawned, so if you hadn't charged away from it, you'd get ganged up by all the reinforcements.

an example is the map where you get cordelia, she suddenly appears (from the direction you came), says "the fort has fallen, enemy troops are coming this way"

and a turn or two later, WYVERNS, WYVERNS EVERYWHERE.

Oh you're talking about chapter 16, I think, the one on the giant tree? That one was a peach, for maps like that you rush the boss lol.

By the way, Noire as an archer is just, the best lunatic+ character. She just doesnt get hit. Plus shes completely counter immuned, which is so reliable to me. Then I have Nah who has almost 70 frekin defense. I just broke this mode LOL

the tree guy is the one that asks for reinforcements, i remember there being one chapter where the reinforcements just appeared out of freaking nowhere from behind. mr moustache guy did ask for them.

A story chapter? Might be in the 20's then...I haven't had to deal with a chapter like that as of yet, unless you're referring to a child recruit
