    Default MapleStory thief revamp. What do you prefer?


    I know there was a similar thread to this one.
    But i'm curious what the rogue class players here really would like to see.
    I myself, hope that Shadow partner gets a make-over. And the same with flash jump.
    Shadow partner is fine as it is but the outer glowing line is sort off ugly. And it shouldnt be a bald dude but the same as your character. Basicly db's mirror image but black.
    Besides that ofcourse usefull skills that could replace shadow web/shadow meso/meso up/ninja storm/ninja ambush. And maybe dark flare too. (Although Dark flare does look really cool, its pretty useless)

    I want to hear your creative ideas for what thiefs should have.

    If only... but wouldnt that make summon rocks obsolete?
    I mean, where else can you still use them for besides that?
    I guess they could just remove the summon rocks from the game.

    I wouldn't mind that. From what I know, Shadow Partner is the only skill left in KMS that requires them anyways.

    If that's the case then I really hope they remove it. We already have to carry around loads of stars that crams up our use slots. And then we have also those summoning rocks cramming up our etc slots.

    Even worse... I think I made a mistake making an UA Sin, I have so few slots. I can barely take stuff with me without having to drop something every 10 minutes...

    And i'm really curious on what kind of new skills people would want to see.
    I'd love to have some sort of Huge throwing star (Much larger then avenger) with a cooldown.
    Or maybe a skill where you throw stars for like 5 seconds at immense speed. Something like siege mode? (cooldown ofcourse)
    Or some huge star with a cooldown on it thats alot bigger then the star used for avenger.

    I'm also wondering if im the only one who thinks avenger could look so much better... I actually thinks it looks crap with the ugly outer glow it has. But yeah thats my oppinion.

    Things I'd like to see: Better movement skills, like, as someone else suggested, making shadow web create a platform to stand on for you and your party. Works as a double jump, sniping platform, and some warriors would love it at some bosses. Make dark Flare just deal damage even if you get a miss, or even better, deal MORE damage for getting a miss... You should get rewarded for having more defense and avoid, not get punished.

    Meso up needs something else as a buff... Meso drops alone just makes it useless already on 95% of the time (Hey, Papulatus drops more mesos for me... But doesn't even count on equips, drops, etc). Heck, Chief Bandits have it built in a passive skill, and this is the weakest effect, it's not that much of a stretch.

    Shadow partner, DOES need a new shape. I'm tired of the bald guy.

    Ninja Storm... Either make it KB 100% at lv 1 or just delete this at all. This skill doesn't even make sense now, with our punching gone. Same for Ninja ambush. Never made sense on ANY class.

    Shadow meso should be some new buff, but... God, it's such a useless concept that I can't even think about a new idea around the current thing.

    One skill I've ever wanted was a gambling one... Like Lucky dice. Too bad it only fits pirates, because...

    No, Puppet never needed summoning rocks.

    Eagle/Hawk used to, but Jump took care of that.

    It never used any summoning rocks. And I think both magic and summoning rocks should just be removed from the game. Haste should be moved to 1st job, Flash Jump to 2nd job and some new movement skill in 3rd job or 4th job, something like the Cannon Shooter jump skill. A way to break the speed and jump cap is a must. Assassins really need a 2nd job mob skill, because they're pretty much the only class that doesn't get one until 3rd job. Maybe something like the Avenger from MSDS could work, like throwing a bunch of stars in the air and having them rain down in front of you(or even behind you). Assassinate needs a revamp, that 4th hit still makes the skill suck.

    There's boxes in the data, like the ones from jump. But these have the thief and pirate logos on them. At least there's evidence.

    aren't those boxes dropped from bosses already?

    honestly, thieves need an ultimate. night lord should be summoning a huge star into the sky and it breaks into smaller ones attacking 12 mobs(like genesis i think) because honestly, theres not much to do with throwing stars..

    for shads, an eye would appear above them with a silhouette of a dagger and once it closes a dagger runs through 12 nearby mobs. although there can be many ideas that involve daggers, it wouldnt be fair because all three mages got their own ulti.

    anyway on to other skills.... avenger, yes.. that pomegranate skill should be removed or atleast get an animation change. that flare skill for nls also have alot of potential.. it just needs to be more powerful. it should be attacking mobs every second or like what alloy said, miss = more damage since avoidability are thieves special trait. venom should also be moved to 3rd job as the idea of poisoning with shuriken is pretty generic, also being able to switch it on or off.. add poison mastery in 4th job to enhance it.
    hhmm lets see, triple throw is ok to me but thieves need a pierce like skill so it wouldnt be a single button spamming class. and while charging, the NL would go in dark sight mode(not be seen by mobs) and attack with stars at a very fast speed.
    another movement skill would also be able to stick to walls and attack. it would work great with FJ. you can stick by the walls, as high as your character can go but you stay for like 10 secs tops. although you can use it wihtout cooldown and move from one to another wall like actual ninjas.

    PS, by pierce like i mean charge to attack. not an attack the pierce through monsters.

    Well real ninjas could use the throwing stars as melee weapons by holding it in their hands, the sharp points sticking out between the fingers, and they'd be punchin and stuff. Watched that on a National Geographic. I'm not sure how they could apply that ingame but it would be cool. They need to get rid of minimum range if they haven't done so already.

    Avenger isn't bad. Its bad range is countered by being able to move fast to place the hit accordingly. However, the animation thing...

    It would be just AWESOMEST to have a different avenger animation per kind of stars. Gigantic steelies... Mechanical huge hwabies... Humongous Oranges... SO MUCH POTENTIAL.

    Or maybe even make Avenger and the rest of skills behave differently depending on the set, as a separate skill on 4th job, something like "star potential mastery"... Like Ilbies Need half the damage to Knockback, steelies ignoring some monster defense, or Hwabies dealing more critical damage... NOW THAT is what I want to see implemented.
