Magnus Equips - See - 2012-10-28
For items so gamebreaking, I haven't seen a lot on these.. Or at least wasn't active while there was.
A few questions
-How are they obtained, and how difficult is it?
-I saw a video of a max hitting evan solo normal magnus. My DB maxes, so should I be able to solo normal magnus after I get used to it?
-I've been wanting to buy some attack (duped omg crucify me) vsses. Should I instead wait and get 150 shoes? And should I sell my current decent belt and cape? I guess this just goes back to asking how easy it is to obtain the 150 equips.
-Is there a set effect for the items?

Tyrant would obviously require less effort and a lot better stats to go past VSS, but i can't really tell how obtainable they are...

Just a heads up, protects for superior items, items that gain better bonuses with enhancements, like Tyrant, Nova, Helisium equips, are about 35% more expensive than regular shielding wards. 7.4k for superior vs 5.5k for regular in kMS.
Our shielding wards started out at 11k, and they technically still are normally 11k, so I'd say there's a good chance superior shielding wards will be like 14k or so each.
And as far as where to get them:
Helisium (Level 80) - Tempest Shop during the Tempest event, also from the shop in Helisium, you buy them with coins from Magnus
Nova (Level 110) - Drops from Normal Magnus, I think?
Tyrant (Level 150) - Drops from Hard Magnus
None of them have a set effect.

Seems like you don't gain any attack before the fifth star, and you don't gain any base stats after the fifth star, for the Tyrant equips at least.

If you really wanted to, you can replace the empress cape/shoes (I would replace the cape) with the Tyrant equips, then you can use the empress shoulder to achieve the 6 set effect.

I'd have to believe it depends on your current Boss % and how much damage you would lose out from that 30% alone.

To be honest, you could totally just not go for the full Empress set and make up for that % boss (equivalent or even very close) from getting Dojo gloves. This is really helpful for classes where it is easier to hit cap with a fair amount of %boss (DB would be one example, thanks to Final Cut). I didn't go full Empress for this reason.

This is a really tricky question that I've been debating myself. Empress shoulder means it's a no brainer to swap out cape due to priceyness. By my guess, if you want dojo glove swap for shoes as well and you will come out ahead. It also means you can use top/bottom instead of empress overall.
Comparing for inside dojo itself is more complicated and I still haven't decided...

Honestly, I never got empress because I have 3 theif mains and like the tradeability of norms.
I don't regret not using it at all, especially because top 10 dojo gloves alone give more boss damage than the full empress set, so the only reason on to use those would be if you had insane empress gloves. But if you had empress gloves that could beat dojo gloves, chances are you'd want a top/bottom anyways. Which in a while will mean you'd rather have magnus equips anyways.

yea, and u could also siwtch out the wep for a CPB wep, with an xtra 10 att
So the way i see it
Option 1
Hat: Empress
Top: Neos
Bottom: Neos
Gloves: DoJo/Empress
Shoes: Tyrant
Cape: Tyrant
Weapon: CPB
Bonuses Vs Option 2: One xtra equip to pot, About 50-60 attack, about 100 stat, Boss depending on dojo grade.
VS
Hat: Empress
Overall: Empress
Gloves: Empress
Shoes: Empress
Cape: Tyrant
Weapon Emp
Bonuses VS Option 1: 30% Boss
seems like a clear choice to me...

I'm actually struggling with the loss of 15%hp and -2sec status duration. The survivability bonus for ranged classes is nothing to dismiss.
I was more comparing with nova anyway since Tyrant is outrageously difficult to get.
Oh wow. I didn't even think about CPB weapons... I don't think I'll go through all the effort of making another bow though
