How long a Gm can wait in the ticket?

So when they wait a response how long can we delay it?

Didn't you get an email that tells you that they're awaiting your response and if you don't update within X days the ticket will be closed?

Well i don't see where how many days they could wait.
Edit: they don't usually say how many days i guess.
