following the reasons are from KMST's client
Obviously, NX name it "Pink Been"

First reason:Boss map's BGM

Second reason:NPC Recorder's script

His name is "UNCONFIRMED", "UNTRANSLATED" and "STILL IN BETA FUCK YOU". Go figure stuff out that matters and that we might get in the next year or two, not shit that's still in KMST beta that's hardly of any importance.

Don't trust what Koreans say the transliterated name is.

They thought "Night Load" was an appropriate title for a 4th job Thief.

The fact is that the name is Pink -something-, and this -something- is pronounced like this:

\ˈbēn\

The word "been" is not pronounced in this way. The word "bean" is. In addition, the word "being" is also not exactly correct due to the fact that it ends with a 'g' and that sound would be vocalized in his Korean transliterated name.

But folks, really. This is why transliterating a transliteration is a bad idea. Don't take a look at what the Korean thinks the English version of the word they borrowed from English is. Look at the original source.

Finally notice that his shape is not unlike that of a bean.

Seriously, why would you ever believe an incorrect spelling of an English word in a Korean game over logic?

Until an official, properly translated name is released, let's just call it the Pikachu Boss, kay?

So there's still a chance for Pink Pika?!

It's just a matter of opinion. To some people, it may look like a Pikachu, to others, maybe a Wigglytuff. It really doesn't matter. As Shippo said, "As long as you know what we're talking about, its fine."

And I personally like to think it is a Maple-Pikachu. <33

Stop degrading it by calling it pikachu. :(

But Pikachu is a beast. Saying it looks like Pikachu isn't degrading it.

Think about it. In the fifth episode of Pokemon, Pikachu beat the crap out of an Onyx with his electricity. An Onyx. Onyx are immune to electricity because of their rock-ground type, yet Pikachu raped it with electricity. That's pretty bad-ass. Go Pikachu!!!

Well considering that it Leafre used to be Riprey and Horntail was Hontail, we can't say anything is it's official name.

It's Pink Being according to iTunes. iTunes also thinks a Hontale is a Horntail, so I'm not doubting it. iTunes autocorrects bad titles, and it's never been wrong.

I think Pink Bean is a fine name for it. Nexon makes tons of typos with their music files, like "Hontale" (which was already pointed out), "Deep See", "Shining See", etc.

I think all names that have been given to this boss at this point be null and void. From now on, it shall be know as.....

PINK HAMTARO!

Note: Lol. Korea translations can have "Apple pie" converted to "Straight Homo" (No offense anybody)

So yeah, shows what you can trust from Korea Translations.

As a side note: 'It's' in your thread title is spelled 'Its' without the appostrophe.

Are you gonna run around calling the clock boss "Populatus"? That's what the map scripts for it are called.

For that matter I think they call it Bishasu in JMS..

My bro said it looked like Kirby.

I think it looks like a Wigglytuff (http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/5813/wigglytuffcardgc5.jpg) with the horns of a Jr. Boogie. On steroids.

Also, the name might change a lot. Weren't we calling a boss "Doom Flounder" and then all of a sudden it's name changes "Pianus"?

Sometimes I wonder why I try at all...

Try reading again please:

In addition, the word "being" is also not exactly correct due to the fact that it ends with a 'g' and that sound would be vocalized in his Korean transliterated name.

...

Finally notice that his shape is not unlike that of a bean.

It is shaped like a bean and if it were meant to be "being", then the Korean name would have included the "ng" ending of the word instead of the simple "n" ending, even if the Korean "alphabet" can't represent the sound 100% accurately.

ps anyone else go to pinkbean.com yet?

Leafre, in the data, is called Leafre. It was never riprey, that was some fan translation that caught on. Horntail > Hontale is a valid comparison though.

For lack of a better name, I don't see any reason NOT to use the name it's referred to in the data. Pink Been is what I will be using on Strategywiki until we get a proper translation.

Well just out of curiosity, how are you guys pronouncing "been"?

I say it just the same way as bean. I don't know why, but when I first saw it, thats how I pronounced it. Or is everyone else saying it like "benjamin"? Cause to me, Pink Been says the same thing as Pink Bean. So I don't mind what you guys call it, I'll still say the same thing for both.

Because it's an English term written in Korean. If you read it in Korean, it's literally sounds like "Pink-uh Been"

i thought using the word 'been' in the name was a bit of a pun. it could be compared to a bean..but the prequests.. "The road to the past", "Walking on the road of remembrance", etc.

the boss is something that has been..but is no more..? perhaps going back in time and killing it before it starts any trouble is the what this is all about. o_o
