Who are we?
Symmetric was formed on April 4th 2008 by a group of close friends (most of them are ex-Polaris members) who all have been playing MapleStory for quite some time. There is no particular reason why we picked the name Symmetric. One of us came up with the name and we agreed on it. As an emblem it has white heart, which you can see when you look at our banner.
Age of the guild members varies from fifteen to fifty years. Most of our members live in Europe, while some are from the USA. Guild members can often be found in our headquarters (Channel 19, FM 6). You can also find us training, bossing or PQ’ing together. Currently we have 30 guild slots. We would like Symmetric to remain a small guild (about 50/60 slots max). That reason being that we would rather be more of an exclusive guild in which people get to know each other well. After all, your guild should be like your family! Besides, more slots means usually more drama, which is the last thing we want =p
Our own guild forum is also a part of Symmetric. Therefore, we encourage all of our members to be active not only in game, but also on the forums!
Requirements
- We only accept ranked people. If your character is not on the rankings, then don’t bother applying.
- Our level requirement is level 120 and above. On rare occasions exceptions will be made, but don't count on it.
- If you just want to join for Zakum runs, you’re not welcome. You aren’t allowed to go on our runs the moment you join Symmetric. You’ll have to be in the guild for at least one month before you can run with us. (Note: currently we don’t have a Zakum time slot, but we do plan on organizing more Zakum runs in the near future).
- We do not accept hackers, scammers, guild hoppers, spammers, etc. Your fellow guild members, Junior Masters and Guild Master will check up on you. If any of the above is discovered, measures will be taken.
- Before applying, make sure you have read our guild rules below. If you want to join Symmetric, you'll have to agree to those rules.
Leadership
Guild Master = Firehuntah
Junior Masters = KarameiSutra, Manekato, Samste2003
Guild rules
Below is a list of guild rules which apply to all members of Symmetric, including the (Junior) Master(s).
Violation of these rules could lead to a warning or being expelled from the guild, depending on what has been done.
1. You must always be respectful to every single member, including the (Junior) Master(s), in the guild. We are all in this guild together to have fun, not to hate on each other.
2. Hacking, scamming, KS’ing, racism, flaming, abusing glitches etc. is not allowed. If we find you hacking, you can expect an immediate kick from the guild without any discussion. Also, if we find out you hacked in the past, you'll get expelled as well.
3. Spamming is not allowed. There is no need for it, our members can perfectly see what you're saying in guild chat without repeating it ten times. Don’t use “@@@” behind every word you say. As for the forums, you must use at least five words in order to post.
4. When talking in guild chat, speak in English. This is a language everyone can understand. Speaking in your own language could make people feel left out, since they’re not able join the conversation. In our HQ you don’t have to speak English, although it would be appreciated.
5. Do not get involved in KS wars. It often affects the whole guild and not just you in particular. Defending your own map is allowed, but KS’ing other people will not be accepted. If there is a need to KS, inform a (Junior) Master about it. Remember: there are better ways to solve problems than KS’ing.
6. If you sign up for boss runs, be 100% sure you can actually make it. If you're not sure, then don't sign up, simple as that. It's a pain in the ass for the run organizer to find a replacement, just because you didn't show up. If you don't show up once, you may get off with a warning, The next time you don’t show up, you most likely won't be able to come to any of the runs of that organizer for a while.
7. Leaving Symmetric to go GPQ (Guild Party Quest) with another guild won't be accepted in most cases. We will go GPQ’ing ourselves if our members want to. The (Junior) Master(s) are not planning to keep on re-inviting you to the guild. Only leave the guild if you have the permission from a (Junior) Master.
8. When you leave the guild, you won't be invited back. We don’t care about your reason. If you want to get back into the guild, you'll have to reapply. Keep in mind that it will be more difficult to get re-invited, since you broke one of the guild rules.
9. If you have a problem with a fellow Symmetric member, contact one of the(Junior) Master(s). He/she will do their best to solve the problem. Try to solve small issues yourself, before contacting them though.
10. Be respectful to every single player in the game. We all know some MapleStory players are just assholes. But we don’t want to become like them, so try to behave and stay nice, even though they're not.
11. Sharing your account isn’t recommended, although we can't stop you from doing it. Keep in mind that only you are responsible for what happens to your character. Also remember that these guild rules apply to the person you share your character with as well. If he/she violates the rules on your character, it will be you who gets warned or expelled.
12. Note that the Master makes the final decisions. It doesn’t mean you have nothing to say in the guild. The Master and Junior Masters are willing to listen to your suggestions. Feel free to contact them!
Important: The guild rules can change at any time. If they do, you'll be notified and we expect you to read the new rules.
Why should I join Symmetric?
If you’re looking for fun, a good conversation or just someone to train with, then Symmetric is the right guild for you! The purpose of our guild is making new friends and have a good time while playing MapleStory. We are friendly and we’re not into KS'ing, hacking, scamming etc. We’re looking for respectful and active players. In the near future guild events will be held (Guild Screenshot, Scavenger Hunt, etc). We'll also be doing boss runs soon (Zakum, Pap, Pianus, maybe even Horn Tail in a while). As already mentioned before, we don’t have a Zakum time slot yet. However, we do run and sell helmets every once in a while.
How can I join Symmetric?
Before we invite you to the guild we would like to get to know you a bit. If you are interested in joining Symmetric, you’ll have to fill out an application form. This application form can be found on our forum. You can find the link to our forum below. It is up to the members to decide if you can join the guild or not.
