Why are Ryude's swords "so good"?

- 8 slots at most compared to 10 from other weapons
- Only 10% boss dmg on the weapon against 30% from other swords
- No set bonuses
- It is getting nerfed during Reboot (some way I don't know)
- 165 base att against 171 from fafnir (not to mention commerci and absolabs)

I am aware they add an extra line to any or most attacks however does that really make up for everything else that is missing? does it really make them worth 40B or so in scania right now? for gods sake...

IIRC it's great for kaiser, i think it was because tornado is a huge DPS attack and ryude's effect of adding an extra line duplicates it's damage.

yeah double damage on fast hitting attacks is pretty huge

So is this sword good for any other job other than Kaiser? are Kaisers the only ones inflating this sword to 40b?

And people wonders why I hate the job.

It's more like 1 extra line can deal about 50mil more damage for each attack if you're capping, for Hero, Paladin, Dawn Warrior and Kaiser. That's a huge damage difference. Probably not so much better when you're not capping.

It's the same boost whether you're capping or not.
If you add one line to a one-line skill, you double your DPS.
If you add one line to a 5-line skill, you add 20% to your overall DPS.
If you add one line to a 20-line skill (or however many Dawn Warriors have), you add 5% to your overall DPS.

I don't think it's the same boost when you're not capping. Is the 1 extra line better than the 50% boss damage (from weapon and cra set) and 6 attack you lose from a fafnir?

It's the same for all levels of funding. increase = (nAttacks +1) / nAttacks

The only caveat is that if you hit cap without needing the extra %boss and att, this is the only way to increase your damage.

Depends on how much boss damage and attack you already have.
But you're right that if you don't cap with the Ryude's you need to take the damage difference per line into account.

Dawn Warriors would do a max of 16 hits with Ryude's however max line cap seems to be 15 still so it would increase their lines by 1 instead of the normal 14 (For their mobbing skill not their bossing which seemingly isn't that good?).
