Once again it's time for Summer Games Done Quick, a week-long speedrun marathon running from the 22nd through the 28th of June, that will be raising money for Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières).
Held this year at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Denver, Colorado, and hosted by the speedrunners of Speed Demos Archive and Speed Runs Live, this will be a non-stop marathon over the course of 7 days (and a few days extra for the bonus stream) which will include games old and new, spanning across every generation of console and thoroughly destroying many games you know and love (or despise).
Over their history, the Games Done Quick marathons have managed to raise over $2,000,000 collectively for various charities, such as the Prevent Cancer Foundation, Doctors Without Borders, the Organization for Autism Research, and many others.
There are also many donation incentives, such as extra games, additional handicaps or playstyles, races, or even entirely different runs of the same game. Also, there are prizes drawn for most games and a grand prize for each block, many of them handmade, rare, or expensive.
