Player Statistics - Protevs - 2009-01-02
Updates
Hello, and welcome to the Player Statistics thread. During the patches I spend my time gathering data from the rankings at nexon.net concerning the amount of players in each job and server, and after level. I'll make pie charts for all of the statistics unless people tell me to do otherwise. I'm posting it here so that everyone can have a look at what class(es) are the most popular, and the progress between events like 4th job and the release of new classes. I made my thread in Sleepy on my own initiative, and I didn't know that Fiel had already made something similar before me. He has allowed me to continue my work though, and has even been so kind as to let me access his own data from before 2008. So everything dated before 2008 is HIS work, not mine. I'll update every 3 months, unless there's some event that forces me to update more frequently. Over to the tables and charts:
September, 2006
October, 2006
November, 2006
December, 2006
January, 2007
February, 2007
March, 2007
June, 2008
December, 2008
Any other suggestions are appreciated. Planning to do a "Changes"-chart soon, which will look like a timeline. Thank you for reading. Player Statistics - Kirov - 2009-01-02 You need to fix the images in your December 2006 spoiler. Player Statistics - Nikkey - 2009-01-02 Oh, amazing. This is always somewhat fun to look at. You can directly work new tables into here, if that eases your work. (Though I doubt it.) Player Statistics - haha01haha01 - 2009-01-02 i must say that i am quite surprised to see that warriors are the second most popular job. i was sure it would be thieves... (Though I doubt it.) I know, but that would definitely not ease my work. I suggest you guys look at the amount of 3rd jobbers vs. the amount of 4th jobbers in each class. The results are interesting. Player Statistics - ChaosCorpse - 2009-01-02 Protevs Wrote:I know, but that would definitely not ease my work. You mean how in the most recent results, there are more thieves that reached 3rd job versus any other class and how they wind up being the 3rd largest 4th job number below both magicians and warriors? Yeah, I'll say that is interesting, but another thing I wasn't so surprised with was the lack of bowmen. No wonder NEXON likes to ignore us when it comes to bugs .I know it isn't possible to go back and do it now, but it would have been nice to have these statistics from right around the time 4th job came out and thereafter. We could have seen how much bandwagoning there was and how much of it failed. Player Statistics - GMSInfighter - 2009-01-02 Where the bowman loooveeeeeeee? ![]() Very nice charts, it's quite sad seeing a majority of the jobs in december mages. Quite obvious though. Player Statistics - Blankout - 2009-01-02 I like these charts a lot. Thanks for bringing them onto Southperry! Player Statistics - Worthyness - 2009-01-02 YESH! I am part of the only 2,000 over 120 archers ![]() I'm so proud of myself =) I wanna see how long it takes for pirates to eclipse archers xD (everyone knows that's bound to happen...) Player Statistics - NoJobNoRules - 2009-01-03 Very interesting. Thanks for doing it!
Player Statistics - DrRusty - 2009-01-03 wow i'm part of only 143 4th job pirates =D . go me!! I was looking at the pie charts, and i'm surprised how many thieves either quit/haven't made it from 70 to 120. Player Statistics - Takebacker - 2009-01-04 ![]() You're telling me BEGINNERS outnumber pirates? Brbkillingmyself. Player Statistics - ItzTaylor - 2009-01-04 No pomegranate? Beginners have been out for almost 4 years and pirates a couple months. And every new character created starts as a beginner. How can this not be possible? Player Statistics - Shippo the Fox - 2009-01-04 Oh the answer is obvious on the 3rd job thieves. Its filled with the masses of Chief Bandits who gave up. Pansies. Player Statistics - Blankout - 2009-01-04 Shippo the Fox Wrote:Oh the answer is obvious on the 3rd job thieves. Hermits give up too. Hell stage for thieves there. Player Statistics - Technolink - 2009-01-04 i'm surprised to see june2008 - > december 2008 (namely pirates release) declined warriors and mages, but left thievs and bowmen unscathed. Interesting. Bowmen (sterotyped as highly dedicated) actually have the lowest rate to achieve 4th job (pirates don't count yet, xD) Player Statistics - kleptophobia - 2009-01-04 Shippo the Fox Wrote:Oh the answer is obvious on the 3rd job thieves.Psh, I'm one of them. But I am very thankful for these stats, you can really see the impacts of some patches, and time. Player Statistics - Takebacker - 2009-01-04 ItzTaylor Wrote:No pomegranate? You mean you wouldn't think that pirates would be a lot more populated? I didn't expect everyone to make a new pirate or two, but damn i expected it to be a lot higher than a few % below perma-noobs. Then again, i don't think anyone would expect perma-noobs to be that populated anyway. Then again, i don't think anyone would expect perma-noobs to be that populated anyway. The numbers are taken from lvl 8, so all beginners between 8-200 are counted in. But still, I was expecting more pirates too o.O Guess it's because of the hype, and everyone thinking 1mil bandwagoners to come and be all "OMG, Imma make a pirate too!" when they really don't exist. Almost done with the "Changes" table, will put it up during the next two days. Player Statistics - Trystan28 - 2009-01-04 Keep in mind this raw data doesn't take into effect the gazillions of FM advertisers, etc. Most of whom get off Maple Island but dont take a job, and just stand in the FM hawking some scam meso website. There's TONS of them, even in Demethos. Not counting how many "beginners" might be actually just characters people created for the sole purpose of hoarding a name, too. Or, people who created a character, and quit MS within the first few minutes of playing. So, the data for beginners does not just reflect the number of permaginners. |
