I'm surprised I didn't hear anything about this on Southperry yet, or maybe it's just not worth mentioning, but I was reading Max's blog and came across this:

"It says that there is a new enemy that surpasses the Black Mage, Darmoa!"

What would be your opinions on this?

That confirms my theory of Nexon moving over the Black Mages arc for this new Nova and Pantheon arc.

What I don't like about it is that Nexon isn't even freaking done with the Black Mage. Yah, we got the 5 legends, so what? what exactly happened during the first fight against him? what happens nowadays that all the Commanders are back and they are looking to revive him? where are the answers to all the loose links and quest about this fight?.

They might just troll us all start developing into this new story without bringing to and end the previous arc. If that happens, Fiel should make us all eat shirt for his amazing luck.

Was there ever a confirmation for Maplestory 2?...

Looks like they still have a lot more ideas for Maplestory.

I bet when they release the door to the present, it'll be the release of Black Mage. Weaving the two story arks together seems a lot better to me than to just get one done, and slap another one after it and say it's connected. Just look at the Hero's that we got, they were slapped one after the other and therefore have a pretty inconsistent and confusing plot/timeline.

.....Which is disappointing, because I was kind of hoping the fall of the Black Mage would mean Maple Story is ending, so they can release Maple Story 2.

Because, let's face it. The MS client is too old, too outdated. It doesn't really allow for things other than grinding, those horrible jump quests, and pay2win bosses that are only "hard" because of 1/1 spam and requiring tons of DPS in order to kill them in time.

MapleStory 2 is in development for quite some time. I'm speaking about years.
The sequel is developed by a different team (MS2 team) with a different perspective and ideas etc about their game. The story could be different than the story in MapleStory. I am hoping that new information will be revealed in November this year about MS2.

An official said that we should see the Black Mage as part of MapleStory and not some super strong boss monster.
The Black Mage is linked to Magnus and probably Grandis.
And the Black Mage has fallen before because of the five heroes, but he has just been resurrected in the story.

and if maplestory 2 come out .. it wont be as popular as the original maplestory
and i wont even bother trying it
