There are much better MTSer's than me. Go look at Eowyn, BillyTheKid, iCsenger, and any other of those people with 100s of dollars worth of NX in their investments. I merely choose to publicize my better deals when I get them but honestly, I lose quite a few deals each day due to various reasons: not enough NX, not fast enough, not knowing prices...

And don't make the face, I'll be the one -ing when I have to pay back 170m in debts tomorrow, which will leave me with a low amount of NX and only a few mesos, meaning I start over from scratch. =/

Soo.. can anyone else please tell me if I got a good or a bad deal with the white neschere? Or maybe a normal one? I hope it's at least a normal one.. or if it's a bad one, I hope I didn't lose more than 10m

I see a 114/2 white neschere in Broa's FM for 65m. Don't know if that helps though.

  6. Default

Well, 117/3 should be around 120m.. so yeah, a 20m loss. Heh, whatever.

could someone please explain to me the difference between these "FABULOUS DEALS" and scamming?

Scamming is when someone tricks or cheats another person out of the item. Scamming would be like "Click fast", or "tab tab space enter", or "let me borrow" (permanently).

"Fabulous deals" are willingly forked over. People hit the trade button knowing all trades are final and they agreed to the price they're selling at.

    1. a confidence game or other fraudulent scheme, esp. for making a quick profit; swindle.

i believe "fabulous deals" would fall under this.

this isn't "cheating someone out of an item"? :

The key word here is: fraudulent. Fraudulent pretty much means deceit. The point is that you didn't have to trick people to get good deals, they were just there.
Pretend you're at a casino. Suddenly a $100 bill slips out of a man's pocket and he doesn't notice it, and you pick it up. You didn't pick his pocket for it, therefore, you didn't steal the $100, you found it. It's up to you whether or not you want to give it back.

However, when trading, it's a bit different. The underlying rule is that all trades are final. If they set it up like that, you can automatically assume that they wish for it to be sold at that price. Ignorance is no excuse.

Purposely telling someone the price is a lot cheaper (spamming in FM entrance and such) could be considered "scamming" I guess to some people. This however the person I assume made the price on his own.

Oh, and anyone with "x916" is pro anyways@@@

how about you pretend you mispriced a white scroll for 2mil mesos and think about how you'd feel afterwards.

you pretty much debunked your entire argument with "ignorance is no excuse". anyone who buys a white scroll for 2mil and thinks the person meant to sell it for that much is about as ignorant as you can get.

Nope. He set the price. That's how much HE wanted for that item. All that person did was buy it.. He didn't lie to the seller about the price or anything.

Of course, I'd feel bad. However, I wouldn't misprice it anyways so it doesn't apply. Even if I did misprice it, I'd just accept it since it's my problem and not the buyer's.
I once sold a 4atk PAC way underpriced but I accepted it and moved on, just in case you want to say that I'm just being hypocritical.
Plus, that guy looks like he just didn't know the actual price. Nobody misprices things that far, usually it's just one 0. If he meant to sell it that way and he later found out it was 200m, it's still his problem for not finding out it's actual cost. It's like you saying "oh I was cheated out of this question on my exam because I missed the word 'not' in the question."

Hindsight doesn't apply in this world. Sorry if you feel that it does.

Also, it's hilarious how you just assume that the person didn't mean for it to sell that way and you further your assumptions by calling me ignorant.

Well at least you get 2mil out of it. One time I accidentally used a White Scroll on an item that blew up.
And mispricing isn't an excuse. That's why you go over all your prices before you open your store. And you shouldn't even be making those mistakes, even if it's one zero off, since the color will change. It's the person's fault for being too hasty in their pricing and not even noticing it. Everyone gets ripped off at least once in their Mapling career (I once sold an Earring LUK 30% for 5 mil), and it's not the buyer's responsibility.

Do you believe in the yes?

    Now I need a PC.
SW says 9/7 is 150m. I wonder how much 8/7 is...

Knock off about 10-20m, and that should be the price of an 8/7.

    See below.

That should be about it. There's an 8/7 in Khaini right now for 125m, with the shop title saying that the highest offer is 120m. You should be set.

You would even consider keeping it?

Glad I don't live in your area.

I've ripped people off before (if an item is cheap in the FM or they drop traded it, I'm not gonna leave it), if they ask for the item back I return it. It's not that difficult.

When people trade me and offer items below their sale value, I agree and then pay the full price after they accept the trade. It may not be as profitable, but it makes me feel a lot better about my moral standards.

May not be as profitable? That's not earning you ANY profit at all, unless you're lucky enough to suddenly be in possession of an item that will inflate by some degree.

That's the whole point of how money is MADE in this world. You display what you're selling for the prices you're willing to accept, and people buy them or they don't. It's not like eBay goes around paying people when they buy, say, a brand-new Nintendo DS game for $10 cheaper than it is at Wal-Mart. That's why in any basic consumer education class, students are taught in invaluable rule of comparative shopping: don't buy something until you're sure it's the cheapest you can get it for. If GameStop sells a new Nintendo DS game for $35 and Wal-Mart is selling it for $40, they're not going to give you back $5 because you bought it there. Granted, they do price comparisons (aka if you bring proof that GameStop is selling for $35, they'll sell to you for $35), but they only do that if you ASK them too.

In other words, it's up to the consumer. Ever heard of the Consumer Bill of Rights? It lists both rules that vendors must abide by as well as consumers, and when you boil it down to basic buying and selling, so long as the vendor is following these rules they can do whatever they want. It's up to the consumer to know their rights and keep them in mind when purchasing items.

Honestly, it all comes down to the thing so many seem to hate to do: RESEARCH. Both in real life and in Maple, research is the only way you can save yourself from losing money by selling something for less than it's worth or buying something for more than it's worth.
