What do you think would really happen if they got paid by the number of bans or got bonuses for them? A nightmare of false bans would come tumbling down once the hackers learn to hide better.
It also seems like you believe the GMs to be maple loving gamers. Get that out of your system because they have showed time and time again that they know not the first thing about the more complex sides of the game. They are simply employees.

It's called a resume. You can add that fancy line to your resume that says you worked at a major gaming corporation for X years. Plus money.
