As you might surmise from the title, this thread is for discussion on any anime that is currently airing, doesn't matter if it's a show like One Piece or something more recent like Soul Eater or Code Geass R2.

Just use common sense in the thread, if you talk about a episode that was recently released, use the spoiler tags as a courtesy to the other members. Don't derail from the thread... etc etc.

The only anime I'm watching that is airing at the time of this post is Kyouran Kazoku Nikki.

Other than that, I'm just rewatching old stuff (Air, Kanon, Shana, Hayate, H20 etc). They're just so awesome I have to watch them multiple times =P

Rant of the hour: it has so many characters that are so easy to hate, especially as of today's episode... V.V. is pure Smug Snake, Suzaku is flip-flopping like a politician (sure, so it's a deconstruction of the tropes he embodies, but still), and Rolo is failing at dying >:( (spoilers just in case, lol)

Other than that show, I'm not keeping up with any currently-airing anime at the moment. Rewatching/reading stuff - Azumanga Daioh, Nanoha, Fate/Stay Night, Kanon, Full Moon o Sagashite, etc.

Actually, I find it much easier to keep up with a Fansub group as they do it, especially if they're doing one already licensed. I torrent though, so I dont know about streaming.

I'd have to agree. I try to find them as they go on, due to the fact it's easier to find the torrents if the series is licenced or going to be licensed when your searching for it in the future. Afterwards, it can be deleted from the site and you have to find somewhere else to get the torrent.

I know most streaming places also get rid of licensed anime, but I can't verify that.

I just prefer to torrent the anime as soon as it gets released. However, I like watching them all at once, instead of every week. Hence why I'm watching them all over again. It may not be the same impact since I know what is going to happen (In the BIG picture), but it's fun seeing the little stuff I forgot =P

That's another thing I hate about watching a series after airing. There aren't as many seeds.

The spoiler thing is strange though. I wonder why it would block them.

Right now I'm re-watching R.O.D, but after that I'm going to get started on Crystal Blaze (finished airing last month but Hitode-subs is only up to 10 out of 12) and Chocolate Underground (episodes are like five minutes long. lol). after I catch up on those two, I've got Mai-Hime / Mai-Otome and Princess Princess ready to watch while I wait for releases.

As for other currently airing anime, I find it hard to find a good current anime that I can watch, like, and want to wait for releases. I definetly prefer watching full seasons at once rather than waiting weeks at a time for each episode, but I will do it for an anime that i really like. Last anime I recall doing that for were Ouran (who didn't like this anime?), A ridiculous but funny and cute anime called Chocotto Sister, and a bit of Powerpuff Girls Z (the great horribleness of this anime got old after about 10 eps of insanly horrible .... everything.) I just find it hard to find good anime that I like, and so far, after searching through the current anime line-up, I've found very few that sounded interesting to me.

Edit: Where did you read Chocolate Underground's plot summary at? There's nothing at ANN or Wiki, and after those two I either read about them at their subber's site, or else nowhere at all, and DATS has nothing on them either. -_- I only downloaded it because the artwork looks really good, and at 5 minutes per eps, I'm not wasting much time if it turns out to be a bad anime. lol

Kaiba... really makes you think. It's both odd and really entertaining as well. I'd recommend it.

I was using that but, it happens with IE also. I disabled NoScript to test it and nothing changed. It's odd. o-o;

Soul Eater is amazing. It's a 52 episode series, so it'll be going on till about next Spring or so. It's by the same animation company as Eureka seveN and Full Metal Alchemist - BONES. I recommend it. Good mix of humor and action, sorta a typical Shounen anime.

Yes, VK is Vampire Knight. Its an anime about vampire/human interaction at an academy and how the vampires try to keep their identies secret and the interactions of this "human girl" (though plot twists take that away) and this vampire "prince" (well, prince like, so to say)

Certainly an... interesting anime. Tons of panty shots... lolis... magical girls... guns... Characters are fairly varied, animation is nice. The plot seems to be unique, set in an alternate WWII era. Did I mention the amount of fanservice? <_<

I just finished watching The Tower of Druaga -the aegis of URUK-. It's a very entertaining anime despite it being based off of an old video game.

Mai-Otome sucks compared to Mai-Hime in my opinion. The S.ifr 0 OVA seems more interesting and well done than Otome + Zwei OVA, even though Kajiura Yuki isn't doing the score because she's too busy with Kara no Kyoukai or something.

World Destruction 1 & 2:

Well, the lead character certainly has interesting motives, unique in that aspect. Animation is decent. Don't really understand what the purpose of all the freakin sand is. No blood from fighting scenes apparently, a bit of a let down. Fighting in general isn't all that interesting in this anime so far. Lots of little animals make me lol, especially @

Toppi is epic win, reminds me of Detective Kun-Kun from Rozen Maiden.

Yeah, I tried watching Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu Nakoto ~Natsu no Sora~ and that background thing kept ticking me off. Was boring. Maybe it'll get more interesting, but I don't really care that much. I'd rather read it. I did enjoy the opening song though.

Length of episodes is a bit disappointing. I love the tongue-in-cheek mocking of politics though. Some of the animation strikes me as a bit odd. Novel idea overall, wondering how they'll finish this up in only 13 episodes.

Tetsuwan Birdy Decode:
Gratuitous amounts of fanservice at first. The animation really strikes me as well done, but maybe I'm just a fanboy for interesting interspace spaceships. The two leads are interesting, but the male protagonist just comes off as a whiny emo kid. Action is surprisingly fluid, much better than I was expecting as a whole. The whole thing reminds me of MIB, aliens living undercover on our planet...? <_<

Blade of the Immortal:
This shit was confusing. I had no clue what the heck was going on besides tons of violence and random people dying. Way too dark of an ambiance makes viewing it a pain in the ass. How this anime is going to be interesting for fights when the main character is

is beyond me. Art isn't horribly interesting, since EVERYTHING IS SO DARK. I'll probably watch a few more episodes before deciding whether to drop it or not.

Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu 1 +2: First episode was alright, and then they draw out the "olol I saved you from your personal demons in the past by giving you a macguffin" card to enhance the relationship in the second. I seriously dislike it when series do that :(;; and it doesn't make it any better that said macguffin is a manga magazine. Oh, and the female lead cries too much.

Despite that, I'll be intently watching this show. Why? Because I'm a total loser who enjoys watching people fall in love, no matter how contrived it is. :f4:

Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu 4: yay shana cosplay <3! Levels of fanservice and contrived coincidence (... nice bridal shop, mistaking the identity of a customer and ignoring all their protests. Didn't sue them, which was nice) continue to rise. OP growing on me despite risqueness, as is the female lead. Still waiting for somebody else from the school to do something like go out of their little minor-character cubbies and go shopping and notice the lead.

Code Geass R2 17: Hmm, Lelouch is good at controlling his emotions and lying. After the recording is aired, I'm guessing Kallen, Jeremiah, Guilford (if he lives), C.C.? will be his only allies left. Hoping Rolo + Suzaku die next episode to the nuke :)

I don't find Shana or Haruka moe, but that reference was still cute. I think that was my favourite SnS OP song to boot.

It's still sad when my favourite part of the episode was the Ueda Kana joke. I'm kind of hoping there'll be more references to roles other seiyuus have previously voiced, like Shimizu Kaori pulling a Signum.

I don't know what to say about the ending on this one. It was.... well, it's not like I can predict anything that will happen in this show.

I missed the way they told the story through the first half before it turned into the Popo/Neiro/Warp thing by the end. Still, it was a pretty good show.

That last episode with Chi and the mother and hearing her heartbeat made me so sad.

Wow, I found this episode to be really boring, but it's fun seeing more Ginka. At least it's obvious that the guest seiyuu is Yuji from Shakugan no Shana, kind of forget who the cat girl was.

So, Lelouch is freaking out, Suzaku's status as worst character maintained ("live on" geass being responsible for the Freya launch ironic, but nothing else), Kallen is OP, Rolo should die next ep (though I've hoped that for quite a few now) and said next episode's title is horribly straightforward.

I actually felt kinda numb after watching the episode, heh.

Welp, Mom and Pop are out of the way, with some pretty strange motivations (also, lol @ all the metaphysicbabble thrown around). Felt cheated by the timeskip a little bit but it should serve to make the ensuing xanatos gambits more believable with a month of planning, I thought V.V. being the sort-of big ebil guy was odd, and YES spiderman Suzaku + emperor Lelouch, with C.C. being snarky and depressed in the corner. :)

And I can't stop taking this series at least semi-seriously. For srs, the plot has twisted itself in a triple 1080-degree helix backflip and made lots of marketable mecha models while doing so, and I still can't put out more than a giggle when God, basically, gets geassed.

Geass R2 22: Kay. That's cool. Nice hat, nice pillar-house, and I wish atomic weapons worked like that in real life. Really, they'd have so many more applications if they worked the way they do in the Geassverse.
Also, I *loved* Kaguya's expression when desperately avoiding eye contact with Lelouch. So moeeeee - in a semi-disturbing way, admittedly.

Despite the pacing issues getting somewhat better this episode, this is the first episode where my suspension of disbelief has been smushed by a plot twist. Might be repaired in time for the next serving of plot, might not. Only 3 weeks left anyways.

I don't think he's alive. I think it's wone of those lame ending things where another protagonist is talking to the "spirit" of the person who died.

Code Geass R2 - 25: A good ending to a series that had a couple bad plot twists in the end, even though there's a lot of questions left unanswered.

Not from me."Alright, it seems that the last episodewas pretty complex and out of most of the people I've talked to, a lot of people don't seems to get it. I'm going to tie up all the lose ends with this post.

The Code is the power of immortality, which C.C. has. The 98th Emperor of Britannia, Charles, has the Code. He transferred the Code to Lelouch while strangling him in episode 21. Lelouch wanted this, and he deliberately told Suzaku to not interfere.

However, the Code does not activate unless receiver dies first. This is shown when the nun kills C.C. after transferring the Code to her. Charle’s Code activated when he shot himself. Here is one of the big misconceptions that most people have: The transfer of the Code does not involve death of the transferrer. The nun was crazy and killed herself after she transferred her code. VV was injured from the battle and died. So basically, after episode 21, Lelouch had Charle’s Code (inactivated) and C.C’s contracted Geass.

When Lelouch got stabbed by Zero/Suzaku at the end, his Code was activated. What supports this is that Nunnally got Lelouch's memories when she touched her, just like Lelouch did when he touched C.C. back in Narita. The only way this could have happened is his Code activating. This pretty much confirms that he has the Code.

Unlike C.C., and Charles, who lost their Geasses because the people who contracted them died, Lelouch didn’t obtain C.C.’s Code and thus kept his Geass, while having the Code (which he obtained from Charles at the same time). Lelouch therefore has achieved CODE GEASS.

Basically, Lelouch is the person driving the cart in the last scene. He, who is now immortal, travels the brand new world he has created together with the also immortal C.C. C.C. talks to Lelouch in the end by saying: "Geass is the power of kings, it will isolate you... well, I guess thats a little wrong... eh, Lelouch?"

Now comes the second big misconception. A lot of people say C.C. was just talking to the dead like with Marianne, that's not true. She could only talk to her because of the nature of her Geass which allowed her to implant herself into the "hearts" of others. That's how she was able to talk with Marianne. Lelouch's Geass was entirely different, meaning that she could only have spoken to him if he was there. Also, the fact that the cart driver is masking his features completely supports this fact, considering the fact that Lelouch is now considered dead."

Yeah, after I first saw that guy's explanation of Code Geass, I realized Lelouch really is still alive. Everything in the entire series makes so much more sense with what he described. I wish I had understood it earlier.

I picked up Kannagi tonight, and it is absolutely amazing. Being a cat lover, though, I almost cried during one scene. ;_; It's hilarious and serious and all-around great.

So that makes four series I'll be following this season. Gundam 00 S2, Chaos;Head, ToraDora and Kannagi. A very beautiful selection this season. <3

Kannagi is good and did a great job of mixing of humor into the story. I'm certainly going to continue this series. After watching this and Toradora, though, I really envy the male leads because they're high school guys and they already know how to cook well and take care of the whole house.

Chaos;head is weird but I'll try a couple more episodes to see if I like it. I don't really like gore but the plot might prove to be interesting.

I really like Soul Eater, similar to reasons for Kannagi in its nice mix of humor. Crona's (I thought Crona was female from the start but sometimes I have my doubts) a cool character and so is Ragnarok, but their fights are not that great.

Thought it was pretty bold killing what seemed to be the main characters all in the first episode. Really catching story so far. Quite bloody too. It's a shame my monitor is too dark to see most of it. Interested in how this will tie in with the continuity of the manga, seeing as how Kagura doesn't use a sword in that (anymore, so it would seem). This seems to be a prequel to the actual events of the manga. Reading that right now, pretty fun time so far. Does raise a lot of questions for how the two are related, if at all.

Quite enjoyed the creativity with the combat using the motorcycle.

I'm a little sad about ChäoS;HEAd and Akane-iro. They're kind of boring to me. Boring as in I'm having more fun watching Rosario to Vampire Capu2 so far.

Toradora 6- Good. I don't really like the new girl much, nor the guy with glasses (can't remember their names..strange), but Taiga and Minorin (much improved from her intro episode) makes up for it.

Chaos;head 5- I finally learned a little bit about what's going on. It's still really hard to tell delusion from reality though. It's confusing but just interesting enough for me to keep watching. I really like the ending theme (maybe it's meant to cheer you up after the odd show).

Chaos;Head may be a visual novel, but it feels much more like sounds are its strong point at times. The music is very tense and creepy during several scenes, and it really creates an eerie feeling and amplifies the moment greatly. The visuals are absolutely amazing, but the sounds were definitely on the same level. Not only is there incredible music, the gore/murder sound effects are insane. Especially when...

Hazuki is carving her unborn fetus out of herself.

And many other very graphic times. :X

GAH. Just don't be lazy and stubborn and READ IT.

Kannagi 6: Hilarious episode. It's strange how I knew a lot of the stuff mentioned in this episode because I recently started watching NHK. This is one of the few times when I want the male lead to be with his childhood friend. It's a shame how Tsugumi is so neglected, even if she got more screen time this episode.

Soul Eater 31: I think Medusa became 10x as awesome after she came back. The new OP is pretty good, but I'm not sure if I like the way English is incorporated into the song, or the amount of it. Crona's clothes in this episode make a strong case for her being a guy. Did they really want to make it so ambiguous?

Yes it is that much better. The anime has already butchered the story, and it's only gonna get worse. Everything I'm going to say from this point on is about the visual novel, so read at your own risk:

I'll admit Yua's first arc is pretty annoying/boring, though it has some extremely creepy parts (srs gave me the heebie jeebies when she talks in her psycho tone and repeats things tons of times in different phrases *shudders*) and amusing parts. However, Yua's second arc makes her a much more likeable character. She teams up with Ban and Momo and helps them investigate. They let her in on their discovery about GE rates, and that Takumi couldn't have been the New Gen killer, like she suspected. She ends up feeling very remorseful towards Takumi because she truly does like him. Yua and Takumi's final discussion fixes the craziness she caused him earlier. They end on good terms, and she becomes an essential character to the ending (she is one of the giga-lo-maniacs, afterall).


For those of you who enjoy Chaos;Head (and don't mind being spoiled) and want to know the true story/what's really going on, I'll explain some of the most important things:


I'll reveal some mysterious characters' true identities/motives:

Shogun: Shogun is the real Takumi. When he was young (10-ish, I think), Takumi's condition began to worsen rapidly to the point where he had to live in a hospital. He has the special ability to bring delusions he creates to reality (called "real-booting"). He's the strongest giga-lo-maniac* in existence. He's the only one that can real-boot delusions without the use of a Di-Sword. He has extremely strong power over delusions. Realizing the danger the world is in (which I'll talk about in a bit), the real Takumi used his immense power to real-boot one last delusion: an alternate version of himself. This real-booted delusion becomes the Takumi that is the main character. Since the real Takumi's powers are so immense, he was able to create this new Takumi as a giga-lo-maniac himself. That is why the main Takumi can see delusions and Di-Swords.

However, by creating this new Takumi, he lessened his life span even farther. Every time the main Takumi creates a delusion, it hurts the real Takumi and shortens his life. If the main Takumi were to obtain his Di-Sword (referred to as "awakening"), it would probably kill the real Takumi due to the immense power. The real Takumi wants his alternate self to awaken, so that he is powerful enough to stop what is about to happen. Rimi, though, does not want him to awaken because she cares for the real Takumi a great deal (not gonna bother explaining why, unless someone is curious). In the end, Rimi goes off to try and stop what is going to happen (again, I'll explain in a bit) by herself, so that the main Takumi doesn't need to awaken. She is unable to, though... Long story short, the main Takumi obtains his Di-Sword (which is EPIC) and realizes what he must do.

* Giga-lo-maniacs are people that have power over delusions (see and create them). They can see them even when they haven't been real-booted. Giga-lo-maniacs always end up obtaining a Di-Sword when they have to endure an extremely tragic event or prolonged torture/stress. It's only obtained once the giga-lo-maniac truly needs it. Once they have it, they can real-boot it whenever they want to use in reality (though they often choose to just leave it in delusion form). It becomes their strongest ability and their literal savior.

Hazuki: AKA = DEMON NURSE FROM HELL. She's the true New Gen murderer. Yeah, I'm frickin' serious. She carved her OWN unborn fetus from her womb and sewed it into that STILL living man. Holy frick that was disgusting, especially with the all-too-real sound effects. DANG. She is freakin' psycho. She committed the murders herself. She SCOUPED the BRAINS out of that doctor with a SPOON. I am not kidding. LOL I was like, ......SWEET MERCY! :O!!!!

Oh, and here's the best part: You know Takumi's online friend (that he chats with in IRC and plays Ensue with), Grim? Guess what? THAT'S HAZUKI! Ever wonder why Grim always knows about the New Gen murders like right after they happen? Ever wonder why he always has access to the links before others? CAUSE GRIM IS HAZUKI, AND SHE'S THE ONE COMMITTING THE MURDERS. I nearly crapped myself. If you were paying very close attention in the first chapter, they even foreshadow this. Grim says, "Yeah, the murders have all been happening in your neighborhood. lol" The thing is, Takumi's never told Grim where he lives. Takumi didn't even realize it until later, though. LOL Frickin' craziness.

You'll be happy to know Hazuki ends up gouging her own throat out when Takumi uses his mental powers to reveal to everyone her memories and thoughts of the murders. <3

Suwa: AKA = DEMON DETECTIVE FROM HELL. LOL. I never saw this coming, not from a mile away. DANG. Suwa is secretly working for NOZOMI and ends up revealing his true nature at the end. He shoots Ban to death (;_; ;_; ;_; ;_;), shoots and kills Sena's father and uses those same cross daggers (as seen in New Gen murder #3) to pin Takumi to the wall (BEST SCENE EVER). However, when he's just about to kill Takumi, Takumi uses his powers again to switch their bodies. Suwa ends up being the one with all the daggers in him. LOL He bleeds to death pinned to the wall. EPIC.

I CAN NEVER LOOK AT SUWA THE SAME. Everytime he smiles in the anime, I picture his EVIL smirk in the VN. ;_; ;_;

Norose: President of NOZOMI corp. AKA = the true villain of the series. Guess what? He also happens to be one of the strongest giga-lo-maniacs ever! HECK YES. His Di-Sword is a massive scissor-like cross blade (he crucifies Nanami and Rimi on it, even). Norose is using the NOZOMI corp to develop his ultimate machine, the NOAH II. It's a machine that basically has the power of God. He created it by using several "code" samples from giga-lo-maniacs, including Rimi, Yua and Ayase. To make it perfect, he needs a "code" sample from Takumi.

The first time he tested it, the 1st Melt occurred (the small earthquake that killed 8 people before the beginning of the series; it's only mentioned a few times). He tests it again later, causing the 2nd Melt. The 2nd Melt was a much larger earthquake that destroyed all electronic things (wipes all info from all computers in Shibuya) and kills over 300 people. At the end of Chapter 9, he uses it one last time in its near-perfect state and triggers the 3rd Melt. The 3rd Melt was the largest earthquake they have ever experienced. It destroys almost all of Shibuya and kills near 10,000 people (seriously). The NOAH II, if it were to reach its perfect state, would be able to control every single person on the world and rewrite what they see, feel, hear, etc. to anything Norose desires. He'd essentially become God.

The final fight between Norose and Takumi (epic beyond words) takes place in front of the NOAH II and is very, VERY bloody and full of delusions (the NOAH II creates them to defend itself like crazy). Norose is the only one who has control over it. He's raping Takumi silly until Takumi uses Norose himself to destroy the NOAH II (literally throws him into it lol). In the BAD end of Chaos;Head, the NOAH II's destruction causes the complete and total annihilation of everything, leaving only Takumi and Rimi. The BAD end ends with Rimi using her Di-Sword to kill Takumi. :x


Okay, so, I didn't even get close to explaining everything this incredible series has to offer. I merely gave most of the meaty chunks of deliciousness to get you insanely curious. :D I'd be happy to explain anything anyone wants, so feel free to ask for moar or explanations of parts. This is a CG from the scene where Sena tried killing Takumi, once she realizes he's the one behind the beginning of all this tragedy (he really is, btw). Rimi reveals her Di-Sword for the first time and defends Takumi. Sadly there isn't really any good CG of Rimi's dual Di-Swords, but they are like two circular handles (one in each hand) with wing-like blades on them.

This CG is from the scene where Yua finally obtains her Di-Sword. Norose sent a porter equipped with a portable NOAH device and created the delusion of her dead twin sister trying to kill her. Yua overcame it and kills the porter with her Di-Sword. Again, there is very little CG of Yua's Di-Sword, but it's a very long black, almost scythe-like blade with an intricate handle.

And keep in mind I've only been sharing the CGs from the game. :x Most of the imagery takes place above the text, as the story is going on. The music + sound effects for this game are definitely not for the weak of heart. They are highly graphic and very realistic.


I'm not kidding. I'm talking scenes as gruesome as a mother (Sena's mother) eating her rotting fetus. A mother (Hazuki) gouging her unborn fetus from her very womb. Five people jumping from a building and exploding into a mass of blood and gore so thick, you can't tell them apart. Etc, etc...


Yeah, the anime has done MASSIVE butchering already. They mainly highlight only the biggest stuff. They shave off a LOT of explanation, backstory, character building and entire events altogether. And worse than that, they've already changed a few things, too. Another bad thing is that the anime only shows either the good or the bad delusion (and often skips over those scenes completely). The only way you get to see all the good + bad delusions Takumi has is to play the VN through twice.

It is very long, think of it as no different than reading a very long novel. It took me about 15 hours, and I'm a pretty fast and well-practiced reader, to read through it once. It's gonna take you around 30 if you want to read through it twice (which I highly recommend), so that you can see all the differences between the good and bad delusions, plus the different endings.

The official patch isn't done yet, but the anti-fail beta patch is more than good enough. It only doesn't translate a few lines in a couple scenes and has very few glitches.

The anime is much more confusing than the story actually is because they've been shaving off like almost all the back story and supplemental story. It's pathetic, really.

Ayase's been going through a really hard time. Her life has been messed up since she was born. She used to be enslaved by NOZOMI and they ran lots of experiments on her. They're the reason she has her Di-Sword, and she's one of the first code samples of a Giga-lo-maniac they obtained (for their Noah device). The people at @chan discovered she used to be mental patient (that mental hospital was just a cover NOZOMI used) and Phantasm really took a blow because of that. The police have been after and suspecting Ayase of being the New-Gen murderer because of her songs' lyrics.

And now she is starting to doubt the prophecy she's always believed in is even going to come true. With the accumulation of all these events, she decides she'd rather escape from it all than endure what she fears is going to happen. However, Takumi real-booted his delusion of her falling into a flowerbed and saved her life (the anime did a horrible job at showing this). As long as the anime doesn't cut it out, you should find out more about Ayase when she's in the hospital. A lot of very intense and informational events occur while she's hospitalized.

NOZOMI has been extracting code samples from the brainwaves of giga-lo-maniacs (Rimi, Ayase, Yui...) and using them to develop a machine that uses those powers.

By creating a device like this, their goal is create a new "reality" for Japan and eventually the world. With Noah II, they'll be able to control what everyone hears, feels, tastes, smells and even sees. Essentially, they can rewrite the world's five senses and become God themselves. They can control anything they want.

I figure they made that scene because they plan on taking out a scene which should be coming up. Something happens between Shogun and Takumi that gets him national attention. After that, everyone mocks him and picks on him. The anime is changing the story big time now, so I doubt they are even going to have that. Sadly, the anime doesn't even focus much on the events of Shogun and New-Gen cases. The anime is trying to make it all about NOZOMI as quickly as possible, which is terribly hurting the story.

Shibuya itself has a naturally high GE (gravitational error) rate which causes people to act on their emotions or desires much more greatly. It's why so many young people are drawn to Shibuya seeking fun or happiness. NOZOMI has been manipulating and raising the GE rates to accomplish their goals. Noah itself greatly spikes these rates, causing people to act irrationally.

That's honestly a good question. It's never explicitly revealed who did it, and at first I thought it was Shogun. However, when it's later revealed that

Suwa

is an insane psychopath that's been corrupted by NOZOMI, I thought it might have been him. So I'm torn between those two. I still feel it makes the most sense that it was Shogun (since his goal from the beginning has been to get Takumi to awaken), but at the same time I find that unlikely because Shogun wouldn't have risked going out in public like that. I decided it was the guy in the spoiler, but I'm not sure of his reasons other than to have fun. Perhaps the anime will explain it in a way that fits their own story best.

Also, from what I can tell, it wasn't Shogun who causes Takumi to experience national attention (Assuming you're talking about the scene where he goes up to the roof and is forced to find his D-Sword, fails, and runs away). I assume it was Suwa who did that because of the Mask, and how he was able to escape through the barrage of reporters. Also, Shogun tells Takumi "I don't do cosplay". Also, I doubt Shogun would've cut his own sister's hand off.

Now, after finishing the VN getting almost all of the CG, I really wish the anime would've stuck to the VN more. I found myself actually understanding everything that wasn't explained in the anime, and I really think that they should've stuck to the VN, even if it required more episodes.

Yes, but that's confusing to me. I assumed it was Suwa, too, due to the Darth Spider (or w/e haha) mask and his obsession with that franchise (as he says and proves later when that helmet is present again during when he murders Ban). But then that led me to wonder a lot of things. Is it truly Suwa doing those things related to Takumi or is it Shogun manipulating him? The things Suwa does only help accomplish Shogun's goals, as he states and apologizes later for (saying he just wanted to make Takumi awaken). And if it wasn't Shogun, then really how much did Shogun do to provoke Takumi? Not much. I'd like to hear your opinions on that matter.

And yeah, that's a given. The anime is terrible compared to the VN. I'm playing through Chapter 6 again right now to check what else they cut out from this episode. I TOTALLY forgot and didn't even notice that they cut out one of my very favorite scenes!!!

If you remember that scene, you know what I'm talking about. Was it not insanely creepy and intense? LOL OMG I'm still haunted by that ringtone and thinking, Oh...OH NO TAKUMI! Then when he was like, "The box is heavy..." I was like, OH CRAP IT'S HER HAND!!! Seriously screwed up.

It really makes me wonder where the anime is going, especially with the preview showing that Norose is going to be using his Di-Sword already in ep8.

k so finished chapter 6 another time. I paid very close attention to every detail of the rooftop incident, and it brings up some questions:

It would be very strange if that was Shogun. Shogun would know Takumi has the same powers as he does. The way he seems curious makes it definitely seem like it's Suwa. I think I neglected Suwa far too much in my reads through the story. He seemed more like a puppet to me than anything. I'm confused, though.

How does Suwa know of Shogun? And how does Suwa know Shogun is in a wheelchair?

How closely together are Hazuki and Suwa working? I know they're both working for NOZOMI in some way, but I still don't get some things. Hazuki is the New-Gen murderer, but isn't Suwa responsible for some of the murders, as well? Since Hazuki is actually Takumi's friend "Grim" she could have known about Shogun, but that still doesn't explain how they know he's in a wheelchair. Did I miss something where Hazuki could have known this and told Suwa?

I think as I read through the story, I just got an assumption in my mind and accepted that. But now the more I think about things, the more I can see them going different ways. I would REALLY like to know more about Suwa and all his true intentions. I think he's the most mysterious character in the entire series.

I assumed it was Suwa, too, due to the Darth Spider (or w/e haha) mask and his obsession with that franchise (as he says and proves later when that helmet is present again during when he murders Ban). But then that led me to wonder a lot of things. Is it truly Suwa doing those things related to Takumi or is it Shogun manipulating him? The things Suwa does only help accomplish Shogun's goals, as he states and apologizes later for (saying he just wanted to make Takumi awaken). And if it wasn't Shogun, then really how much did Shogun do to provoke Takumi? Not much. I'd like to hear your opinions on that matter.

And yeah, that's a given. The anime is terrible compared to the VN. I'm playing through Chapter 6 again right now to check what else they cut out from this episode. I TOTALLY forgot and didn't even notice that they cut out one of my very favorite scenes!!!

If you remember that scene, you know what I'm talking about. Was it not insanely creepy and intense? LOL OMG I'm still haunted by that ringtone and thinking, Oh...OH NO TAKUMI! Then when he was like, "The box is heavy..." I was like, OH CRAP IT'S HER HAND!!! Seriously screwed up.

It really makes me wonder where the anime is going, especially with the preview showing that Norose is going to be using his Di-Sword already in ep8.

What....the...hell? They really did cut out that scene! Nanami doesn't come to his house to explain the earthquake, it's supposed to be done by cell! Gah. They get rid of some of the best parts, and add in crap like the digger. By the way, when Takumi's comp was in BSOD, he made much more commotion in the VN than he did in the Anime. I was surprised to hear him, almost in a calm manner, say "I'm finished".

Thoughts about anime and visual novel:

The begining isn't supposed to be about the characters and such. It's really supposed to be about "shogun", and how everything is effecting him. NOZUMI(or whatever) isn't the main plot under AFTER Takumi really understands what's going on. I still love the scene where Takumi get's his Di-Sword. The main theme(off-vocal) plays, and it's just badass. Although that scene was followed by the ever creepy Hazuki scenes. *Shudders*

Felix, I do remember that scene, and damn, I didn't know it would be her hand. It was just, shocking, to see that after he opened his eyes. It made the email make more sense though.

My Suwa theory:
Suwa is part of NOZOMI, and thus, is trying to get Takumi to awaken because they need his awakened form to get his CODE sample. So he used his mask and pretended to be Shogun (Which he apparently knew from NOZOMI, judging from the time in the chat when "Grim"(Hazuki) stated "Hi Lord Shogun" in the chat.") Shogun really didn't do much, but I think it's because he wasn't able to do much. He needed Takumi to awaken, but he couldn't use too much of his power to enable him to awaken or else he would've died. I wasn't too shocked when it was revealed that they were both Takumi, especially when they foreshadow it in the VN (Which I loved, how they had the beat everytime something was revealed. It made me jump on certain occasions.). Although I was relieved when it was shown that Takumi II wouldn't die when the real one did. Although being in a coma for a year, wow.

In the VN, he often calls people delinquents. That's most likely what Dark Rebirth (FAIL) meant by "dqns."

Yes, the anime makes them transparent-like, even though they aren't supposed to be. The anime does that to let you know they are in delusion form. When a delusion is real-booted, it's reality. It truly exists and everyone can see it, feel it, w/e. Giga-lo-maniacs can see delusions even before they've been real-booted, so yes.

Di-Swords are simply a shortcut for Giga-lo-maniacs to real-boot or create "errors" as Sena calls them; a method to achieve that -1. Takumi's powers are much greater than that, and you'll find out why later (assuming you haven't been reading all of our delicious spoilers).

Group Dive: I still don't understand a lot about how this one happened. I wish I knew what went on up there. It involves Yui's twin sister, so the connection there is obvious. And the wheelchair tie-in obviously relates to driving Takumi to the edge. But still it's kinda random feeling...

Pregnant Man: I don't see how this one affects Takumi, besides the gross factor. Perhaps it was just to show THAT HAZUKI IS FRICKIN' INSANE. Lol ;_;

Staking: The one is also sort of confusing. It's pretty obvious Suwa did this one, right? Or was it Hazuki because she had that drawing of it? I still don't know. Suwa's trademark is those cross daggers, but Hazuki knew more about this murder. Help! And of course Takumi deluded seeing Rimi doing it... The effect it had on him was obvious, as it was the first murder that directly dragged him into the plan.

At the last second, Shogun began watching, and said a phrase, which caused one of the divers, to suddenly say "Whose eyes are those eyes". The video, also created by Suwa, was made by NOZOMI technology. However, he couldn't recall the backdrop of the rooftop. So he used an image to make it more realistic. Little did he know that the image was 5 years ago, when the tower was still being built. Which is why Ban was a threat.

Well, I had a bit of free time today, and managed to finish chapter 3 of Chaos;Head. I must say that Shogun looks a lot creepier than the one in the anime. The anime one just looks like a regular old guy, although you still don't want to be near him. Not to mention, the features in the VN like his voice and figure is much better foreshadowing. It was a long chapter though.

I picked up Kurosh'itsuji a few days ago and now I'm all caught up. Glad I picked it up! Sebastian is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters of all time. *_* Let's review:

1) He's a demon.
2) He's a butler.
3) He's insanely awesome.
4) HE LOVES CATS.

Gosh DANG! Best character of the season, at least. I can't wait for this series to develop more. I love its dark aspect, and I wish it'd focus on it more rather than all the humor (though it's funny sometimes).

Kurosh'itsuji ep8: I'm not sure how I feel about this new demon dog character, but we'll see. And find some clothes. ;_;
The conversation between Sebastian and Angela at the very end was some serious foreshadowing. There's much more to Angela than meets the eye.

I just finished it last night, and ya the anime couldn ever come close to it. I also got the prologue :f4:

I don't understand why Rimi still wanted to kill Taku after the battle. I know the reason she didn't want him to awaken was because it would take away from Shogun's life, but since Shogun was already going to die/was dead, I don't see any reason for her still killing Taku.

Toradora 9: I think they pulled off the serious Kushieda really well this episode. And did she reject him? Anyway, Taiga continues to provide more lol's and hints of her preference. Kitamura is just weird...even more so than Kushieda.

Soul Eater 34: Anonymous is probably Tadashi. Anyway, this was a nice episode following the odd way of finalizing the team concept in the last episode. Mifune totally owned Sid + Azusa together. Sid is such an odd zombie. Lol @ Kim rejecting Ox. I don't recall seeing her before the last episode, but her character design seems familiar. Then again, most characters do. Maka's earmuffs look so cool on her..

Chaos;Head ep8: LOL Official story change GOOOOO!!! And yay for MOAR Dark-Rebirth FAILsubs and QUALITY from Madhouse. Oh lawds.

The fight between Norose wasn't bad, though, with the decent music playing during parts of it. Still, WTH? Let's get rid of one of the best parts about Shogun and instead make up a fight scene that doesn't even happen!!!! YES, this will be BRILLIANT!

I'm actually glad there's only 4 episodes left (it's 12 episodes, you know). Let this torture end!

Gundam 00 S2 ep9: ALI AL SAACHEZ! HECK YES YOU ARE AWESOME. So let's review:

1) Ali kicking Gundam butt, as usual
2) Graham about to get UPGRADED
3) Revive flaunting his stuff in the Gadessa, wat
4) Flashbacks to childhood days, revealing young Sumeragi
5) Setsuna about to get UPGRADED

Chaos;Head ep9: At least they're back to the condensed actual story again, rather than completely making stuff up. Oh well. This anime does nothing for me. They're portraying the story in a very watered down way. You don't get near as drawn into the characters, you don't get to experience anywhere near the amount of suffering Takumi really goes through, etc... When they reveal the true motives behind Suwa and Hazuki, it's not even going to be shocking since they've focused very little on their events.
