Fleta is merged with Culverin, where I have all my character cards. My level 1 character happens to start with 1287 HP, 1237 HP more than usual, the amount of extra HP that would be granted by my character cards (S Set (+700 HP), A Set (+500 HP), A-Rank DK (+3% HP)).

50+700+500 = 1250 * 1.03 = 1287.5

Remember that in a world you never played, you only have 3 slots right now. Not sure what's going to happen when they hand out the next free slot (people in an allied world would get one per account? Or one per account per world?) but if you want 60 chars you'll have to pay for most of them.
Also consider that storage isn't shared, so if you don't have two computers, a trusted and patient friend, or a way to multi-log, it would be a pain to share gear with your own char in a different world.

I'm quite sure I have 7 slots on all servers outside the very new ones. Dunno if that's because of some mules sitting there thought.

Seems pretty simple in theory, but I think it'd actually be tough to reverse to me. Off the top of my head, I see cross-allied server marriages, guilds (alliance by extension), and families as potential issues. You marry someone who's in an allied server? Do you just end up not married anymore if the servers are separated? Have to sort through all of that, give compensation as necessary. Then, family I don't see as as big an issue, could just delete the members from allied servers, not having a family isn't that big a deal. Then guilds, there's only one guild leader, one alliance leader, do members just end up in the same guild, but now without a guild leader? Are the guilds that are allied in the merged server environment still allied in the separate servers?

It's just a lot of stuff to have to sort through. Once people mingle, I would think there's no going back.

I was implying more of a rollback-type reversal. You are correct in that your proposed scenario would be difficult to manage - though perhaps not significantly more difficult than the initial merge of the servers already is.

Assuming it's one of those 'if you already have a character in a world, you'll automatically get another slot there after the patch' character slots, you'll get one in all of the worlds :)
