Does anyone know how to fix this? I just got a new computer, and after gameguard loads, it says 'Failed in finding proper screen mode for Gr2D.' By the way the account I am using is an Admin.

Download and install the latest drivers for your graphics card.

Yeah, what he said. I posted the instructions on how to do it in another thread, so yay for copy/paste!

1) Find out what graphics card you have. The tool called DirectX Diagnostic Tool will tell you this.
In Windows XP: Start menu > Run... > dxdiag If a popup comes up, just hit yes.
(For the record, in Vista: Start menu > search > dxdiag)
Click the Display tab. You will find the Device group box there; which should tell you all you need to know about your graphics card.

2) Download the driver setup for it.
ATI: http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html
Nvidia: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Kk thanks. Testing to see if it'll work now xP

Edit: Doesn't work. Downloaded the driver for SiS 315, and it still has the same error. Wish i had my Radeon or GeForce but they both are dead >.> Is SiS compatible with MapleStory?

Gunna get a new GeForce in like 2 months >.<

What my problem was, I had an old service pack. Update to the latest and try again, if possible. :/

Under the Display tab of dxdiag, are the DirectX Features marked as Enabled? If they aren't, then your graphics card driver isn't properly installed.

Yeah, SiS 315 should be compatible with Maple, as it has full hardware DirectX 8 support, and that is what Maple is using. Try installing the latest version of DirectX, just in case. Hell, go to Windows Update and install all the updates, as they might patch some Windows problem that may be interfering in this case (and really, you want to make sure that you always have all the latest Windows updates, for security reasons).

If your graphics driver is properly installed, then the only other thing I can think of at the moment is Setup.exe, which you can find in your MapleStory folder.

Try this

Make a folder to extract it to, and then when it's done extracting, run the dxsetup.exe thing in there

K so, I just found out my Radeon card wasn't burnt out, and I am using it right now. It is a Radeon 7200 Family, but it still gives me the Gr2D error after installing the driver.

Doesn't seem like anythings wrong. Also can you give me a link to windows SP3, as it is not detected for automatic updates. And when I use google, it shows microsoft.com with stuff, but its just like readme's for windows XP SP3

Win XP SP3: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=5b33b5a8-5e76-401f-be08-1e1555d4f3d4&displaylang=en

Although I find it odd that Windows Update doesn't detect it for you. Have you by any chance installed any of the SP3 Beta or Release Candidate builds before? If you have, you must uninstall them before installing this production release SP3.
