If you're watching (or if you're refusing to watch), discuss the Games and things around the Games here!
I'll start off with journalists arriving at Sochi to their luxurious hotel rooms.

And here I thought the only bad thing with sochi were the new anti gay laws(and your local crazy threatening the athletes).
Here is the schedule for the BEST event at the Winter Olympics

TO THE MOON!
I am very interested in seeing that bobsledding relay event they added this year. But come on better than Curling? Any sport where one of the "rules" is the winning team takes the losing team out and buys them a round of drinks is a great sport.
Luge - Men's Doubles, that's where it's at.
The conditions remind me of the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games. A lot of the Athletes seem to be complaining about the slopestyle event too. One broke their collarbone and Shaun White has pulled out because he thinks it is too dangerous.
They are adding 12 new events to this years games.

It wouldn't be a sporting event without drugs talk either.

It's like a literal asterisk on the Games.
I'm so happy to see Google's Olympics doodle.
First post about the actual sport events in this thread? Yesterday was disappointing as hell due to losing hockey semi-final to Sweden... and that was probably our worst game in the tournament. Rask was sick too...
But ohh boy... 5-0 win against USA despite 2 penalty shots given for US. Gotta love Rask and Selänne. Getting Bronze like that feels freaking good, especially cause US beat us in the semi-finals back in Vancouver.
Bronze is also decent considering all the NHL players we lost before or during the games. Sean Bergenheim and Saku Koivu didn't come to the olympics, Mikko Koivu and Valtteri Filppula were injured, Alexander Barkov got injured in the 2nd game of olympics, Tuukka Rask had a cold during semi-finals. Hard to say if we had gotten to finals, berhaps gold, with that attacking power but no use to speculate it afterwards, injuries happen and Bronze is a good medal in olympic hockey with all the best players there.
Overall, better olympics than Vancouver for Finland. 1 gold, 3 silvers and 1 bronze. Been better in the past but it's still decent for a country of 5 mil population.
The Dutch are OWNING every single ice skating game o.O
Did the US really think they had a chance against Canada for hockey?

Maybe disqualify Sweden and re-match for gold? Canada - Finland?SOCHI, Russia – Sweden’s star center Nicklas Backstrom wasn’t allowed to play in the gold medal game against Canada after testing positive for a banned substance.
An NHLPA source tells Yahoo Sports that Backstrom violated anti-doping rules after using an allergy medication. Some, like Claritin, contain pseudoephedrine, a banned substance by the IOC and the World Anti-Doping Federation
Seriously tho, many thanks to Canada for beating our archrival Sweden =) Bronze is won, Silver is lost. Bättre lycka nästa gång Tre Kronor.
