Arkarium: yet another (tough?) battle

So, I recently went on an Arkarium expedition with some randoms just to figure how it worked.

As expected, it hits hard. Around 28k touch and over 20k normal attacks. Heals like HELL when his monks are summoned. Those are tough as well.

What I noticed:

- Damage Reflect is casted pretty often. Now, I don't know what the time span is, but if anyone could help it'd be appreciated
- His monks are only killable by mages. Physical attacks will only do 1s to them.
- His healing is linked to the presence or not of those monks. They heal 10m HP to whole map's mobs, as stated in extractions (they should therefore be killed ASAP or you're screwed)
- He casts some new skills such as blocking you in stone (you have to free yourself by pressing right and left arrows fast) and transforming to a Mutant Ribbon Pig. He also uses a strange spell which makes a symbol with an arrow or two appear on your head. Still gotta figure this out.

So yeah. Mages are indeed needed for this expedition. But there are probably many more classes (therefore skills) needed to be able to defeat him. One useful skill could be Magic Crash. Also HB (obviously), and several defense / attack skills from other jobs.

What do you think? What could be a strategy to defeat him? What classes / skills are definitely needed? Let's discuss together.

It would probably be enough to have enough magi to deal with monks and then just DPS him to hell since you don't get kicked out of battle because of death.

Whats the limit of players that can get into the run?

Haven't experienced it yet. Even if there was one, you can come back after dying anyways, so it wouldn't matter THAT much (as long as he only casted it once in a while).

5m HP? That doesn't seem so hard.

Also they have 99% PDR. Do you have no PDR ignore? That might be why you hit 1s.

I'd say that a few battle mages are indispensable to any Akyrum expedition.
Party Shield for mega attacks + mages, so they take out the Monks + Auras.

I've always wondered, do Smokescreen/Party Shield protect against status debuffs?

PDR ignore does not apply to the monsters.

I see. Well i guess that makes evans and BaMs that much more important.

Demon Impact on my DS tells me I only do 1 damage, I must've failed math. (a bit of sarcasm)

I winged it and got him down to 50% HP within the time limit, soloing, and mainly just experimenting, not really trying to kill him.

Touch only did 18-19k to me and I only have like 2.5k W.Def. :f6:
Monks were very easy to take out.
Got hit a couple times with that full map skill that does 999,999. Was very lulzy.

I have 9999 def and he hits me 37k Damage.
