Ossyria didn't just steadily increase in level. In fact, once they did Leafre and hit the extreme high end, they dipped back down to mid levels (Mu Lung Gardens), then to low level (Ariant). From there they worked back up mid (Magatia + Elin) to high (Time Temple). Masteria could bounce around in level range as well, though I'd imagine there will be a decently high level boss in all regions.

Anyway, main thing I wanted to posted was an idea I think Nexon should try.
At the moment, we're facing a bit of a dilemma: It's likely 6-8 months before another Masteria expansion, and the iTCG will definitely be off the shelves long before then. Up till now, iTCG has been the main vehicle for new information on Masteria for us to speculate on, due to item flavor text in game and the iHints on the cards themselves. So, one thing we definitely need is a new vehicle for the dispersal of information on upcoming Masteria updates, and we need something to maintain interest in the Masteria storyline over the course of the months where little advancement is going on in game. What's a good way to do this?
In my opinion, the best way to do this would be to release "filler stories" detailing events on Masteria, both with the current areas and the new areas. There's a great opportunity for this in the tales of the Crimsonwood-Krakia war. We have one great example of this now, in the form of the tale of Headless Horseman. By using the Crimsonwood-Krakia war, not only will we have the setting in a familiar area that's already released, but we can learn about the enemy in the next area (Krakians), the Alchemist, and details on other historical figures in Masteria's past. These could be done, potentially, in three different ways: the first, and most obvious, is to post raw text stories as GM blogs on the nexon site. They have done this before, in the form of
Jack's exploration of the mansion prior to Halloween. It was pretty good, I wouldn't mind seeing this again.
The second possibility is a comic using Maple sprites. Again, this is something they had done before, in the Pirates promo. They told the story of Kyrin's father and of the Nautilus in comic form, and they did a decent job. I know that Nexon Korea does manga-style comics on a regular basis and that's great as well. The last possibility is a video, and they could tell the story in the form of youtube episodics. I think this would be a very good option as well, because by having it on youtube, it's in a place where lots more people can see it, and it would seemingly be good marketing because you could draw in potential new users who see and enjoy the series there.
It's likely that Nexon already has quite a bit of currently unused information lying around (what is typically called "world fluff", information used in development notes to help describe the way things are. I actually know for a fact they have this stuff, we found some of it on their FTP describing the Raven Ninjas and Lukan.) that could be used to engineer stories in this way. It wouldn't really take a lot of effort necessarily, and in my opinion it would greatly add to the experience and to Masteria itself.
Opinions? I really like this idea, I wish Nexon would think of it. xD
