NOMINATE AN NPC! THE PRESIDENTIAL RUNNING MATE CONTEST
RULES AND REGULATIONS
BY ENTERING THIS COMPETITION YOU MUST AGREE TO THESE RULES, WHICH CREATE A CONTRACT SO READ THEM CAREFULLY BEFORE ENTERING.
1. SPONSOR:
Nexon America Inc, (Sponsor) who is solely responsible for all aspects of this contest ("Contest").
2. CONTEST PERIOD AND ENTRY; NO PURCHASE NECESSARY:
This Contest may only be entered by Internet, during the period commencing on September 12, 2012 and ending on September 26, 2012 (the "Contest Period"), as a registered member ("Member") of www.nexon.net (the "Web Site"), which said Web site includes Sponsor's online game, MapleStory ("MapleStory"). You may enter by visiting the Web site and logging in by providing your Member Name and Password. For purposes of these Official Rules ("Rules"), all times and days are Pacific Time. If you are not a Member, you may easily register for free to become a Member through the link on the site: www.nexon.net by filling out the simple Registration Form. There is no purchase necessary to enter this contest; however, normal Internet access and usage charges imposed by your online service will apply.
3. PROCEDURES:
To enter the Contest, you must send us an e-mail to nominate a Maple World NPC as the running mate for one of the American Presidential candidates. In addition, you must explain in your e-mail why the Maple World NPC you chose would be a great running mate. The length of your e-mail entry must not be longer than 300 words. To be eligible to win, you submit your entry to the following e-mail address Webevents@nexon.net. At the close of the Contest Period, Sponsor shall choose the five (5) best written nominations (collectively referred to as the Winners) subject to the conditions set forth herein. Sponsor shall pick the Winners based on creativity and based on Sponsors sole judgment and discretion. After the Winners are chosen, Sponsor shall send notification to each Winner via e-mail which shall also include a request for Winner's login information. Winners shall have seven (7) days to respond to Sponsor's message and supply its login information to be eligible to receive the Prize. Upon response, Sponsor shall then verify whether Winner is in good standing with Sponsor's Web Site. Upon verification as set forth herein, the Prize will be delivered to the Winners within 30 days after verification. Disqualification and the selection of an alternate winner may result from any of the following: [1] In the event Sponsor identifies a Winner who has been banned or suspended from the Website, [2] the return of any notice as undeliverable; [3] potential winner's failure to respond to Sponsor's notification within seven (7) days of receipt and [4] any other non-compliance of the Rules. In the event of disqualification, a new winner will be chosen subject to the same procedure set forth above. A list of the Winners may be provided, by sending a self addressed stamped envelop to Nexon America Inc. at 137 N. Larchmont Blvd., #619 Los Angeles, CA 90004-3704. Allow 8-10 weeks for reply.
4. PRIZE: The following Prize will be awarded, subject to the procedures set forth in Section 3 above:
One (1) MapleStory plushie
Upon verification as set forth above, the Prizes will be sent to each Winner within 30 days of verification. The value of the Prizes is neither transferable nor redeemable for cash. No substitution allowed, unless elected by Sponsor at its own discretion.
ODDS OF WINNING WILL DEPEND ON THE TOTAL NUMBER OF ENTRIES RECEIVED.
5. LIMITATIONS:
No more than one (1) Prize will be awarded per Member chosen by Sponsor. In event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person entered into the Contest, the Entry will be deemed to be the person whose name the membership is registered. Entries by any method other than set forth above are void. Open only to persons 13 or older upon entering who are legal residents of, and physically located within, the 50 states, Washington D.C. or Canada (excluding Quebec) ("Territory") and not employees of Sponsor, its parent, subsidiary or affiliated companies; the advertising, promotional or fulfillment agencies of any of them (individually and collectively, "Entities"); nor members of their households or immediate families. In addition, persons entering the Contest must be in good standing with Sponsor's Web site and have not been banned or suspended from the Website. Neither the Entities, nor any of their officers, directors, shareholders, employees, agents or representatives (individually and collectively, "Releasees") are responsible for Entries from persons residing, or physically located, outside the Territory, or Entries that are altered, delayed, deleted, destroyed, failed, fraudulent, improperly accessed, inaccurate, incomplete, interrupted, late, lost, misrouted, multiple, non-delivered, stolen, tampered with, unauthorized or unintelligible; or any printing, production, technical, electronic or other errors; or for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server or other connections; miscommunications; failed phone, computer hardware or software or telephone transmissions; technical failures; unauthorized human intervention; traffic congestion; garbled or jumbled transmissions; undeliverable e-mails resulting from any form of active or passive e-mail filtering; insufficient space in entrant's e-mail account to receive e-mail; or other errors of any kind, whether due to electronic, mechanical or human error or other causes; even if caused by the negligence of any of the Releasees. Each of such potential Entries will be disqualified. Void where prohibited or restricted by law and subject to all applicable federal, state, provincial, local and municipal laws and regulations.
6. CONDITIONS:
Each entrant by entering the Contest agrees that: [1] he/she will abide by and be bound by the Rules and the Sponsor's decisions; [2] the Releasees are not responsible for claims, injuries, losses or damages of any kind resulting, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from the awarding, delivery, acceptance, use, misuse, possession, loss or misdirection of the prize; participation in the Contest or in any activity or travel related thereto or from any interaction with, or downloading of, computer Contest information; [3] Each Winner's acceptance of the prize constitutes the grant to Sponsor by Winner of the exclusive rights and ownership of the winning entry and the design thereto selected and assigns of an unconditional right to use winner's name and prize information and/or statements about the promotion for any publicity, advertising and promotional purposes and/or the right to exploit merchandising based on the winning design without additional compensation; [4] in the event of viruses, bugs, unauthorized human intervention, Acts of God, acts or regulations of any governmental or supra-national authority, war, national emergency, accident, fire, riot, strikes, lock-outs, industrial disputes, acts of terrorism or other matters beyond the Sponsor's reasonable control, which will corrupt, prevent or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play of the Contest, so that it cannot be conducted as originally planned, the Sponsor has the right to cancel, modify, terminate or suspend the Contest; and in such event, to select a winner by random drawing from among all eligible Entries received up to such time of cancellation, modification, termination or suspension; [5] the Releasees are not responsible for typographical or other errors in the offer or administration of this Contest, including but not limited to: errors in the advertising, Rules and selection and announcement of the winner; [6] any portion of the Prize not accepted or used by the winner will be forfeited; [7] the Releasees are not responsible for any inability of the winner to accept or use the Prize (or any portion thereof) for any reason; [8] the e-mail entered into the Contest shall include only materials that the Member alone creates for the Contest and shall not include services, contributions, graphics, video, music, photos, text, copyrighted materials or trademarks belonging to any third parties or incorporating the names, likenesses, voice or personas of any real person or entity other than the Member and used without their permission; [9] the e-mail submitted must not include any matter or material that (a) is sexually explicit, unnecessarily violent or derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group; (b) is obscene or offensive, or may create public disrepute, contempt, scandal or ridicule; (c) defames or invades publicity rights or privacy of any person, living or deceased, or otherwise infringe upon any third partys or Sponsors personal or intellectual property rights or contain disparaging remarks about other people or companies; (d) is inconsistent with the positive images and/or goodwill to which the Sponsor wishes to associate (which may be determined by the Sponsor, at its sole and absolute discretion); and/or (e) otherwise violates these Official Rules; [10] the e-mail submitted shall not make or imply any claim regarding Sponsors products or services and any statements or opinions in any Contest Submission shall be honest, accurate and based on actual experiences; [11] Any depiction of Sponsors product or service shall not suggest an inappropriate, unlawful or dangerous use of the product or service; and [12] Sponsor makes no guarantee or affirmative obligation that the Winners e-mail or any other e-mail submitted hereto shall actually be used. [13] Entries submitted for this contest shall be original in nature and shall not violate any third partys intellectual property rights; [14} By submitting your Entry to this Contest, you grant to Sponsor a royalty-free license to use the Entry in any and all means and manner they deem fit and in all markets and media now known or hereafter devised, without additional consideration.
