I actually know some Creationists who do have a slightly different opinion. Creationism, which then led to evolution. It's not a bad compromise.

I think evolution is pretty undeniable at this point. I mean, I'd consider even the way humans change "evolution". Then when you consider all the millions of plant and animal life, and all the variations in such, it just seems like evolution and adaptation must have had some role in all that.

Not... quite. The person in particular I'm talking about is a bit radical.

His take on "Creationism" is so far out there that he'd be hard pressed to find support for it in the ID community.

Most specifically, he doesn't believe in certain things being "too complex" to have evolved a certain way; he has a pretty deep christian background, and he still believes in a supreme being, but he's very rooted in science.

Sounds more like the "I don't want to offend anyone" way out of it.

A closer evaluation would be the "I'm going to offend everyone" route.

I mean it really isn't a bad compromise. Sure it isn't proven by "science", but science can't (yet) disprove that a supreme being created the Big Bang that created the universe and all its wonderful constituents. If i were one to believe in supreme beings, I would try as hard as I could to prove it right simply because that would legitimize my religion by fact.

As far as his sentiments; I agree that we don't need more extremist from the religious point of view, but there has to be a balance to prevent backlash. What needs to be inspired in children is curiosity; rather than being told of absolutes in the strictest sense. Allow them to question for themselves instead of answering them preemptively. That is the essence of science for me anyway. Granted; I'm no parent, but that's my take on things.

My thought on Creationism or ID versus evolution comes down to this: Would this supreme being do the easy poof things into existence as is or would it come up with the much more intricate and awesome way Evolution says things came to be?

I feel Evolution gives god a lot more credit to its creativity don't you?
