Any recent hacked accounts from Southperry users?

I havent had any problems with my two accounts. Though, there was an issue a few months ago where someone had emailed me on my BMs account email (my main use email aswell) asking me for the PIN for the account, and he put in the login and password. The login ive used in other places, the password somewhat newer. Incase it was a "password cache pasting" thing where it simply used a code to have my info put into the email once read or not idk, but i cleared the previous message and replied that he could go suck a ____ for all i cared. I still get emails from him, now just random spam since he put me on his contacts im guessing.

After I got that, sent an ticket to Nexon (which they eventually closed a week or so later without so much as a peep about it to me) and went about changing my password and pin.

Other than that, nothing at all.

My brother got weird ass hacked, meaning he lost a couple of useless items and some of his mesos. He has no account on any MapleStory forum and only uses my laptop to play MapleStory, since his computer can't run it. He also plays, at most, maybe twice a week. The "hacking" also occurred on an account he had not used for a month. His account information is, surprisingly, more hard to guess than mine.

What seems very odd is, that if it was a keylogger or any other virus problem, it would've affected my account too and probably harder, since I log onto it more often and have decent crap on it. None of that has happened to me.

We also don't use any prepatcher and just wait for the Nexon release.

If you don't want to get hacked, just stay logged in. Nobody can go on your account.

I tried to log on with the glitched prepatch and haven't ever changed my password since 2005, and I've never been hacked. I've never shared my account info with anyone. Unfortunately I have no idea what the email tied to the account is nor what my secret question/answers are, so if I happen to get hacked through an exploit, I'm done for =X

Thanks for telling me. I happen to have this super exploit readily at hand, and can hack anyone I want by simply typing "sudo account-get [Maplestory account name here]" in my terminal.

My Night Lord's account got hacked a while back, not too far back though.. I would say around a week or so before Aran patch. Anyways, I play on multiple accounts and log onto all my accounts either on my desktop or laptop. No one knows my info except for my real life girlfriend, so trust, the hacker was not her. I do -not- go into any random sites posted in my shop nor have I downloaded a keylogger (if I did, all my accounts would be compromised). Also my Night Lord's account has been inactive for the past year.. with the exception of logging on to add juniors.. so it's essentially a rep mule. They took everything that was on that account, which includes probably at most 8 sets of Icy stars, some cheese to use for APQ, probably at most 100k, a 10 dex sauna, and a 100%ed Skanda... oh and they also divorced my character.

Though this is before the Aran patch, soon after getting hacked, I saw a bunch of people posting that they got hacked. One of the things I found similar in my case and a friend of mine was that the e-mail account associated with the maple account is hosted by Hotmail and has an active running MSN. Now I'm not jumping into conclusion that that is why a lot of people are getting hacked. But, it might be?

Sorry, but I don't believe in the "wtpbbq, how'd I get hacked?!1". Theres always a logical reason. And if it really is a database problem I'm sure there would be much better targets.
