Some of mine include:
EIvJh71oEF4
IgImQ2v2NYs
yxdkrzHBt3E
vbUR0SRceD0
Note: Skip a bit into the video for the real part of the song. There is a long prelude to the real song.

Covering Metallica is what this band started out doing, now they have original songs on the radio, like this one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uu9uxGP5nL0).

And as a special treat, 25 Best Covers of The Beatles' "Yesterday" (http://www.redux.com/playlist/25_best_covers_of_the_beatles_yesterday). That one by Johnny cash is amazing. I was never a fan of Nine Inch Nails, but Johnny Cash made that song epic. That is definately one of the best covers.

Disturbed's cover of "Shout" was NOT Van Halen. It was Tears For Fears.
That being said, here's some off the top of my head that I enjoy
* Type O Negative - Cinnamon Girl (Neil Young)
* Type O Negative - Hey Joe (Jimi Hendrix)
* Type O Negative - Highway Star (Deep Purple)
* Inkubus Sukkubus - Paint it Black (Rolling Stones)
* Nonpoint - In the Air Tonight (Phil Collins)
* Korpiklaani - Crimson Rain (Einherjer)
* Emperor - A Fine Day to Die (Bathory)
* HIM - Wicked Game (Chris Isaak)
* Evanescence - Heart-Shaped Box (Nirvana)
* Judas Priest - The Green Manalishi (Fleetwood Mac)
* Cradle of Filth - Devil Woman (Cliff Richard)
