Re: Pokemon Zeta / Omnicron

horsea a bad starter? get off. brbswiftswimmin' to death
Re: Pokemon Zeta / Omnicron
I downloaded it. It looks promising.
Re: Pokemon Zeta / Omnicron
I saw someone playing this on Twitch the other day when I went to check up on TPP and thought I'd give it a try myself. Played through it for maybe half an hour and noticed several of the "funny references" you were referring to, but Pokemon games just don't really appeal to me anymore, so I gave up on it.

Fighting other trainers is where you get all your experience, so yo're constantly forced to use strategy when you're fighting people who have Pokemon at equal if not higher exp than you.
Re: Pokemon Zeta / Omnicron
The randomizer mode is hilarious. I started with a level 7 Honchkrow and my first wild fight was against a level 4 Emboar.
Re: Pokemon Zeta / Omnicron
Yeah, those starters suck so bad. Bellsprout it is I guess.
Re: Pokemon Zeta / Omnicron
So apparently starting the game in nuzlocke mode grants certain benefits such as a specific store to buy items that act as HMs (which you would normally need to search for). Is there a list somewhere of all other such benefits?
Re: Pokemon Zeta / Omnicron
These games would be great but they feel so out of place when they aren't on my 3ds :(
Also how do you save this thing? Like wheres the save file?
Re: Pokemon Zeta / Omnicron
I just started checking it out and so far it looks interesting. Hopefully I get more time to play after work

By saving in-game. There isn't save states like emulators such as Desume have. But I believe you can run multiple games at once (there is a Save File option on the start menu, so you can play up to 3 games without deleting data.)
I think the save file is the Game.rxdata file, which is C:\Users\Owner\Saved Games for me.

I find most things on the subreddit (I'm in my phone so I'm lazy to post the link).

Re: Pokemon Zeta / Omnicron
This looks great, but like KhainiWest said, the fact that it isn't on my 3DS means I can't cuddle up to it and enjoy the game. Plus the installation/customization/etc seem a little too complicated for my taste. I like to just click and go D:
but I'll give it a shot this weekend anyways.
Re: Pokemon Zeta / Omnicron
I thought it was less complicated to install than Maplestory :f6:.

Well, with maplestory you just download the installer and poof- play me!
I think I'm just being a little nitpicky because I want to have the animations and B/W customization. Since all I have is a Mac, I have to dig around in folders I'm not entirely fond of digging around in.
Re: Pokemon Zeta / Omnicron
Do the in game trainers have competitive teams or movesets? If not, Sunny Day Victreebel or Rain Dance Kingdra will be playing on easy mode.
Magby is a really odd choice for the fire starter. It should have been Litwick IMO.

Have fun trying to set up when if you get hit by a super-effective move, you're usually dead.
'Course it's still powerful and very strong (...Spore Victreebel is kinda OP) but it's not as easy as in the regular games.
Re: Pokemon Zeta / Omnicron
I was enjoying this game until I came across a trainer who had a level 9 of some Pokemon that could one-hit kill every single one of my Pokemon, which were all level 9 ~ 11, with a move that wasn't super effective against any of my Pokemanz.
