All the unnecessary line breaks, random capitalization, weird formatting is from the code we had to copy. (Yes, we used the blink tag!)
I don't think any of my fellow classmates know that this is wrong and it worries me.

that's usually why people take programming classes, they don't have a clue what's going on.
same thing happens in every introductory course to a language
