I came across some employee reviews. They are quite an eye opener as to what has been happening behind the scenes in Nexon.
Lmao. One of the most common complaints:
Advice to Senior Management
Learn some English
the second review scared me, mostly because it feels so true.
4. The ideals shown to me from when I first worked here changed drastically from wanting to make our games fun to wanting to make as much money as possible without contributing to our games giving enjoyment.
9. Terrible management
10. Technology used is not good enough for our purposes, resulting in frequent crashes, maintenances, etc....Advice to Senior Management
There needs to be better communication between the executive, management, and work force. There are too many times where we did not understand each other and it caused conflicts between workers and in our projects. We also need better communication to the community. As of right now, we simply ignore anything obviously bad that the community has to say. We need to take note of them even if we cannot immediately fix them. Everyone is always frustrated and I cannot see a good future ahead nor any point in working at Nexon for more than a few more years.
Those are reviews for Nexon Korea, not Nexon NA.
@ShinkuDragon; guess that confirms that they aren't oblivious, they're just ignoring issues.
@ShinkuDragon; Holy pineapple. Nexon accidentally hired an intelligent employee who cares about the game and the customers? I'm glad the poor guy/girl escaped that nightmare. We're rooting for you anonymous!
Lol, not only is the American branch bad, the Korean branch is bad as well.
(Back in 2009 anyway)
I laughed at this.
...I'm suddenly not so sure the reviews on that site are 100% legitimate.
I love how two of the employee reviews state what the community has been saying the whole time. Lack of communication is frustrating everyone and their growing greed which detracts from creating new, robust content.
Really sounds like a crappy place to work.
Seems like with a change of management Nexon could become at least decent. From the reviews I read the employees seem to like working on the game but have to suffer through some major problems from the higher ups. Sounds like Nexon could use a spring cleaning with regards to their mangement.
Viva la revolucion?

You're right, it's very insightful to Nexon's inner workings.
What makes no sense to me...
Most of those report long overtime hours. Yet none of our support tickets are ever resolved, hackers are rampant, botters are rampant, advertisers are rampant, bugs are rampant, servers are unstable, and there's no GM involvement (Recent observations aside). What the flying fu'ck are they doing during those "long overtime hours"?
Yeah but that's even from the ones that were recently laid off in February. Every single review on that site reports insanely long hours, and no ability to have a life because Nexon constantly interferes with everything you do, even on your own time when you're not near the office.
Reminds me of my old pomegranatety Grocery Store job, those people would call me every single day. They wanted me to work every day of every week of every month of every year. The only difference is that I told them off because they wanted that and wanted to give me $7/hr, where at Nexon you probably make 30-40k a year (Which while not great, is a hell of a lot better than $7/hr).
Honestly nothing about a job at Nexon sounds appealing. Yet, somehow...still nothing gets done. I really wonder what they're doing (outside of jokes, of course) that takes so much time and accomplishes absolutely nothing.
