Post specific manga you're reading right now and what you recommend.
My (long) list.
http://www.mangaupdates.com/mylist.html?id=48342&list=read
Most of it, I haven't started, but I plan to eventually. heh. Anyways, if you're actually bothering to look through it, anything with a rating and/or a progress past chapter 1 I've read.

Currently reading Watashi no Messiah-sama. About half-way through and it's great.

I'm reading Hayate, but that's it.

I'm more of an anime fan. Hayate just seems to catch my attention. =P

I've been reading manga that's already been fully finished lately so I don't have to wait for releases. I'm currently engrossed in Rave Master and loving every page of it.

I bought the first two volumes of Azumanga Daioh and Claymore GN 10 last night, and I loved them. I'll probably buy & read the rest of those series when I get paid, even though Claymore has a fiendishly slow update rate.

Other than those, I also bought two Discworld novels (Lords and Ladies, Interesting Times) with them. Not manga, but they were both excellent nevertheless :)

Currently reading Demon Diary (Korean graphic novels). It's a cute story.

Also prowling the internet for Wild Ones (Arakure in Japanese) scanlations as I've only gotten to chapter 9 thus far. Not sure if it's progressed farther yet.

Caught up with Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles this weekend; I love anything and everything by CLAMP.

Also read through Ayashi no Ceres (Ceres: Celestial Legend). Much <3 to Yuu Watase.

I'll stop rambling now.

Maritan - This counts, right? Lmao.
Gunslinger Girl - I hate Petrushka, wtf. My favourite girl better not die, either.
Hayate no Gotoku
Narutaru - I'm slow and have barely started this weeks ago, but hearing stuff from the anime makes me not want to really read it now.
My Balls
Yotsubato
Ichigo Mashimaro - If new things come out after the fifth volume....
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Tatarigoroshi-hen and Watanagashi-hen - Because I want to read the actual sound novels, but I'm lazy and so are the groups.
Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS THE COMICS - One more chapter to be released, go group doing it, go!
NHK ni Youkoso - Someone said that the three formats this series is in, manga, light novel, and anime, are slightly different enough that if you're a fan, you should read them.
Umineko no Naku Koro ni - Episode 1: Legend of the Golden Witch - GO SEATCATS GO and find that scan of the fourth chapter.
Spice and Wolf

I'm supposed to read Air Gear, FMA, and Claymore. I think. I'm waaaaay too lazy when it comes to manga now.

I like novels, too. I want to read NHK ni Youkoso, maybe Shakugan no Shana, Wagaya no Oinari-sama, Allison to Lillia, Kyouran Kazoku Nikki, Spice and Wolf, MariMite, reading Umineko no Naku Koro ni and freaking out at noises, and some Mai-Hime Destiny and screw that upcoming Mai-Hime project that's coming out in light novel form.

Re-reading Slut Girl by Isutoshi >D...

<_<

Anyone read Mirrai Nikki? <3 Yuno. Now there is some good yandere.

The series that I'm currently reading that I hang on edge for releases of are
Ai Kora
Boku no Hatsukoi wo Kimi ni Sasagu
Mahou Sensei Negima!
Mirrai Nikki
Watashitachi no Tamura-kun
Hayate no Gotoku!
Pastel (It's been ages... T_T)

And then there's a bunch of other series that scanlators seem to have forgotten about/dropped/on hiatus like
My Lovely Gost KANA (waiting on tankobon raws)
Bitter Virgin (as above)
Cherry (Animewaves is in recession T_T)
Maybe Pastel should be down here instead =/

Necroposting to give manga a little presence...
As for now I'm re-reading I''s, video girl ai and midori no hibi...

And waiting more Gantz tankoubons , welcome to the NHK, ichigo %100, blood+ and baking ja-pan!

Btw, I'm not the only one with the feeling that something ain't right with NHK's creators minds, am I?

JoeTang

NHK's writer was probably tripping balls or something. Great read though. I hated Video Girl Ai. I also hated Ichigo 100%'s ending. Don't think I've heard more than 5 people who did like it though. I'm about to read Blood+ too.

Oh!Great can't write his way out of a wet paper bag, to the poster above you from five and a half months ago.

I am currently reading:
-One Piece
-Bleach (though it's been slowly feeling like it's been gnawing on my left knee and chapters are becoming painfully dull to read)
-Naruto (I was almost about to give up on this series when Masashi Kishimoto finally redeemed the series for me in the most recent chapter)
-Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles
-Fullmetal Alchemist

Finished Elfen Lied over the holiday break, and I was pretty darn impressed.

Rosario+Vampire is overrated.
I like Kimi no Iru Machi. I just really hope he doesn't fuck it up like he did Suzuka. That was the most depressing drop in story quality ever.
I think Bakuman is really good though. Great comedy.

Rosario+Vampire is overrated.

After watching the first season (which made me want to shoot every person in the damn show), the only reason I see why people would like it is for the main female cast (panties make people happy).

JoeTang
2009-01-14, 12:57 AM
The only reason is for pantsu. And with the horrible censorship in Season 2... First they had those little bats cover every pantsu. Then they REDREW THE SKIRTS ON THE UNIFORMS. THEY WENT PAST THEIR KNEES!

Anyways, Rosario+Vampire II's plot seems to be struggling horribly.

You should read Kurokami if you want something good.
Oh, and Change 123 is fucking awesome. New chapter just came out too.

*Shameless bump for Manga.*

I read Hatsukoi Limited today. It was much better than I thought it would be, the still ending feels like something is missing but it is good enough.

Going to catch up on Pastel since the last time I read it, I stopped at chapter 90.

I also plan to start Suzuka and Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou soon.

Suzuka is going to make you be disappoint. Hatsukoi Limited was alright. I followed it while it was serialized. In my opinion, I think Kawashita Mizuki doesn't know how to end a manga well. I've read most of her work, and I don't think I enjoyed any of the endings.

Seo Kouji is a great mangaka, but Suzuka's ending is disappointing. Like, the last 30 chapters were going in an unfavourable direction, although it was a more realistic sense to the story. I guess maybe that's why people don't like it as much.
Speaking of Seo Kouji, read Half & Half (http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=36231).

I've heard a lot of good things about Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou but I haven't read it yet =/

Two series I'm following are Liar Game and Until Death Do Us Part. Thanks to whoever (I think it was CoB) started the Liar Game thread here for helping me find the Liar Game. And Until Death Do Us Part is about a blind swordmaster with a high tech sword and a girl who can see the future.

I've only read Ichigo 100% and Hatsukoi Limited but yeah, the mangas as a whole are good (or decent at least) but they could be much better.

As for Suzuka, now I have something to look forward to -___-. I'm downloading Half & Half right now.

Have any other romance mangas that you would recommend?

Very grateful for it, too!

And what the hell. I've never posted in this thread? I rarely follow any manga regularly. I hate the sporadic or TOO LONG updates. GAH. I guess I follow Mysterious Girlfriend X and Deadman Wonderland closer. I really like those right now. For the most part, I find a completed manga or one with a crapton of chapters out and read it all at once. If it's ongoing, I'll check back in a few months for new chapters. One of my all-time favorite completed manga is Parasyte.

The very slowly released Berserk
HSD Kenichi <<< Good stuff when you read it from the start. Not so good once you read it once a week (releases)
Gantz
Deadman Wonderland
Tenjou Tenge
Started Ikkitousen but got bored :S
And that wierd ninja manga with one guy being a blade with a torso and a head...Basilisk

As you can probably tell I'm into shounen and slightly mindpineappling manga :f6:
