Greeting Maple Card Players –
We wanted to take a few moments and update you on the progress of the MapleStory Interactive Trading Card Game. We’re continuing to test the game internally and we’re very pleased with the progress we’ve made. We’re getting ready for another round of beta testing and we’ll let you know as soon as we’re ready to open it up to our fans.
Here are some of the improvements we’ve worked into the game:
Multiple Channels, smoother presentation

One of the iTCG’s team’s mandates was to improve the overall visual appearance and functionality of the game. We’ve cleaned up the color schemes, moved items around so that all your relevant character information is easy to find. We’ve also added a friends list that will allow you to find your friends (or foes) quickly and easily and challenge them when they’re online.
There’s also now an option to “Spectate.” One of the best ways become really a good iTCG players is to watch others and learn all sorts of interesting strategies. It’s also just fun to watch your friends play and root them on to victory.
Card Drawing mini-game

This one was just fun for us. The mechanics are the same but we added a bit of razzle-dazzle to the purchase of a random card. You might get something amazing, you might get something common, but everyone’s a winner in the card-drawing mini-game!
Easier tutorial

We want to make it easy for anybody to learn the basics of the card game and get into the action as quickly as possible. This new animated tutorial goes a long way toward making that happen. We’ve also included strategy tips that show up at the beginning of each duel that can help you become a better player.
Improved playfield

Players may now choose at game creation whether to place time limits on plays. We also have a selection of backgrounds ranging from the block city of Ludibrium to the well known meeting ground of Henesys. The clearest improvement, though, is that the new layout makes it easier than ever to bring up images of full cards – text and all. Even better, if you happen to miss something, a stronger “History” function will allow you to look back over the whole game. This should prove invaluable in planning out strategy.
Deck Creation

We’ve overhauled our deck creation utility to make deck creation easier and organize all your different decks and cards in a way that makes sense.
So that’s it for now. We hope you’re looking forward to the game as much as we are in bringing to you!
