with how much negative stuff from religious groups we see on homosexuality, it's nice to see a big company stand up for it.
I thought it was amusin
Being able to joke about something lightheartedly is good.
Does this ad run in mainstream media, or only gay magazines?
I'm beautiful in my way
'Cause God makes no mistakes
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born this way
I found the ad amusing. I then read the article and found myself genuinely appreciating Chevy's effort.
Less tactful was the quote, "altered the way that Americans viewed their LGBT neighbors", which I assume is just bad phrasing instead of implying LGBT aren't Americans...
notsureifjonunderstood
Chevrolet is implying that the car did not choose to be gay. The car was purposefully designed from the ground up to be gay. Thus, he was born that way, making the song incredibly fitting for the occasion, and it also jives with the commonly held beliefs of the LGBT community.
Maybe I'm thinking too hard again, dagnabbit.
Ah, didn't think of it that way. I understood the ad; I just failed to make the jump and use it for perspective. Makes sense now
indeed, really liked this ad.
also, the dad has a nice grill.
Chevy runs deep.
Chevy runs deep.
Chevy runs deep.
Yeah, not exactly bad that they ran this ad.
They don't show you behind the scenes where the Tahoe beats the electric out of the Volt :\
Too bad one of the parents can't say, "That's shocking," without ruining the message.
OH. SO THE VOLT IS THE GAY CAR.
^ That's my only concern with the ad, as there are enough dumbasses in America to jump to that idiotic conclusion and denounce all things "electric."
Actually, let them, they probably wouldn't last very long.
