I'm not referring to anything forum related but I was thinking about this. (I will use Spiderman as an example since I saw some of the first movie a few days ago) On one hand, Peter parker probably should have stopped the criminal right away when he had the chance even though he did not really have much to gain. That choice led to him losing his uncle but on the other hand, a lot of good came out of this sequence of events in the story.
Peter will likely always feel bad about the decision but one could argue that the many lives he saves by becoming Spiderman outweigh the one it cost to make that happen. (even though it is kind of tragic)
