That character change coupon seems like a totally superfluous step.
They could have made the green name-change buttons appear automatically, like the BURN buttons did.
Other than that, this looks good. It seems you don't have to commit to one character to change the name on, until you are actually able to secure the name you want for it. I like that.
It probably only will appear upon using the free/ cash shop name change coupon.
If you have non active, the green button will dissapear. (my speculations)
Yeah, but why?
Every account gets the free name change coupon. And no matter which character you accept it on, once you use it, all characters show the green button.
So what's the point?
oh no, possible doomsday
though i logged into all my accounts at the recent hot days, I am still a little bit worried that they would reset some of the names due to their general accident prone nature.
also have to decide on new names
I know, right?
I fully expect any number of characters to have their names reset who were not inactive.
Also, since there already are some fully-numeric IGNs in use, I fear duplicates. I think the reason they decided to go with numbers rather than the same system they used for renaming guilds at the server alliances, is that with numbers they can just rename characters sequentially and not bother to check whether each name is already used (which takes considerable processing time, if you multiply it by the millions of characters that need renaming).
Apropos millions of characters being renamed, I think it would be quite interesting if someone with a rankings-scanner counted how many "active" characters remain in the game. After they bring the rankings page back, that is. It's currently down for some reason.
I'm mostly content with my character names.
I have a few that I had to use alternate spelling on (L for i, 0 for o, etc), and I will try to change them to the proper spelling. But if someone beats me to it, no biggie.
It probably has something to do with either the cash shop or a method of preventing packet editors from taking advantage of the system.
i don't mind it myself, since i don't plan to use it on my main account since i don't want any "accidental" misnamings.
but i'm blocked from maple again for some reason so i might not even -shrug-
This doesn't look good.
Called it weeks ago.
Don't know why anyone thought it'd end up any differently.
Thats just a troll from some basilmarket user whose known to troll
Ahahaha, remember that throttling I proposed? It's a damn shame we Southperrians are such vile people, our suggestions aren't even worth looking at!
They got around that by giving the inactive characters names of the form #1234567890. Including the '#' sign. Since that's not legal for anyone to type in at the character creation screen, all those names were guaranteed unused. Nice.
However, because it's an illegal character for an IGN, it can pose problems. For example, if you try to Whisper someone with such a name, you get the error "Incorrect ID".
that sounds like a cool name to have for some reason...
I got some cool igns.
