There are what feels like millions of them out there, and have been for ages, so let's have a little homage to some of our favorites.
If you don't like/read webcomics posting just to say so will be considered spam.
Listing the URLs in response to the questions will not be considered advertising as it's in context here.

• Dr. McNinja
• Hark, a vagrant - I don't know, I just find it endearing in a random, air-headed sort of way
• Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal - a bit hit and miss for me, but mostly a reliable source of snark

2) What's a defunct (dead without a real conclusion) web comic do you miss?

• Life of Riley - Good memories, man, good memories
• Angst Technology

3) What webcomic did you enjoy that ended/concluded?

• Bite Me
• Mac Hall - So it sort of continues as 3 Panel Soul, but I miss the days when Ian used colour in his comics.
• RPG World - at least I heard it got a conclusion? I stopped checking after the updates slowed to a crawl and the artist put it in deep freeze.

4) What's a webcomic you've been recommended by others but just can't get into?

• Subnormality - Gigantic walls of text, tends to feel more like a rant in disguise than a comic

There are plenty of others, but for most cases, it's simply because I don't have the time. I have this fantasy of going back one day and picking them up again. Probably not gonna happen.

5) What's a webcomic you just can't stand / hate?
I don't have any that I hate outright, because if I didn't like it, or stopped liking it one day, I went elsewhere and forgot about it. So the question becomes:

5) What's a webcomic you've lost interest in and abandoned?

• Megatokyo - The plot just moved too slowly and started going stale. I kept reading it even then, because the art is pretty. Guy used to be an architect, and it shows when he makes the effort to draw the background/scenery.

Any chance you could post a link to a single favourite sample of each comic as well? A lot of comics have a single gold nugget in a pile of turds so just randomly clicking may not be enough to get someone to go "Oh hey, this is really good!"

People are welcome to if they have one/ can but some comics just don't work well without you already getting what's going on by having read through it to the culmination.

I don't read any that died actually but http://fanboys-online.com/ used to be pretty dead but it's alive again now.

All i read haven't ended/Don't have an end planned for them.

Used to be homestuck but got into it a few weeks ago, tried starting on it like 15 times i think, haha.

I'd say CTRL-ATL-DEL, but I'm more of a person who just wishes the creator puts more effort into the comics (design wise and humor wise), makes the main character less of an Idiot Houdini, and of course less words. Can't stand/hate it? Really close to can't stand/hate, but not exactly.

Neglected Mario Characters (http://smbhq.com/nc/) - Technically, it isn't dead per se, but the original creator left after not updating in forever and now some other guy runs it. It still rarely updates anyway.

CTRL+ALT+DEL all the way. Aside from the fact that all the characters have the same face due to the creator doing the bare minimum to "draw" the comic (what with the templates and all). Then there's the fact that the main character always wins. And the miscarriage. And unfunny walls of text. Also, Winter-Een-Mas is probably the stupidest name for a "holiday" I have ever heard of. Pretty much, I think of CAD as a Family Guy starring "nerds".

i don't read many, if any webcomics, so i'm pretty lacking, there's been only one that is my favorite.

• the story of two homosexual girls and a cat that go on adventures, it's VERY NSFW, so i am not linking it. it's my absolute favorite of all times though

Story-wise (Forgive my lack of commentary here, don't know how to review these without spoilers):

Cyanide & Happiness. Nothing needs to be said about this one.
Brawl in the Family. Great for Nintendo fans. (Honorary mention: SUPER EFFECTIVE!)
Awkward Zombie. Been watching her work ever since her days on deviantART, I love her sense of gaming humor.

Hanna Is Not A Boy's Name. It was going great but the artist just suddenly stopped updating.

I managed to only ever complete one webcomic but it was very nice.

Hark, a vagrant. It's funny and has its great moments but I just can't seem to read most of them without stopping halfway through the page I'm on and losing interest.

Ctrl+Alt+Del. Not so much hate as much as "used to love, now I just don't." It still has its funny moments, but most of the comic now is just... eh.

Aaron Diaz, the most maddening genius of webcomicery has finally concluded the first chapter of Dark Science. It only took him one year and 10 months to do 18 pages.
Just under a page a month or, his normal pace. Maddening indeed.
