I mean, besides the truckload of LUK and the Level Requirement, these beauties are the way to go for ArchMages and Bishops. . .

Which brings me to the point, will Normal/Low LUK win in the end? I saw one recently and it was at the price of the 130, maybe even lower! Sure there aren't that many out there, but it still proves that Normal/Low LUK are better . . .

Therefore, it brings me to my last point, will this be the order?:

1st: LUK-less
2nd: LUK-less
3rd: LUK-less
4th: Normal/Low LUK

I mean, Nexon can't possibly come up with a better staff/wand, can they? If they do, this game is "Game Over."

It can be argued that the enormous LUK requirement is more than enough to cover the M. ATK difference from a 130 wand, but I am not one to express an opinion on this, having nothing approaching that level.

The staves are level 163 by the way and require 165 luk for only a 33 magic advantage, and since they're so rare, you won't be seeing them under the price of a level 130 wand. They'll only be worthwhile if their price falls down to around that of a level 70 wand and if you can take advantage of the extra luk from a zakum helm, horntail pendant, and shield luk scrolling cheapness.

The 160 Staffs are good if you have 120 base luk and don't want to buy AP resets...

Mage damage is based on 2 things: int and magic. Putting points in luk means taking points out of damage.

Which that ( and the maker skill) is exactly my plan to get one :D

But are they really around the price of a 130 wand? You'd think they'd lower the price since nearly no one uses them... >.>

you can't use the maker skill to create gachapon items, so no elemental staff with that.

also, because of how INT/LUK works it's the same having a level 163 staff or a level 103 one, as long as your base luk is adjusted accordingly.

163 wand = 103 wand for all intents and purposes - assuming you're over level 163 and aren't overlucked for the 103.

In other words, it's just as crappy as the rest.

I still don't see any way for Lukless to get topped by Normal Luk. All that INT gives them more MP and a larger boost from Maple Warrior.

I was saying I was going to use the maker skill to remake my regular equips for extra luk and then scroll my shield for luk. I have 103 base, so i need 62 in total, which means using all high-grade crystals on my shoes, overall and gloves is 15 luk (and like 6 luk just from the items base stats) +37 luk from a HT pendant+egg and a z-helm is 58 luk. that means all I need is 6 luk on my shield and I can use it.

That was a long explanation :O

Oh hay Kevin, nice siggy. :D

I think of level 163 staves as level 103 staves except higher leveled, better looking, proer and much much rarer. Vanity item much?

Level 130 wands are already end game LOL.

Mage damage is based on 2 things: int and magic. Putting points in luk means taking points out of damage.

Luk is not a straight-away drain on int and damage, though. Luk equips have int and luk bonuses, which partially compensate for the luk you place to use them. There was a time when low-luk was considered better than lukless due to the Doomsday staff, which needs 80 luk. I have 6 base luk, and with my Zhelm and HT pendant that comes out to 44. Doomsday requires 80, so ~34-36 luk. However, it's not just the staff that you get for that, that will also accommodate lvl 78 magician shoes, gloves, and overall, which give int bonuses of their own, and further offset the 34-36 luk you put in. Lukless became the way to go with the lvl 64 wand/staff, and was further solidified with the lvl 130 eles. To the best of my knowledge, before those, the strongest mage in GMS was a low-luk. If the HT Pendant is ever altered to accommodate the full 3 eggs, I am almost certain that low-luk will go in vogue again.

I 100% agree though that the lvl 164 wand is worthless. Unless they make ultra godly equips in the future that also require that amount of luk, and give heaps of bonuses for them, the luk requirement is simply not worth it.

Do you ever gain more stats by adding +10 to luk? Not right now. Most gear jumps 2-3 stats per 10 levels.

The only places it'll happen with maker are the levels where you can toss on stats crystals:
Level 50/58 gear: +2/3/5 (overall/glove/shoe) = 6/9/15 extra stats over level 40/48 gear
Level 78/80 gear over 70 gear: ditto

The most likely result of this would be people going from 4 base to 7, equipping an overall with +luk (ex. Starlight, 4 luk) and having 48 luk, enough to wear the level 50 glove/shoe. Adding on 6-10 stats there would be worth the increase in base stats.

It still means that from level 40 to 80 gear, you're only gaining about a max of +35 stats, and increasing luk by 40.

The "strongest mage" was only the strongest person posting, and had perfect 30%'d gear before many other people did (earring, dark ritual, glove... and something like a 40 stat overall). It's more difficult to scroll a Maple weapon because they only drop one month a year, but now with Elemental staffs that's not necessary - you get a 10-25% damage bonus which easily beats +56 matk.

Beautiful but useless, the harsh truth behind the normal LUK Arch Mage.

Well that's kind of an overstatement. While lukless may be stronger, it doesn't make regular luk useless. I think that at about lvl 200 if a lukless and a regular luk were bossing, a lukless would do ~4k more dps.

If a lukless did signifigantly more dmg, then I would say regular luk is useless. But this isn't the case.

It is still cheaper and stronger to be lukless and gives more MP total.
Not to say that LUK is bad...
If it is planned per say for a 103 elemental staff- it would be great and cheaper than a 130/70 elemental wand build.

Maybe. But I'm still holding out for uber luk weapons to come out. Then all the luklesses will be like 'crap.'

Besides, I don't care about damage. As I've said on many occasions before, I'm an idealist. All my characters must be able to equip the highest level equip with a zhelm/pendant.

Same ^ like my glove etc are all highest levels we have out. Which well, makes sense! (apart from my starlight overall heh 34 int lol)
