So I heard the meso farmers got no hacks so all the bots should be gone?
That's probably why the servers seem emptier at the server select screen.
1) YEAH WE'D KNOW ALL ABOUT THAT ON THIS WEBSITE.
2) As long as there's a working bypass 90% of the time there is a working bot, so your source is probably crap
3) Maplestory's population has always been erratic.
As long as the GMs are some kind of long distance workers that know nothing about the game or where to look for hackers, the list will look like this.
Simple thing such as 24/7 recording of what happens in certain boss maps and Dojo (of course with no notice beforehand) would catch many of the major hackers.
Find someone on this list with at least a semi-legible name and you'll then find someone who gives a crap about this list.
There are always public bots, with or without bypasses being public. (I think there's only been one full bypass public for GMS since like 2010..)
There's only one semi-commonly known VIP bot working, and a lot of people are still scared to use that because of past issues of account safety after using it.
I'm sure there are quite a few private client-less bots, and the Chinese always have an updated bot.
The one that starts with a B hasn't been updated in weeks, and 97% of the people who use that aren't what you'd call "meso farmers".
Meso rate didn't go from 1:8 to 1:17 for no reason.
I know it didn't. It did because the real meso farmers (Chinese meso sites) wanted it too. All they have to do is raise their price and everyone else starts raising. It's still 1:8 on certain sites that aren't Chinese-affiliated, but once they notice the meso sites raised it, they will follow.
Not to mention their one secret hot-meso spot was recently nerfed, which is an obvious reason to bump their prices up.
Ok big deal but can you find 10?
There's been previous ban lists that have 10+ "legible" names.
Nothing wrong with being knowledgeable of such things.
After a patch, most botters don't log in right away anyways. Not to mention that Nexon may have patched some of the hacks, so their botting may be put on hold until they figure how to work around it.
I doubt it. But you have missed the point. The point is that these ban lists are quite useless and really serve no purpose. People who hack and then get banned just make new characters and hack again or get their characters unbanned and keep cheating as the consensus of the game currently dictates.
Well, if it serves as a good placebo for players who don't cheat to think Nexon actually works hard to catch hackers (who don't give a crap about such lists themselves) from looking at it, then so be it.
I'm sure a majority of players, legit or not know better than that.
I personally find the list interesting for a number of reasons such as the ratio of bans:server, as well as what classes are hacking.
At this point, I would surely bet almost everyone and their mother scams, hacks, or breaks the TOS in one way or another. People just don't care about the integrity of the game anymore. These lists don't and won't do anything to sway their opinions. But I have no qualms with your interest in the inner workings of the game and ability to withstand it's inevitable demise by further playing it. I can empathize with your suffering.
None of my points state otherwise, in fact they reinforce he's not knowledgeable by even asking this website when there are a dozen other websites who are in fact proactive with such affairs.
LETS ASK THE COOKING WEBSITE CHEMICAL EQUATIONS.
Interesting things can be useless.
He wasn't necessarily asking a question, more so a statement in the form of a question. So your statement is irrelevant.
..You mean the statement that is asking if hackers are gone because he was told that botting is gone? If you can barely defend yourself don't try defending others.
...It probably went up because normally after every patch, especially these big ones, (back from when I played, anyway) that a huge chunk of their resources would be banned/removed, which ultimately lowers the supply, while people want to buy more to keep up with the latest power creep/newest items, just to say they are first.
