1. Did you apply the scroll?
2. Did you apply the right type of scroll for that boss' orb type?


I couldn't say what the problem is, specifically, since the system was changed from its original JMS version when released in KMS, but considering there are multiple types of scrolls and multiple types of boss orbs, I'd say you'd have to match the scroll type with the boss orb type to get them to work.

This is purely speculation, though. I could be completely wrong.
