View Full Version : Whats Your IQ?

So, always a fun thing to answer: what is your IQ? Ive taken a few IQ tests online, and so far this is the best one I have found

http://www.highiqsociety.org/iq_tests/

So, post your score, and whether or not it was the advanced (TA3) or normal IQ test. The tests normally use time as a factor, so looking up answers on google could easily lower your score rather than helm it.

I will try and keep this post updated with the AVERAGE IQ of all who post their score, along with the lowest, and the highest out of them all.

My score for the normal test was 115. For the advanced I got 100 even XD

Highest: 131 (2)
Average: 110
Lowest: 83

I like, spent 2 minutes on the test, guessed on mostly everything with a glance and got an 83. :/ If I was actually trying I could do better. I'm just to tired to care. xD

Eww. I didn't know any of the theorems for the last part, the factual knowledge, and I'm terrible at visual memory to top that off.

I still got a 121 though :/. (TA3) Maybe I'll try it again when I'm more awake...

EDIT: Re-took it. 126 now.

ohsnap! I scored higher by guessing randomly XD:cool:

94 on random guesses. Too lazy to take it seriously. D:

Oh, and IQ test bug me. I took one a while ago, in real life(wtf is that?). On that test, 80-70 was stupid, below that was DeDeDee. 120-ish was average, I think, and 130 was gifted.
On this test, 55 is Dededee, 100 is average, and 160 is gifted. .__.

I detest IQ tests. I took a computer one with my "friend" years ago, he scored higher, and he thought I was of inferior intellect ever since. Though I graduated Georgetown and became a professional writer, and he flunked out of three colleges. I dated a girl who had 151 IQ, and we were always on equal terms... I think stuff like MENSA is just elitist bullshit to make the "in" people feel better about themselves at the expense of others.

Psychology is a fairly young discipline and not that much is known about the brain. To somehow claim that they've discovered a "reliable" way of measuring intellect is pretty stupid, imo.

I did not see this as a true IQ test, as too much of it was based on actual knowledge and not the ability to think, reason or use logic which is what IQ truly is. The sequential part of the test was appropriate, but being able to name various mathematical theories or paradoxes does not measure intelligence.

Basically, it's a fun way to use your brain for a few minutes, but I wouldn't take the results too seriously. As with any test of intelligence, your level of intelligence doesn't matter nearly as much as what you are able to do with it. I consistently test in the very high range, and yet due to learning diabilities (dyslexia, etc) I did not do nearly as well in school or in life as my husband who has a slightly lower IQ (2 points) but has a doctorate.

Or, to put it in words that teens may better understand...it's not the size, it's how you use it

By definition, a score of 100 on an IQ test is average. Anyone who tells you anything else is wrong, lying, or using an intelligence test which does not measure IQ. See, IQ stands for intelligence quotient, and it is represented as a 100 baseline when comparing you to your piers. Small children and very old people tend to be less intelligent, so if you're very sharp at a young age or quick when you're old, your IQ will actually be a bit higher. Alternatively, if you peak young and remain level throughout your life (not really possible...), your IQ will appear less impressive during the middle of your life.

Incidentally, I recall taking one of these things before and being intensely dissatisfied with it. Too much emphasis on speed. I have an excellent capacity for learning (was at the top of the test scores of the last math class I took in High School... when I failed it due to not doing any of the homework), but sometimes I'm just not so fast. Also, as others have said, some of these things test knowledge, and that's not related to intelligence at all (although intelligence can be identified as one's potential capacity for knowledge). Someone who is very intelligent can be not very knowledgeable and vice versa. I think the score I got on the one I took before was between 125 and 129, but I do recall noting that it was definitely below 130. This must've been about 5 years ago though... haha. If I was to take the same test now, I'd get a lower score I think. Second half of high school into college years, I kinda fizzled out. I still have intelligence, but I hardly practice it at all, so I surely would come off as weaker on a test now.

I agree with you and with MadreDeFielyWillow.

Anyway, I took the regular test and the advanced test, I got 114 on both. But it is important to add that I had a hard time with the definitions of some of the words there, since English is my second language, so I ended up guessing a few answers. :f4: Could I get a Hebrew translated test?

I've taken a few other IQ tests in the past and scored anywhere between 132 to 140. I wouldn't trust online tests tbh.

I got 129 on the TE3, I did badly on the ~13/36 that are fact-based (they call naming theorems math? what is that, I'm good at real math, not naming theorems)
For a breakdown on that,
-6 knowledge
-4 math
-3 analogies

If you don't know what a American Vice President lives in, you're obviously not good at forming analogies :>

140 on the normal one, I didn't like it though. Again too much fact rather than doing.

The questions in the test are based off of knowledge of certain governments and ect. that most younger people would not know. What age is this test based off of... When I was in grade 1 the government funded me an actual test which took an entire school day. I think my result from that was 136. From this test I only got in the 120s...

I don't trust online IQ tests (generally biased, poorly weighted, etc) and I dislike IQ tests in general. All I really care about are my grades and how well I can actually perform in the real world. I don't give a bother about how I compare to the "average" person. They do, however, seem to show that humanity is getting smarter - a good thing, I hope.

My result was 131, which seems rather high to me. I'd plot myself at 120, max, if I had to.

well.. i got 115 on the regular test and 121 on the advanced one w/e its name is.
i did some guessing too cuz engrish are my second language and i dont learn english literature or geography (well i learned alittle geography in elementary school and thats it).
i dont believe in IQ tests actually, not the ones on the net and not every other IQ test, simply cuz its not accurate enough and i dont think it ever will.

Like I said, if your intelligence is high at a young age and remains constant throughout your life, your IQ will be lower as you get into your young adult years.

Also, online IQ tests are far from accurate.

All I really care about are my grades
Grades are not an accurate measure of intelligence. They're a measure of how hard you try. Even people of very low intelligence can get good grades in a difficult course with work, and even intelligent people can fail classes if they fail to try.

I know they're only measures of work - but my work ethic is where I've failed for the first six-sevenths of my life, so it's a big accomplishment for me to actually be able to stand all the busywork that gets thrown at me without giving up.

Plus, I get scholarships for having good grades. Grades = money = time = important, yes?

My guess would be "NO" you don't have an IQ of 85. Hope that helps you sleep a little better tonight.

Just for the record, this test showed me as 50 points below what Mensa tested me at, and that Mensa score was averaged from several different tests over several years during my mid- to late-30's.

Again, too much of this test was exact knowledge which truly has no place on an IQ test.

115 on the advanced (stupid factual information crap got me - facts have NO business on an IQ test that is meant to determine intelligence. Considering that they ask you to pay for a profile, I assume these were placed on the test to make those who passed feel smart or to add a sense of "legitimacy" to the test.)

true, but thats what the timer is for, and also, to those complaining that they have facts, its actually better that they do, because you would look kinda dumb to sit there and talk bout something irrelevant to a question about recent events. Also, the IQ tests have changed from time to time, so the facts actually bring it more closer to what it really should be.
