I feel like they've turned MapleStory into a terrible flash game, with the way the numbers pop up now. The multi-kill and "combo" nonsense is just plain stupid and unnecessary.

According to Max, this new damage look is optional, you can switch from the old one to the new and vice versa.

The multi-kill and combo supposedly give you extra experience or something. Still the way they are displayed is ugly.
One reason I started playing Maple, all those years ago, was its relatively "clean" look. With the years, though, it's gotten so much worse. Bigger and flashier skills, effects, things following your char (and every other) around... so much clutter, so much eye pain (and don't get me started on the sound effects and voice acting).
Please please add an option for "schematic" display, like the simplified mini-map. Small, unobtrusive symbols and numbers. Make it possible to see my char, my enemies, what each is doing, and what buffs and statuses are in effect.

I just hope that the combo is also optional like Imaginal said unless you need to see it since it gives bonuses like sapta said.

Nah the combo system is fine since it gives extra experience, I just don't want to literally see numbers flying everywhere.

I love the idea of a combo system for training (I loved it in games like DFO and DN), but I can see those numbers being a real pain in situations that require serious concentration, like bossing.
Pleased with concept, not so pleased with execution.
