It's been said by Runaan that the JoJ will be discontinued, and a couple more issues will be written before they permanently retire it for a better avenue of storytelling or whatever it is they're doing.
This is the 2nd to last issue.

Oh god things are heating up.
And this is why you leave tons of loose ends. So you can conveniently say that the JoJ was corrupt when the real world decides it is no good.
