Wireless mouse won't work properly

It's a Logitecg M325 wireless mouse.
I plug in this little USB receiver thing, and for a good 3-5 minutes, it works. But for whatever reason, it will eventually stop working. And once it stops working, I can't get it to start working again until after restarting the computer. Moving it from one USB port to the other does not solve the problem. The battery is fresh-out-of-the-box new, so I know it's not the battery.
I even downloaded this "Unifying" software thing from the logitech website, and even that couldn't fix the issue (i.e. the program itself couldn't figure out why it didn't work).
Other than going through some BS troubleshooting page that doesn't solve this issue, what's another solution to fix the problem that doesn't include replacing the mouse?
