There were several changes to this battle in 1.2.158. Please read the spoilers to see what has changed
PB(W)
- Can now summon 6 mini-beans at a time. His MATK up skill was removed.
PB(S)
- Knockback increased from 70k to 140k

- Knockback increased from 60k to 120k

In this document, I will be making references to several locations and mobs.
Throne Room (TR) = The place where you fight Pink Bean
ML or MR = Middle Left or Middle Right (Hawk statues)
FL or FR = Far Left or Far Right (Scholar statues)
Ariel (C) = The center statue above Pink Bean. I sometimes call it C for center because Ariel is the center statue.
Pink Bean (PB) = Duh, the guy you fight. There are two forms of him that I refer to, PB(W) (Weak) and PB(S) (Strong). I'll go into more detail later.
The nature of this battle is not as it seems in many images shown through Insoya so far. Let's have a look at the image that they showed us:

In the TR, you will face a series of six stages, each with increasing difficulty. Here's the order of battle:
STAGE 1: FL PB(W)
STAGE 2: FL PB(W) FR
STAGE 3: FL ML PB(W) FR
STAGE 4: FL ML PB(W) MR FR
STAGE 5: FL(2) ML(2) C PB(W) MR(2) FR(2)
STAGE 6: PB(S)
The (2)'s in Stage 5 is because they get slight upgrades at this stage. I'll go more over this later.
PB(W) refers to the other form of PB. In this form, you cannot hit him and he cannot hit you. All he does is sit on the throne the entire match, taunts you (hilarious animations too), and buffs up the enemies. PB(S) refers to the form of PB with 2.1B HP and does nasty attacks and has 23k touch damage. After you defeat Stage 5, PB(W) disappears in a puff of smoke and reappears in a flash of light and begins letting all hell break loose on you as PB(S).
So, let's go over this as total HP:
STAGE 1: 300M = 300M HP
STAGE 2: 300M + 300M = 600M HP
STAGE 3: 300M + 450M + 300M = 1.05B
STAGE 4: 300M + 450M + 450M + 300M = 1.5B
STAGE 5: 300M + 450M + 600M + 450M + 300M = 2.1B
STAGE 6: 2.1B = 2.1B
Add all that up...
300M + 600M + 1.05B + 1.5B + 2.1B + 2.1B = 7.65B HP
In the following, I won't be giving out pure animations. There are over 1000 frames to go through and well... I don't have a script to make GIFs like that (if only I did).

After you kill this boss, he does not "die" so to speak. He fizzes out and returns. After he returns, you can't hit him until you've defeated all of the other bosses for that particular stage. On Stage 5, he is slightly different and stronger.

By looking at all of his attacks, I'm noticing that the ranges seem to only affect the people in front of him. It might be a good idea for warriors to aggro him into a corner and for ranged people to slam him from his back side a la Tengu.

From there, you should be able to use a return scroll to get out. There's nobody in this room.
If you do use a return scroll, you'll go to map 270000000 which is called 타임로드 : 시간의 신전 and has a map description of "시간의 여신을 모시는 신전이다. 과거와 현재 그리고 미래의 시간이 공존하고 있다." Here's what 270000000 looks like:

That sounds like some serious boss fight. Though I like the music related to this battle, I don't think that it's enough to keep players fighting this boss for 3+ hours.
Back on topic, 6 stages...interesting. The battle sounds easy in the beginning, while it gets much harder near the middle and end.
I'm curious how this pink thing moves / jumps, if it does.
Actually, I'm curious how 30 players will fit on this map without bumping into the statues.
Can't wait for the animations :3

It doesn't have a speed stat, so I think it's stationary.

I assume that PB(W) isn't the one with the crazy physical attack damage.
If it is...one psycho = death for most.
Edit1: Reread: Whew, he can't hit you.
I messed up on that speed stat in the previous topic. PB(W) is stationary. PB(S) has -50 speed and is fully mobile.
Also, to save me time, I won't be posting animations. I'll just be posting still frames that'll give you the gist.

Just to throw out as a reference, that's the same speed as a blue snail; a bit slower than pap by 10 speed.
So when you're up and battling against the final form, imagine fighting a blue snail...on super steroids.
Sounds simple enough to teleport around or haste-jump over.

14-15k dmg with PG and HB, and actually, you don't usually hit the monster if you rush it. Unless you're on an edge or so

Fiel, is there any significance to you using member instead of enemy at times in his skill descriptions? Or is it just to provide sentence variety?
Maybe the boss will create some use for Power / Armor / Magic crash besides Horntail now, depending on how much the buffs effect the statues.

This is coming out in the same release for 120 weapons, so obviously there's going to be more.
When level 190/200 weapons come out, with a Boss, I can see them release an epic end-game boss.

I'm getting so tired of seeing people whining about this boss. "fomg itz 2 cuuut y cant we hav nothr ht?????????" This boss is crazy, and makes HT look like a joke. Who says end game bosses have to look like they come out of your standard DnD manual? As far as I see it, this boss sees you as a complete joke (and as well it should). Can you name anything more insulting than having someone eat, sleep, read, and do other things while still kicking your ass?
So quit whining about it not being "serious". If you could just walk into people and kill them, you'd think they were a joke too.

What's so bad about a jokey boss? Do we have to have all of our bosses these omnious mini-gods? Obviously when Nexon Korea made this, they were going for a humor boss run, instead of a "Ok, let's do this. *holds down shift* *falls asleep*" boss.
Besides, at this day and age, eight billion HP sounds like a lot, but so did Zakum's 400m-ish, back in the day. Now people are soloing it, and parties can take it out in minutes. After we get more 4th job weapons, Pink Pikachu will still be a strong boss, but it won't be an unbeatable god. At that point, it'll hardly be "hard core".
If you could just walk into people and kill them, you'd think they were a joke too.

Since when has Maple been all about serious graphics and scary stuff? When you first started, how scary was the Lupin at L forest? It did 135 damage on your ass and would kill you yet it was a fucking monkey throwing bananas.
Alishar? I know when I was 35 and did my first LPQ'd I was pretty much holy shit'd by the fact it had huge visible nipples yet still kicked my ass; mainly cause I had no all-cures, but you get the idea.

Point is, Pinky right there is cool. I love it especially because it actually has multiple phases instead of just starting all out and killing off stuff one by one like horntail, it's like pulling out wings of a fly. Starts off fun, but then it gets too easy. ):

They're numbered sequentially. Sometimes, though, an image has a pointer to another image saying, "Use this image instead of a new one in the sequence". It makes the program faster.
Also, all of the images are of variable size. They have to be centered and whatnot with different offsets than are given in the files (requires a mathematical transpose). I know all the math to do this myself, but so far every GIF animation I've ever made from Maple has been made by hand.
My only problem is that all of the GIF animators I know of only allow you to put the offsets into the program and I can't generate them with a script to put them in the program myself. I know Koolk has made an animator. He said he made it with PHP. However, sometimes I wonder how he does it.

Oh right, forgot MS makes all images as small as possible and uses offsets to centre them on each other, rather than just using sequences the same size.
Would it be possible to post specifics on the buffs he uses? (numbers for w.atk/w.def up) I'm curious how much damage he's gonna do. (btw does Priest's Dispel work on these skills? Maybe the new ones are un-dispelable watk/wdef up without being immunity)

well Eternity did a 30 somethin minute HT run i think yesterday, and if this thing has twice as much HP as horntail, then it shoulnt take them more than an hour and a half at most with some practice :f3:

Giant "anythings" are grossly overdone as final bosses. A Pink Bean/Pokemon-lookalike that taunts you constantly throughout the fight that then goes on to kick your ass personally is on of the best boss ideas possible.

Some possibilities -
Weapon block - prevent weapon skills/normal attacks/magic attacks
Armor block - lower player def/mdef to 0
Dual block - prevent attacking AND lower def stats...
Just some thoughts, based on the images.

If anything, I'd guess those new symbols on the Hawk statues are like a Physical guard for Melee / Ranged / Both (Sword, looks like a Steely in a way, both combined) or just the outright blocking of those attacks in general while it's up.

Well jeez. With 55 avoidability in its (S) form, a warrior's gonna need 202 or so accuracy to hit it at 180. A 170 would need 275, and a 175 would need 238.
Edit: Then again, a +3 HT Pendant would probably suffice for the accuracy requirements, whenever it's fixed.

An ideal PB squad would probably include a KB party filled with heros/paladins/marksmen/possibly a DrK (for HB and rush). DP doesnt work on bosses, but Sniping/The charge-up skill can deal some massive damage for KB, then there's Panic with a 10 orb combo + SE, as well as Holy Charge + Blast + SE, and then DrK can rush or spam HB (using sacrifice to do enough damage to KB bean would mean the user takes 15% of 70k+ damage, which is...not a good idea...). With onyx apples, the job of providing knockback could be handled even more easily.
-Another possibility to consider, and an alarming one at that, is that the skills are de-equip skills. As in, the sword de-equips all weapons (meaning you are helpless to re-equip them without some downtime, unless they are auto-re-equipped, which may pose some problems for lowSTAT classes (NLs in particular). The circle could be de-equip armor (which may force a de-equip on weapon), and the double symbol both.

Well.. Those 3 buff icons they look like Debuff Buffs. What I mean by Debuff Buff is, its a Buff the mob uses to Debuff players.

If it doomed, that'd be awesome. I think it's a more advanced version of blind, or maybe even it's like control screw up of ArPQ? The skulls look similar.
EDIT: It involves being frozen some how. Or that's it's name. It also has dead in it's name "Frozen Dead Tuesday"? That's what I got with messing with it in the translator (only spacing characters). It worked well for finding out the mobs anyway.

Papulatus is a really serious boss too, btw. Oh, so is a giant goldfish that shoots lazer beams from it's mouth.
This is how a "silly" kind of boss should be done. It appears to not be ferocious at all, but taking a look at his full moveset and the damage he (and his summons) does, it is apparent that the first impression isn't the right one. Pap and Pianus are the same in this regard. Seeing their standing image might not strike terror into your soul, but their attacks certainly come off as proving them as worthwhile endeavors.
There are a few of the skills that I've seen of this boss today that look pretty good. The joke ones are just over the top though.
And yes, the game was built on things which are sort of silly, but that is all low level things. Everything beyond like 3rd job has a certain level of seriousness to it. I'm not necessarily opposed to the idea of a boss such as this (for instance, I really like the way Pap looks, stylistically), I am just turned off by the out-of-place campy-ness.
In addition, what of the level 120 weapon set? They don't fit the boss's theme here. I was expecting something along the lines of the physical embodiment of Death, or at least something skeletal. I'd say Ergoth looks more likely to be dropping the 120 set than this pink guy.

I've always wondered why Night Loads attack with stars. I guess it's for the same reason Battle Roads are armor. Seems like such an obvious fit. Then again, when we have Wizards walking about Bracing Poison everywhere, it's not much of a surprise.
Hint: "Night Lord" is correct, "Night Load" is not. "Battle Lord" is what it should be, "Battle Road" is what it is. "Poison Brace" is wrong, you'll find that it is now called "Poison Breath".

So only the best heal / dispell bishops will be wanted for this boss, because 1 bishop will be responsible for killing his/hers entire party, if not the whole boss run.
Also maxed Holy Shield will be a requisite for Bishops to be allowed to enter, since it will protect them for the humiliation for their failure if they heal their party to death... Bishops will need to have some actual skill for this boss... Can't help to imagine so many Bishops will fail here because most just spam heal/dispell keys atm at bosses like zakum without using any part of their brain... And I don't even want to think about lagging bishops that are 10 seconds behind of their party with healing... :')
Something like this:
Undead status effect applied....heal....heal....heal....heal.... "Oh shiet, I killed me hole party! Zorry ppls!" :+)

Actually, I realized earlier that if it IS only resistant to physical (and not immune), that it would still take half the damage from attacks, meaning the standard NLs and Bowmasters will still be there for the last phase (if they don't like...get raped by his damage >_>).
Also, that post was yesterday, and I think the thread that explains the ??? resistance was posted today.

But, right now, you can only put one point into it, and it cures Seduce. Perhaps they'll unlock that skill so you could put more points into it and have it able to dispel these new curses as well.

Is the boss actually released in-game, or is it only sitting in the data? Even if it is released, don't forget that this is only the first test release. They'll need additional patches to sort out the kinks.

Even at max level, Holy Shield only covers the party for a small fraction of the time. It will help out (it helps out a lot at HT already), but I doubt that it will be the main solution. >_>

This kinda makes sense because at level 200 you'll have 9 spare points if you've maxed everything else so it would be a way to use up those 9 spare points.

I highly doubt any of the physical forms will change. It's probably changes to stats/attacks/order of the fight.

Uhh... that map is the first one you go to at the beginning of the temple (I think). As in, you're out of the battle.

Most DKs at least get lv 10 of ER. I personally made SURE that I got lv 20, because I know I solo a lot, and almost all end-game monsters have an elemental magic attack (it helps a lot at Papulatus, where I only take 1k damage per hit).

Only Shadowers can do knockbacks of 100k+ damage, since the first 3 hits of assassinate are counted as 1 attack. So Shadowers' max KB is 300k...
Btw, the longer I think about it, the more I'm sure about it that this boss is a no go area for HP weaky NL's/BM's/MM's... The damage is just too high for them to just survive 1 plain hit... (same goes for 4th job Pirate - Captain's btw...)

I thought it was a monster that is being kb'd by someone else - I've had no trouble rushing pap when NLs are attacking but not KB'ing it.

It's definitely possible for 2 people to rush the same monster, I'm not sure why Anego unpins but I believe it's related to people failing to KB which means she doesn't flinch, and then it messes up the positions of the ranged characters so they can't keep attacking.

Increased Acc means more space for Stronger equips
BUT more importantly increased INT means MORE EASY HP WASHING!@@!
If you have the cash... You could Hp wash SOO crazy with some 50+ gear + a full HT pendant. You might be able to HP wash every level.

If you have the cash... You could Hp wash SOO crazy with some 50+ gear + a full HT pendant. You might be able to HP wash every level.

Only Shadowers can do knockbacks of 100k+ damage, since the first 3 hits of assassinate are counted as 1 attack. So Shadowers' max KB is 300k...

Yeah, I think monsters follow those who KB it most (and more recently). Not sure on exactly how it works, but Pap always follows me rather than the NL that's in my party.

True, rush is a bit flukey. The problem with using rush against PB is that if rush fails to push him (as it does at Pap), the rusher will plow into him and take damage. I'm not sure of the damage they'll take, but it may well be fatal.
This definitely holds true to the phrase "Looks can be deceiving." But seriously, 7b+ HP combined, that's ridiculous.

Or, if he has a weird hit box/can't be rushed when attacking (as was the case with Puff Daddy at times), rush may simply not connect at all. This may change with higher levels of rush, idk. Hitting under PB probably won't be a problem, but accidentally rushing into a statue when trying to kb PB may.

That won't be a concern. PB can't be touched in his weak form and he can't touch you (except maybe status ailments?). Once you kill off all the statues (the first 5 stages), that is when you must face the strong form of PB. The only other monsters that will hinder you are the mini-bean summons.

Good luck dealing 94k per hit uncharged. Bean's resistance to Physical would halve that to 47k, which would pretty much screw you over.
Instead of pinning him, let's try a few Vipers and some Shadowers with maxed Smoke Shell (of course, you wouldn't use Smoke Shell OR Time Leap until the last phase, and even then, Bean himself will probably take an hour or more to kill).
Also, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be able to hit Ariel at all if you're not an Archmage if you don't have over 123% Jump (except for NLs, who should be able to stand on the edge of the screen and jumpshot her). Just throwing that out there. o_o

if this boss doesn't allow rush or dragon breath to work on him; then keeping him pinned thro sheer damage will be the only way to do it, and the only classes that can dish out 70ks fast enough to keep him pinned are paladins blast, and shadowers assassinate.

I just tested this myself at skeles. They dont get knocked back unless i physically do a 5k hit. If i do 4k + 4k + 4k it doesnt get kb'd

I've never seen a Puppet spam team. Does spamming Puppet even work with multiple puppets / does it effect Pink Bean?
Puppet -does- seem to work on every monster and boss, so I don't see why it wouldn't work on this one... The question is only if archers can survive the full screen magic attacks, since they even have a hard time surviving horntail below lvl 170... And 30 levels of normal levelup is only 600~700 HP extra... :o
Time for a Blood Puppeteer Squad? :D
P.S. to Renascentia: Plz keep this board flamebait free? I was only stating hypothetical attacking possibilities...
I think that with the advent of this boss, the only possible future of archers at PB will be Bloodmasters and Bloodsmen. :)

Puppet doesn't work with multiple people attacking the monster. I guess it could work if an Archer tried soloing Pink Bean, but that won't happen anytime soon unless they go the blood route maybe.

Rush just requires you do contact damage to push a monster back, however it doesn't work while a monster is recovering from a KB which is why it has trouble at bosses (or if you PS+FA then Rush, the FA and Rush are too close together and it can't push anything the FA KB'd)

Man, the only solace I can find about the last form of Pink Bean is that there aren't any statues to deal with. I can so totally see all of the NLs trying to get away from Pink Bean and then FJing into a statue. xd (Even though it's slow as shit)

I believe this is true, I think I've pushed Cornians with DP before without them actually flinching.

PB(W) refers to the other form of PB. In this form, you cannot hit him and he cannot hit you. All he does is sit on the throne the entire match, taunts you (hilarious animations too), and buffs up the enemies. PB(S) refers to the form of PB with 2.1B HP and does nasty attacks and has 23k touch damage. After you defeat Stage 5, PB(W) disappears in a puff of smoke and reappears in a flash of light and begins letting all hell break loose on you as PB(S).
If you mean magic attack... I have no clue, I'd guess much less than 23k though.

Dragon Pulse won't work. It doesn't work on any other boss, so prolly not this one either. Rush, however, has worked on both forms of Pap. Not only that, but Rush even pushes a monster if you miss (low acc) it. Rush has, in the past, worked for every monster that can move so I don't see why it wouldn't work for Pink Bean.
However, if you're a warrior and you've tried Rushing one of the anniversary cakes away from other people, you know that it doesn't work too well when other people are KBing it. So if you wanted PB in the corner you'd have to have either everyone stop attacking while a few warriors Rush it, or just have all the warriors with enough HP continually try to rush it while everyone's attacking. If they fail, just walk to the other side and try again.
To whomever mentioned Puppet.... no. Just no. Puppet doesn't work at all when other people are attacking the monster. Puppets best use is in solo situations. Like Pap.

Around 11k on his normal magic attack, 19k on his "exploding fireballs" attack which may be avoidable.

It's not avoidable. He does the animation and it attaches to your character immediately. There is no "ball" to avoid. It just explodes on you. If you're thinking about avoiding it, good luck. The hitbox extends 250 pixels above PB and 600 pixels in front of him.

If it's spells only affect what's infront of it like the first post says, then you could have warriors aggro him, run to the corner and let the other classes attack his back. Like...

19K HP with HB would be.. very difficult... You'd need nearly 12k base for that. I think that CMS Hermit had like... 11xxx at 180 ish.

However, it doesn't seem like Kristen intentionally summoned the pink bean.
Although the pink bean was small and cute, its destructive power was unimaginable.
Because he noticed that it was a very dangerous monster.
He has unfathomable strength, and was the one forgotten god that came back to life.
It seems this monster isn't from this world

Fiel said the strong attack (19k damage) has a hitbox that extends out 600px from PB. That's 3/4 of the screen. I'm pretty sure no ranged person can be outside that range and still be able to hit PB.
Like I keep saying, though, PB's weakness is behind him. That 19k attack only hits 250 px behind him. If several warriors could lure him across the map and keep PB's backside to the ranged characters, it's very winnable.

My guess was that the real KB was 70k, however he's strong to physical attacks, which means you'd have to do what would be 140k damage to another monster with the same DEF/level/whatever, in order to KB it.

KB only counts as each separate number. And about the mage role, yeah, I find that nice... But mages can still get the horntail pendant if they want, can't they?
Ranged can't even have a chance, if they, you know, DIE EPICLY. If there's a waiting room, and you can come back from the dead, np.
Something like a timer in the death room could be interesting... that way, resurect would be still useful.

- have difficulties when applied on a constantly Kb-ed monster, however, with the Pink Bean's 140k damage required limit for KB, I strongly disbelieve that it can be mass-Kb'ed, thus rendering warriors, particularly Drks?, another important role in boss fights: Rush mule. (lol, first hb mule then Seduce mule and now Rush mule?)
- have a 'safe' distance between you and the monster, so in case your Rush fails, if you aim your distance well, you'll end up standing somewhat a step or two away from the boss.Taking into consideration its snail's speed, Rush is considerably safe to practice.
I wanna send my sincerest gratitude to Fiel and everyone contributing to these updates, the music is simply.. indescribable x_x And the boss itself is as much intriguing. ^^

well If it wasnt crit then I would have a little bit of hope. Not to mention its still 30k short of what we need :f7:. When pink bean does come out, it would be really nice if they'd jus take off that 99,999 limit.
What does using Crit have to do with false hopes? Want more proof that the cap is removed?

Well, to Rusty's inquiries, in GMS, Pierce had its damage cap raised to 150k (and people can still dc with apples). None of the dmg shown went over 150k so could it just be the dmg cap being raised slightly and not removed at all?

That's not the DCing cap being removed, that's the regular ol' damage cap gone. Niiiice :O

It just came out in official KMS this week. Looking at how hard the prerequisite quests are, I doubt they've had a chance to fight it seriously yet.

Is it just me, or was it spamming 19k damage attacks? This looks like it might be crazier than originally thought.
Since when has Maple been all about serious graphics and scary stuff? When you first started, how scary was the Lupin at L forest? It did 135 damage on your ass and would kill you yet it was a fucking monkey throwing bananas.
Alishar? I know when I was 35 and did my first LPQ'd I was pretty much holy shit'd by the fact it had huge visible nipples yet still kicked my ass; mainly cause I had no all-cures, but you get the idea.
Papulatus is a really serious boss too, btw. Oh, so is a giant goldfish that shoots lazer beams from it's mouth.
Point is, Pinky right there is cool. I love it especially because it actually has multiple phases instead of just starting all out and killing off stuff one by one like horntail, it's like pulling out wings of a fly. Starts off fun, but then it gets too easy. ):
xdf, I was seriously expecting like something from Final Fantasy <_<. Maybe some weird superior being that's in the shape of a human but is really some type of weird creature, whatever they make up for it.
That moves around, jumps up, etc.
Pink Bean isn't what I expected, but still looks cool xd, a moving big boss, like that takes 30 people to kill instead of 1-6 like pap.
It's a good change imo.

Hmm, that platform seems odd. I guess a way for one to escape if PB is closing in on you? (Then again, magic is more what you need to worry about) It could help with just getting to the other side in general as well.
The no touch damage from the statues is great though, that means you cant be super KB'd and smack into the other ones in the later stages.

The statues have touch damage of course, but remember if you're blinking when you pass through them, you don't take the damage. Hence why I can berserk on Zakum, get knocked into the body and not die with only 4-5k HP.

No, because what happens immediately after the bishop falls into the sword is that they're knocked back. It's the person filming. The statues have touch, and it's 15k at that.

Given the 770 on the displayed statue is hitting near 7200 magic damage, the boss is getting some sort of matk up buff. It seems to be buffed to around 920~930, which would be +150-160 magic up.
If a similar buff is cast on the other statues, then the Ariel Statue's 1300 is gonna be buffed to 1450, making it do approximately 17500 magic damage.
Monster damage has a quadratic form, you can't just scale up with attack especially if they're getting buffed by PB(W) during the first parts of the battle.
Assuming that one hit of ~16000 was actually a physical contact, then the 900 base of that statue would imply that PB(W) has a +500 physical attack buff, which would be pretty brutal (Ariel can 1hko any character on touch, doing nearly 40k bump)
I've added my approximations for unbuffed bold and buffed (brackets) for the damage it'll do. It seems more likely that the magic buff is used on and off, and that's why it does ~4500-5000 and then ~6500-7100. Maybe dispel/power crash would be useful here?

From what I saw, it looks like down the bottom of the statues, there is an area about the height of a mapler, where it's safe to stand. Which is nice. Also good to see that there are raised platforms where warriors can stand and attack without having to jump. I hate having to jump attack at pap. >_< Then my party yells at me for forgetting HB when I don't get dispelled because I'm up top where I can attack constantly. :(
