I'm nearly through book 3, been powering through it all. I intend to be done with the series as written by the end of April. Good stuff.

Is there any other way to read them? I couldn't put them down once I started. I seriously suspect my grades fell solely because of them lol

I get through roughly 2-5% of the total amount per day on average. Considering that's 5 books, that's 10-25% of a book a day. As I said, good pomegranate.

- Martin himself likes to point out that A Storm of Swords, currently the second longest part of the series, has about the same word count as the entirety of The Lord of the Rings.
dat's just one book yo.
I read them all in a row too, during the 30 minutes I had for a break at work, and 30 minutes before work began. They lasted me a LONG time.
The font is pretty small too D:

I get about an hour to an hour and a half a day for lunch unless North Korea is doing something wonky. I get a lot of reading in daily :D
Re: Reading Game of Thrones and now I have this problem
Now that the sixth book is around the corner I feel kind of guilty having finished all 5 other books so long ago and not remembering all the things.
Re: Reading Game of Thrones and now I have this problem
Just started book 4, loving the focus on different characters. Finished Season 2 of the show as well.
Re: Reading Game of Thrones and now I have this problem
I haven't gotten around to watching the series, I'm just now downloading them again. I remember starting the series but having a lot of conflict between how I imagined things and how they were portrayed in the series, but it might be a good way of catching up on the main events of the story before jumping into book 6.

These two sentences contradict each other.
Re: Reading Game of Thrones and now I have this problem
I am so excited for Winds of Winter. I think a reread might be in order once GRRM announces the release date.

Not at all. To clarify, I get about 1-1.5hours of reading during lunch PLUS whatever other reading I do each day (usually an additional 1-2 hours before going to bed). What I was trying to say is that having all of that extra time during lunch to read is great.

This is not a problem, but

this is the solution.
I'll probably be rereading them before the next one comes out as well.

I'm pretty sure he meant this part:
unless North Korea is doing something wonky.
Since North Korea is always doing something wonky you would have no time to read thus you would get no reading done on a daily basis.

Something crazy by North Korea standards. Of course they're always doing something silly.

If they realized it was slowing down your reading, I'm sure they'd wait until the end of your shift.
Re: Reading Game of Thrones and now I have this problem
I'm pretty sure I heard from a reliable sources girlfriends' cousin that North Korea is holding back on any military action until George R.R Martin finishes the last book.
So we should be safe for a long time.

This is why I'm not going to even start them until they're all out. I might be waiting a while but I'd rather do that.
A series I read when I was younger has about 10-15 books in it, and when I read them as they were released I forgot so much. I started re-reading them for the hell of it (plus I never read the last two or three, so I decided to refresh my memory) and so many details were lost on me those years ago because of how long I waited between each book.
I don't want to do that again, so I refuse to read an incomplete series from now on.

It must've been Dennis Readman. I don't think he's had the balls to tell KJU that his hero, died yet though...we may just see a nuclear strike in retaliation for that one.
