Sponsor:

The MapleStory Design a Masteria Party Quest Contest" (the Promotion) is sponsored by Nexon America, Inc., 137 N. Larchmont Blvd., #619 Los Angeles, CA 90004-3704 (Sponsor).
Eligibility:

The Promotion is open only to: (a) legal residents of: (i) the United States of America (including all territories and possessions thereof); Canada (excluding Quebec); (iii) Australia; or (iv) New Zealand; (b) who are at least eighteen (18) years of age as of the start of the Promotion Period (defined below) or have reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence, whichever is older; (c) who are registered users of nexon.net (registration is free) and players of MapleStory (playing MapleStory is also free); and (d) who have never been banned or suspended, or had an account banned or suspended, for hacking or similar violations of any of Sponsor license agreements or Sponsors terms of service. Employees, officers and directors of Nexon America, Inc., its affiliated companies, agents thereof, the immediate family of any such person (defined as parents, children, siblings and husband or wife), or those with whom such person(s) are domiciled, are not eligible to participate. The Promotion is void where prohibited.
Agreement to Official Rules:

Participation in the Promotion constitutes the participants full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.
Timing:

The Promotion begins on Friday, June 28 at 08:00:00 pm Pacific Time (PT) and ends on July 5 at 11:59:59 pm PT (the Promotion Period). Entries that are submitted before or after the Promotion Period will be disqualified. Sponsors computer will be the official timekeeping device for this Promotion.
How to Participate:

To participate in the promotion, entrants should send an e-mail to community@nexon.net with the following:

Subject: MapleStory Design a PQ Contest(note: other subject lines may cause the entry to be disqualified).

Body: In the body of the e-mail, entrants must include the following:

First and last name of the entrant, home address and telephone number
Nexon.net Account ID (or e-mail address)
Name of MapleStory character
Full description of the party quest idea, including

Storyline
Non-player characters involved
Monsters
Area theme
Any other information relevant to the quest idea
The quest idea should be specific to Masteria. Quests applicable to other areas and territories within MapleWorld may not be eligible to be judged. E-mails that include all of the required information and are eligible to be judged will be referred to as Submissions.

Content Guidelines

a.The Submission must be no more than two (2) pages in length.

b.The Submission must be written in English.

c.The Submission must include enough detail to form a party quest (e.g., lets go kill a monster would not be sufficient).

d.All Submissions (including all parts thereof) must meet each of the following requirements in order to be eligible for acceptance in the Promotion:

(i)The Submission may not contain material that violates or infringes anothers rights, including but not limited to privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights, or that constitutes copyright or trademark infringement. Any content that appears in the Submission must be entirely original, created and performed solely by the Entrants, or be in the public domain. Use of any content that is not original or in the public domain may result in disqualification of the Submission, in the Sponsors sole discretion.

(ii)The Submission must not in any way disparage Sponsor, any of its products or services, the Promotion, or any person or party affiliated with the Promotion, or alternatively appear to promote any direct competitor of Sponsor;

(iii)The Submission must not feature brand names or trademarks other than those owned by Sponsor;

(iv)The Submission may not contain text or imagery that is inappropriate, indecent, obscene hateful, tortious, defamatory, slanderous or libelous (as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion). The Submission must not include threats (expressed or implied) to any person, place, business, or group. The Submission must not violate the privacy rights or any other rights of any person, business, or group, and the Submission must not name or depict any third party without his/her permission;

(v)The Submission must not contain text or imagery that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age;

(vi)The Submission may not depict or encourage any dangerous, life-threatening, or otherwise risky behavior;

(vii)The Submission must not contain material that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to the laws or regulations in any jurisdiction where the Submission is created.

Limit: There is a limit of one (1) Submission per entrant, Nexon.net Account ID or e-mail address. If an entrant has multiple accounts or addresses, the account that will be deemed to be the account used to participate in the Promotion will be the users first account that used to participate. Multiple entries from the same person, Account ID or e-mail address will not be accepted, or if accepted, may result in the later entries being disqualified and/or the entrant being disqualified completely (as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion). Entrants may not use multiple email addresses to create multiple registrations or participate in the Promotion more than the allotted number of times. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, illegible or misdirected entries, which will be disqualified/not counted (as applicable), or for any error, whether human, technical or otherwise. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any entrant it finds to be tampering with the operation of the Promotion, such as using automated voting software, or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, the authorized account holder of the e-mail address used to submit the entry will be deemed to be the entrant. The authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address.

Please note that the personal data an entrant gives to Sponsor as part of their participation in the Promotion will be stored on servers in the United States. Participation in the Promotion constitutes entrant's consent to the export, if applicable, of his/her personal data to the United States and its use there for the purposes of administering this Promotion and associated processing (including but not limited to backing up and archiving). The servers are controlled by the Sponsor.
Idea Creation, Ownership and Control; Submission Ownership: :

The theme of this Promotion is to create an idea for a party quest. Entrants acknowledge that ideas can be similar in a variety of ways, and that Sponsor not only will receive a significant number of ideas that may be similar to any one Submission, but also that Sponsor is creating party quest ideas on its own, without reference to any Submission, all of the time. As such, Sponsor has no liability to any entrant, nor does any entrant have any liability to any other entrant, for any idea that may be similar to a Submission. Entrants acknowledge and agree that there is no contract between the entrant and Sponsor, either express or implied, regarding use of the idea contained within the Submission. Moreover, by participating in the Promotion, entrants agree that: (1) their Submissions and the contents thereof will automatically become the property of Sponsor, without any compensation to the entrant; (2) Sponsor may use or redistribute the Submissions and their contents for any purpose and in any way; and (3) there is no obligation to keep any Submissions confidential.
Winner Selection:

After the Promotion Period has ended, Sponsor will select a qualified judge or panel of qualified judges to judge all eligible entries according to the following criteria:

Clarity - 20\%
Thoroughness - 20\%
Originality - 20\%
Entertainment Value - 20\%
Feasibility (of implementation into MapleStory) - 20\%
The judge(s) will select a potential Grand Prize winner, Second Prize winner, and Third Prize winner from among all eligible entries using the judging criteria noted above.
Notification and Requirements of a Potential Winner: Each potential winner will be notified after the date of selection at his/her email address used to submit the Submission (or other means of communication as Sponsor may select). Potential prize winners may be required to sign and return to Sponsor, within ten (10) days of the date notice is sent, a confirmation of an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability and Publicity Release (if a legal resident of the United States) ("Affidavit") or a Declaration of Compliance (if a legal resident of Canada) ("Declaration") (except where prohibited) in order to claim his/her prize. If a potential winner cannot be contacted, fails to respond to the notification within the required time period (if applicable), or fails to sign and return the Affidavit or Declaration within the required time period (if applicable), he/she will be disqualified and will forfeit the applicable prize. If any potential winner is disqualified for any reason, Sponsor will award the applicable prize to an alternate potential winner to be chosen based upon the winner selection criteria described in Section 6.
Prizes:

Grand Prize: The Grand Prize winner will receive 100,000 Maple Points, and have the party quest idea considered for future development. Consideration does not mean that the party quest idea will be implemented in any future version of MapleStory, and Sponsor has no obligation to use the party quest idea in any way.

Second Place Prize: 50,000 Maple Points

Third Place Prize: 25,000 Maple Points

Maple Points have no cash value, and are usable only in MapleStory. Visit www.nexon.net for more. Any prize details not specified above will be determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion. No cash or other substitution is allowed except by the Sponsor who may substitute a prize (or component thereof) with another prize (or component thereof) of equal or greater value, as determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion. The prize is not transferable or refundable and must be accepted as awarded. The winners are responsible for any and all other costs and expenses not listed above. Winners will be responsible for payment and reporting of all applicable taxes associated with the receipt and usage of a prize. Sponsor may report the receipt of any prize to the appropriate federal, state, or local taxing agency(ies). Please allow at least thirty (30) days for the prizes to be reflected in the winners accounts once winners have been confirmed.
Warranties and Representations:

By submitting a Submission, each entrant warrants and represents that: (i) the Submission is original to the entrant, (ii) the Submission does not infringe the intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or any other rights of any third party, (iii) the Submission does not violate any law, regulation, or any provision of these Official Rules, (iv) the Submission has not previously been entered in any other contest or promotion, (v) the Submission has not been previously published in any medium; (vi) the entrant has read and understood these Official Rules, (vii) at all times the entrant have complied fully with these Official Rules; and (viii) the entrant will continue to comply in full with these Official Rules until the Promotion has been completed.
Sponsors Rights to the Entry:

By submitting an entry, each entrant:

a.Irrevocably grants to the Sponsor, its agents, licensees, and assigns the unconditional, worldwide, royalty-free and perpetual (non-exclusive) right and permission to copyright, reproduce, encode, store, copy, transmit, publish, post, broadcast, display, publicly perform, adapt, modify, create derivative works of, exhibit, and otherwise use the Submission as-is or as-edited (with or without using entrants name) in any media throughout the world for any purpose, without limitation, and without additional review, compensation, or approval from entrant or any other party;

b.Forever waives any rights of copyrights, trademark rights, privacy rights, and any other legal or moral rights that may preclude the Sponsors use of the Submission, or require the entrants permission for the Sponsor to use the Submission;

c.Agrees not to instigate, support, maintain, or authorize any action, claim, or lawsuit against the Sponsor on the grounds that any use of the Submission, or any derivative works, infringes any of the entrants rights as creator of the Submission including, without limitation, copyrights, trademark rights, and moral rights; and

c.Irrevocably grants to Sponsor, its agents, licensees, and assigns an unconditional, worldwide, royalty-free and perpetual (non-exclusive) right and permission to use the entrants name, image, voice, and other likenesses that are included in the Submission or which are shared with Sponsor as part of entrants participation in the Promotion in any media now known or later invented for any commercial purpose, including without limitation advertising or marketing of Sponsors products and services, without further compensation or the right to approve such uses.

Privacy and Publicity:

Except as set forth herein, all information submitted by entrants in the Promotion will be treated according to the Sponsors Privacy Policy (http://www.nexon.net/legal/privacy-policy/). Except where prohibited, participation in the Promotion constitutes entrants consent to the Sponsors use of his/her name, likeness, voice, opinions, biographical information, and country and state or province of residence for promotional purposes in any media without further payment or consideration.
Indemnification:

By entering, entrants agree to defend, indemnify and otherwise hold Sponsor, its parent and affiliated companies, and the agents, officers, directors, and employees of each (collectively the Released Parties) harmless from and against any and all liability of any nature whatsoever arising out of or relating to (a) any technical errors that may prevent entrants from participating in any way; (b) unauthorized human intervention in the Promotion; (c) errors in the administration of the Promotion; and (d) injury, death, or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrants participation in the Promotion or receipt or use of any prize, including any such claim by the Released Parties employees or any third parties. Entrant further agrees that in any cause of action, the Released Parties liability will be limited to the cost of entering and participating in the Promotion, and in no event shall the Released Parties be liable for attorneys fees. Entrant waives the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages.
Disputes:

Except where prohibited, all entrants agree that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the Promotion or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court located in Los Angeles County, California, United States of America. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, entrants rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the Sponsor in connection with the Promotion, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of California, United States of America, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of California or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than California.
General Conditions:

In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the Promotion is impaired in any way for any reason, including, but not limited to fraud, virus, or other technical problem, the Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, either (a) suspend the Promotion to address the impairment and then resume the Promotion in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules or (b) award the prizes from among the entries received up to the time of the impairment. Any attempt by any person to undermine the legitimate operation of the Promotion may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Failure by the Sponsor to enforce any provision of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. The Promotion is void where prohibited.
Winners List:

Approximately sixty (60) days after the judging and confirmation of potential winners has been completed, Sponsor will announce the winners on the Promotion Site.
